The Point Hotel & Suites Universal in Orlando

I’ve been staying here for a while now I just moved from Michigan and this specific week I decided to pay through them instead of a third-party so by the end of the week I noticed a transaction on my account that should not have been there. I asked them about it. They printed out my receipt, which that amount still was not on the receipt, but they try to justify it so I let it go until the next Monday , so Monday came around and I have another charge on my account which is $1043 now that was on my receipt so I understood that now I’m going through the whole thing about the whole week that I’ve been here I go downstairs. I tell the lady she starts printing out the extra days that I paid through a third-party now the $543 is unaccounted for Yet they still did not accommodate me it overdrafted my card I’ve been here for about a month and a half and nothing they can’t do anything. They can’t give me a free room. They can’t give me my money back. They can’t explain why they took it. I just have to wait. There’s no freaking way. I’m highly disappointed because I thought nothing but good things about this hotel but now I am truly devastated and I have still not gotten my money back. Sidenote, one of the receptionist told me that this isn’t the first time that happened & that they don’t care.

We've stayed here several times in the past couple years and loved it. However, there is a new owner, and the place has fallen into disrepair. The room was filthy. Surfaces were streaked with dirt and grime. The phones didn't work. The TV didn't work. The couch that opened into a bed had dirty, very obviously used, sheets on it. We were told (not housekeeping) to use a plastic bag and remove them. You have to pay to have housekeeping clean your room - even if you're staying for several days. You have to go to the front desk to ask for ice. They no longer have towels out at the pool. There are no vending machines. Breakfast was available in the morning but the rest of the day and evening there was no restaurant, no courtesy coffee or water available. There was no manager available in the evening hours when we were in the hotel. I've written a couple texts, and mailed a letter, both had pictures included, showing the condition of the room and explaining how sad it was to see this beautiful property falling apart. The letters mentioned the patched-up walls, the scraped-up elevators and the surprise additional $11.50 daily charge for "resort fees". No one has ever replied. Sadly, I wouldn't recommend staying here to anyone.

Great location and Great value. Hotel served its purpose.
We were blessed to stay on the 11th floor. We didn’t see or hear many people on our floor, which was great.
However, upon arrival I did notice several things that can easily be fixed. There was mold in between the tiles in the shower, the pizza menu was laying on the floor soaking wet, you couldn’t change the thermostat ( cover also did fall off ) and there were some rust spots on the TV stand. My mother and father in-law stayed in the other building and had issues with their toilet.
You need to give them your ID in order to use a luggage cart and there’s a $35 charge to clean your room daily. Not sure the reason why but I feel that should be included with the price you pay.
Not sure if I would stay here again.

Not sure how this hotel qualifies as a “4 star hotel” but we booked it as a cheaper option while attending a trade show.
Suggest spending a little more and getting a better place that has a lobby bar / cafe & at least some atmosphere.. felt like a ghost town.
Don’t expect any food or drinks at the hotel, their kitchen is closed, no vending machine either, this could be helpful as guests need bottles of water.
Shitty coffee machine in your room which looked old and wouldn’t even bother using it.
There’s no housekeeping either, but available at an extra cost.
Our room was spacious due to having 2 king beds. Cleanliness was ok and staff were friendly.
Waiting for hot water for your shower is hilarious. Takes about 10mins to come through and when it does, it’s gone before you know it.
Kids staying were super noisy and seemed to echo through the room walls.
Hotel fees included access to the fitness Centre which we couldn’t locate or see signs for.
Location was not great for our trip and felt like you’re in the middle of nowhere.
The weather was rainy during our stay so we had to uber a lot.
We were lucky to check in early as we had been traveling a lot. Just disappointed as we expected more out of the hotel due to the photos.
Set your expectations for a nice motel..
