This is honestly the worst Andaz I’ve ever stayed at — calling it a 3-star hotel wouldn’t be an exaggeration.
• The shower temperature is almost impossible to control: it’s either freezing cold or suddenly burning hot.
• No complimentary bottled water in the room. The only option is a $9 paid bottle, and they “encourage” you to refill water yourself at the station on each floor.
• No minibar / snack bar in the room either. Instead, there’s an awkward little convenience store on the first floor.
• The gym is laughably small and extremely basic. In the morning, it’s not uncommon to see 6–7 people standing around inside because there’s simply no space or equipment.
• No free slippers or basic toiletries in the room (you can call the front desk and maybe they’ll deliver them 10–15 minutes later).

The overall design and maintenance feel cheap and careless — old paint, worn-out furniture, and my room even had an unpleasant “goat cheese” smell.

Also worth mentioning: the street next to the hotel quickly turns into an area where many homeless people gather, which didn’t feel safe or comfortable, especially at night.

It genuinely feels like they took over a mediocre 3-star hotel, gave it a rough renovation, and slapped the Andaz name on it. I rarely leave negative reviews for hotels, but this one was truly absurd.

I'm a globalist with Hyatt, and stay at Hyatt properties 75-80 night per year. I have never had a bad experience at any Hyatt property until I stayed at the Andaz, San Diego. I had such a negative experience with the front desk manager that I had to leave, and I checked into the Marriott for the rest of my stay. Look at other properties before you stay here. The homeless encampments all around the hotel were another negative to this property

Absolutely amazing experience!! I had a great stay, and I celebrated my birthday, and the entire staff offered things to celebrate the day! To the entire staff, I really appreciate you!
Rooms were clean, and it’s right at the heart of Downtown which made the whole experience even better!

Our stay at andez hotel was absolutely wonderful. The customer service truly stands out—everyone we encountered was incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. The property is spotless, and even the scent throughout the hotel is amazing.

The rooms are beautiful, comfortable, and well-maintained, making it easy to relax and enjoy the stay. The food was delicious and exceeded our expectations. We also loved the heated pool—only downside of this is the bar and food service is not available from 11-2

The staff is extremely knowledgeable and happy to help with recommendations for things to do and places to go around San Diego, which made our trip even better. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would absolutely stay here again!

First time staying at the Andaz in California is a 3 star. I would have to say the andaz in Miami, Fl and New York are both 5 stars. I was disappointed. The room had a smell and we got a room facing a giraffe. It was an interior facing window. Not one of the best hotels at all. The staff was great, very polite.
Location was great and it was close to a lot of restaurants, which is a plus.
The best was the breakfast at the rooftop and Jesse the server was fantastic. One of the best servers out there. Kuddos to him. Overall, I would recommend this hotel, due to the location.

Fantastic service and decorated hotel with some great points of service like free water/ refreshments and snacks replenished daily in the room. Nice pool, gym and fantastic location in Gaslamp area of SD.

The best Andaz concept I have stayed at so far. Very spacious rooms and brilliant customer service. Within walking distance of everything you could want.

The staff was friendly. They greeted us with a smile. Check in process was very smooth. The hotel gives a vibe of the surroundings with great art work all around. The room was very big. There was a rain shower in the room as well. The amenities were also of high quality. The hotel sits in the center of all the activities making it a great place to spend time.

Nice location. Rooms are very nice and it's nice to have some complimentary treats. Staff is really kind. Only complaint is that the rooms facing the "courtyard" are a little strange because it just offers a view to another room. There really is no courtyard. The rooftop restaurant has a nice view. Food is not bad.

Great service from Charlotte. Turned on the husker football game for me. Plenty of tv's for watching all types of sports. Bbq burger and the kraken mule where a great pair. Highly recommend

Typical American Sports bar. The food was good and the service was excellent. I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich with fries and my wife the fish tacos. Minus one star for my wife's cold tacos.

This is your typical American sports bar. It had an open atmosphere with plenty of televisions with one them dedicated to Chive. So it provided plenty of laughs while eating brunch. Mimosas are bottomless here for $10 which my girlfriend had while I had an American mule. She had the chicken and waffles and I had the San Diego breakfast burrito. Both came with breakfast potatoes which were delicious! My burrito had eggs, potatoes, steak, salsa and sour cream on the side. The steak was full of flavor. This is a good place for brunch and I will be back in the future.

Definitely not Indian food taste. We went during lunch time for buffet and Every curry is sweet like a dessert.
Eat here if you don't have any option.
Although other royal India places were really good.

Despite the restaurant being super crowded on Christmas evening; Arun was able to accommodate and give us a table. He was very calm, polite and understanding.

Lamb was amazing!

The curry chicken dish I had was superb. And spicy enough for me, a rare treat! The staff is very polite and quite attentive. If you would like to have a quiet conversation over excellent food - this place seems tough to beat.

Good bowling tracks. Friendly staff and a good selection of beers and drinks. I think bowling is a bit to pricey on the weekends.

Fun for the whole family or a date. The staff is very friendly, the beer is cold, the lanes are smooth and the food is delicious. Not expensive either. Good times!

On August 11th, my department for my job hosted an event there. Event was from 630 to 830 that included bowling. We had a total of 4 lanes. 2 of the Lanes were down for a minimum of 30 to 40 min. During this time we didn't complain because we knew they were working on trying to fix it. At 830 they shut all 4 lanes from bowling. I then went to the manager who argued with me because I requested for time to be made up since the system was down. I asked to speak to his manager, he then replied " I am the one you need to go through, there is no one else". After several minutes of arguing he finally gave me a name refused to give me a phone number for him or a number where I could complain. Manager told me all he could do was give us 10 minutes because he said he other people coming for that lane. Very poor customer service, That's not our problem if the lanes were down for over 30 to 40 min we deserve all of our time. Good money was paid for this event for a complete 2 hours, we deserved better service. Would definitely not recommend especially for company events.

The only Bowling Place in Gaslamp. Definitely not made for serious bowler. Nice place to hang out. Bar tender is a little sloppy with drinks. I would recommend only shots or tap beers. Bartender is not attentive at all. Drinks are empty and had to wait wait to place order for drinks and food. Maybe they need a bell at the bar. Staffs are too busy chatting and focus on their friends. Lanes are also way you to short. If you have not been here's. You didn't miss anything. Go somewhere else.
