Best Western Old Colony Inn in Alexandria

It's perfect and everything you need. Clean, friendly staff, shuttle to/from airport and metro stop, and includes snacks! Deserves a stay.

Four star service in a three-star hotel. The rooms don't need to be updated so much as they need to be cleaned and have some maintenance done. One of the bed frames had pieces of metal sticking out and my aunt kept barking her shins on them. The caulking around the bathtub was coming up in several places. The fixtures cover plates were coming up. And many things look like they hadn't been cleaned. A giant blob of orange goo on the wall under the sink where you normally would put your toilet kit, leftover toothpaste covering the bathroom sink fixtures.

There was also the bad experience we have breakfast. We were told the breakfast ended at 9:30 so we showed up at 8:30 and found that there was no more eggs or sausage or cream. They were out of great number of things already. Thinking maybe it was a fluke the next morning we went down and once again they were out of most of the food.

This app is where the place shines. Mr Mohamed at the front desk is kind and friendly. We ended up with a room on the second floor even though I had a stroller, and he helped me bring it upstairs every time. The different gentlemen that drove the shuttle bus were kind intended to help me get the car seat in and out and put the stroller in the back.

We were told him this on the phone that with our AAA discount it would be a hundred 32 a night. Somehow it ended up being 95 for the first night and then a hundred fifty for the next two nights and then we were charged $15 a night for each of our two cars. This was all before taxes.

So in the end, friendly staff but we won't be staying there again.
