Hotel del Coronado, Curio Collection by Hilton in San Diego

The biggest advantage of this accommodation is the location. I booked an ocean-view room, and the view was truly beautiful. The bed was comfortable, and the internet worked well.

That said, there were also some downsides. First, the refrigerator did not work at all. I had to throw away items such as yogurt that I had bought the day before. They replaced the refrigerator, but the new one did not work either, and I was not compensated for the inconvenience.

Second, the window door was not properly maintained or lubricated, so I had to call an engineer twice because it would not open. I specifically chose this room for the ocean view, so it was frustrating not to be able to open the balcony door.

Still, in the end, the ocean view outweighed everything else. If you book this place, I highly recommend choosing the ocean-view side.

We paid $1300 for 2 nights in a king bed room with a balcony, but on arrival were assigned a ground floor unit, dark with small patio under 2nd floor balcony - on busy walkway with lots of families going by, peeking in, making noise, etc. I asked the concierge and a room agent to change but was told no balcony kings available. Finally found wonderful room agent who found room type that we were SUPPOSED to have had. WE SHOULDN'T HAVE HAD TO GO THROUGH ALL THAT HASSLE TO GET THE ROOM TYPE THAT WE HAD ORIGINALLY RESERVED! Then on checkout we found a room charge made in the hotel restaurant that wasn't ours. Again had to make numerous calls to convince people that we had NOT made that charge. In summary: the hotel is beautiful, historic and picturesque. However it is expensive ($600+ rooms, $59/day parking, pricey meals, etc) and water at the beach is not safe due to pollution. We will go back to Coronado but plan to stay at a different hotel.

It was an amazing and memorable stay.  Cost of the room is exaggerated and what's up with the $17 small cup of fresh squeezed orange juice.  Yikes...

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Del Coronado, and it was absolutely incredible! This beautiful resort is located on a stunning peninsula, offering breathtaking views of the ocean that took my breath away.

The abundance of excellent restaurants on-site ensured that we never ran out of delightful dining options. Each meal was a treat, from casual bites to fine dining.

The atmosphere is vibrant, with many tourists around, adding to the lively spirit of the place. However, it never felt overcrowded; rather, it enhanced the experience. One of the highlights was seeing the hotel lit up in the evening—it truly transforms into a magical place, making the ocean views even more mesmerizing.

I highly recommend Hotel Del Coronado to anyone looking for a perfect vacation spot. Whether you're relaxing by the beach, enjoying delicious food, or soaking in the stunning sunset views, it’s an experience you won't want to miss.

very pretty hotel with history. there is an souvenir store inside and showing some historical videos about celebrities who were staying here, also some old pics of the hotel. quite funny. the interior is well maintained and elegant. you could spend a full day in this island visiting the hotel and nearby beach which are same awesome

Hotel is historic. There was a huge event going on during our stay, and we were not apart of it, so we were ignored by staff and much of the hotel was blocked off just for them. Would have been nice to relay this information to all guests, as I would have came a different time. We stayed in the original hotel with water view. Rooms were dated and the hallways were something out of an acid trip. It was a trip to do one time and would not need to go back based on this.
