Hilton San Diego Mission Valley in San Diego

My family and I checked in at your hotel around 1:00 AM and were unfortunately woken up just a few hours later, around 6:30 AM, due to a serious water leak from the ceiling. We were forced to evacuate the room without having had any proper rest.

Although we were moved to a new room at approximately 7:00 AM, we received no apology or acknowledgment from the hotel staff upon our return later that day. To make matters worse, the new room we were given had a constant, disturbing noise coming from the air conditioner, which once again made it difficult for us to rest. This led to yet another room change.

We raised our concerns with the duty manager, but she appeared dismissive, lacking the professionalism and empathy expected when handling serious guest complaints.

We are very disappointed about Hilton San Diego Mission Valley with the service we received, especially considering the multiple disruptions and the lack of proper response.

The hotel has great interior features. But its service doesn’t match. There were no hair dryers in the room. We called three times for one, every single time the employee said ok and hung up. After more than half hour, the fourth call with a different employee confirmed no hair dryer was even available since no one can help us without the housekeeper- which they could have mentioned from the beginning. I will have a bad headache with the wet hair sleeping. Can’t believe there is no one to backup for the room service.

My friend and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights, November 8-10th 2024. Checking in and checking out were fine. The parking was also fine and the location is convenient. However, the walls in every room are extremely thin and you can hear every single word from the neighbors. We did not sleep the first night because our neighbors were blasting music and partying until well past 3am. We called the front desk and they said they were sending security over to check it out - don’t know if they ever came but the music continued all night. The next morning, our room also smelled strongly of marijuana. We had to request a change in rooms. In both hotel rooms, the shower door seal was all ripped up and the bathroom floor flooded every time we showered. Also, I ordered the flatbread from the restaurant downstairs. It was $30 for a literal school lunch pizza. Would not recommend this hotel.

This place is located next to a literal crack house, and I'm sure that there isn't much Hilton can do to remedy this. However, the problem is not just the neighbors, it is alongside a highway which is loud. Although convenient. The inside of the hotel has plenty of areas for improvement, just as entering the lobby you can see the very worn out couches. It wouldn't cost much to fix this, yet. The first impression was very negative. Once making it to the room, there were plenty of issues including sanitation concerns. The fridge was frozen over on the inside, stains. Almost everywhere, paint chipping, wood rot and rust were just the name of a few. I would not want to stay here again, the convenience was good but for the price we could do better. And Hilton should be doing better!

Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Do not let the lobby fool you. This hotel is incredibly run down and dirty. When we first checked in, my original room had food crumbs on the couch and counters. There were also what appeared like soda droplets or champagne droplets from a sprayed beverage on the walls and windows. We immediately called the front desk and asked to be moved. Second room was a lot cleaner but there were still a lot of cosmetic issues in the second room. There were things like lifted wallpaper, peeled paint, lifting in the carpet and a missing curtain. The headboard outlets did not work nor the headboard lamps. Do not waste your money on adding the breakfast buffet. You’re better off going to the Denny’s next door. Food ranged from undercooked to overcooked and they had no flavor. The variety options were great but not if they lacked taste.

What bothered me most is how we are expected to pay $37 a night for parking yet the entire lot is covered in signage stating that there is an increase in theft in the area and the hotel is not responsible for damages. To me, what are my $37 for if there is no security present or security modifications to deter theft. Overall, just an overpriced hotel banking on the Hilton name for Motel 6 level accommodations.

I had a terrible experience during my stay at a Hilton hotel in San Diego. I booked a room for three nights, but the bathroom was far below Hilton’s standards. On the second day, the hot water stopped working, and despite their attempts to fix it for two hours, they were unsuccessful. This forced us to move to a new room without any apology, disrupting our plans and requiring us to reschedule appointments. Additionally, when we returned to the parking lot in the evening, the key didn’t work, and after multiple unsuccessful calls to the help bell, the staff at the lobby hung up on me before I could finish explaining the issue. I am extremely disappointed with the service and will avoid Hilton in the future.
