I had never stayed in a hotel with my little Chihuahua before, and this was my first time doing so. I chose this hotel because of its location—close to the airport—and because it accepted pets. On the day I arrived, the front desk staff handed me my keys. I mentioned that I had my dog ​​with me, and they simply said, "Okay." I asked them how much I needed to pay for him, and the young man assisting me said, "Just $25—a one-time fee." I asked him again if it wasn't a daily charge—since I had called the hotel previously and been told it was $25 per night—but he insisted, "No, just $25 total." The next day, I needed to go out, so I left my dog ​​in the room. I placed the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door to ensure housekeeping wouldn't enter while my dog ​​was inside. Well, when I returned, my keys wouldn't open the room because they had been deactivated. I went to the front desk and explained what had happened with my keys and the housekeeping sign. A man—who was incredibly rude—wouldn't even listen to me; he simply reactivated my keys and said, "I don't know anything about that; talk to the manager tomorrow." The next morning, a young woman—the only friendly person involved in this whole ordeal—came to my room. She explained that if I hadn't officially declared that I had a dog, I needed to go to the front desk, as they might have to move me to a different room since pets aren't allowed on the second floor. Okay, I went down to see what was going on, and there was a woman—the worst of the bunch, with a horrible attitude—waiting there. I felt terrible, as if I had done something wrong—as if I had been trying to hide my dog. Her treatment was truly awful; she told me I had to pay $150 to cover every day my dog ​​would be staying at the hotel. It was horrible; I explained to her that I *had* mentioned I had a dog, but she continued to treat me as if I were a liar. At that point, I paid what was required, signed a form regarding my pet, and retreated to my room. She remained annoyed with me, demanding to know why I had left the dog alone in the room. I felt absolutely miserable dealing with that woman. My only advice to the hotel is this: do not employ people who lack basic decency. The front desk staff clearly doesn't know the hotel's policies, yet they turn around and accuse guests of lying. The situation was anything but pleasant; in fact—even while I was standing right there with the woman, paying my bill—someone called in via satellite phone and ordered them to enter my room to check that everything was in order, as if I were a criminal. The intrusion itself wasn't even the worst part; it was the fact that they didn't ask for permission or offer any explanation, and they displayed a truly horrible attitude. Aside from the issue with the staff, the cleaning service was fine; however, I felt so mistreated that I seriously considered switching hotels. Ultimately, though, it would have been too complicated to do so—especially since I had already paid for all six of my nights—so I felt I had no other choice but to stay. You really need to replace all that staff with their terrible attitudes.
