Holiday Inn Express & Suites Mountain View Silicon Valley by IHG in Mountain View

Came in thinking everything was very nice and well kept. However, the fire alarm in our room and what sounded like the entire floor went off at 1:15am. It turned off shortly and we received a call to our room asking if there was a fire or smoke. We told them no and that we were sleeping. A staff member then came to our room and knocked. When I got up to check what was happening the man told me we all had to step out so he could search our room. He claimed we set the alarm off and had been smoking in the room. When I said we were not he told me to “not look at him like that”, mind you I was just woken up by a fire alarm and accused of smoking in our room. The man then continued by saying “well it doesn’t smell like smoke but just remember no smoking”. This is extremely off putting and quite frankly rude. I understand that things happen but the staff needs to be taught how to speak to customers instead of accusing them of things and demanding to search their room. Would not recommend staying here unless you like being spoken down to.
