I stayed at the Marriott Marquis Washington for four nights and found it to be a traditional, full-service hotel offering a fairly standard experience. While the overall stay was comfortable, there were a few aspects worth noting.
Service: I requested a blanket and a kettle, and while the items were eventually delivered, it took nearly an hour, which felt a bit slow for a hotel of this caliber.
Breakfast...
Overall my stay was good - the hotel is well located, and has many options for food and necessities. The room was ok - bed linens were worn, the usb outlet by the desk didn’t work, but overall everything was clean and pleasant. I found the shower water handle a nice touch - you can start the shower and control water temperature on the side, without getting in. I had an unpleasant experience at the...
It is a good location to access the convention center and the Metro station.
The hotel in downtown Washington is very convenient. There is an Apple store next to it. You can walk or take a taxi to the White House Obelisk in the United States. There is a bar on the first floor of the hotel. There is a free laundry room. The gym is also good after trying it. It has two floors.
Breakfast took a time to wait! The Beer lab waiters and waitresses were very rude
Vacation to Washington DC, and booking a room at this hotel really helped my trip. The place is clean, the staff is also friendly.

Gorgeous gardens!!! Always love this hotel. Its the second convention I have done and stayed in for. The breakfast is amazing, just the best I have ever had at a hotel. Its on the concierge level. There is a sauna, which is great, but one of the highest perks is the vintage decor throughout many wings of the place and the overall fantastic job at decorating and apportioning rooms.
Plus...most important...
Stay one night at the hotel and it was not too bad. So lets start with the check in. I arrived about 2 hours early before the given time for check in and was able to get to my room early. The room was a nice size and up to standard of clean. I was worried due to others review comments but I can say that I notice no weird stains or no bed bugs. The only downfall with the room was that out of 5 power...
The location is great and easily accessible. The lobby is very nice and large with a nice bar area. The rooms in the central tower are fine - a bit dated and old. Glad to have a mini fridge though, and overall very quiet. Nice new TV in the room.

It's a very nice hotel. I've stayed several times here for professional events and it is well kept and managed professionally and hospitably. We did actually have the door latch somehow get latched by itself when we left our room and had to have a hotel engineer come to...
Huge conference venue, awesome service and support by hotel staff. Executive lounge offers yummy snacks and breakfasts. Flora and her team go out of their way to greet you and make you feel comfortable. Nice rooms, wish they had a better dinner restaurant/options. Harry's Pub OK, pricey but convenient. Their room service/FreshBites offer a nice selection at reasonable cost.
Very nice hotel. Amazing reception area with very professional staff to wait on you. Nice location in upscale DC neighborhood. Room was nice but a bit small. Could use a little updating. Will definitely stay again.

Very nice and elegant hotel with full facilities inside, including a restaruant, a bar, a coffee shop/grocery, and even gift shop. Would come to stay here again if come back to Washington.
I love the place. It’s convenient and easy access to tourist spots in the town.
Location is about 15 min walk to Metro station but if you are driving it is difficult to get out of there in rush hour traffic. Room is quite small, aircon was very noisy and woke me up in the wee hour of the night. Parking is outrageous, $56 per day. They give you a $25 voucher to spend in their shops but the prices are steep.
I arrived a bit earlier, but my room was not ready. Okay, I can understand that.
Going to the bell desk they tell me I need to pay when I get my luggage. Once I got my luggage, no one asked me to pay.
I had a breakfast included but was leaving too early: of course, they do not provide lunch boxes, although they do sell them.
The service is rather bad for a 300$ room.
A decent old hotel. But it us atill Hilton.
I booked the $200 high-floor king room because the $100+ twin room was shown as fully booked. However, when I arrived at the hotel, I was told that the king room was unavailable and only the twin room was left.

The room is clean, but the service is not good. It is a three-minute walk from the Congress
The hotel itself is impeccable and very ideal. Unfortunately, this area is too business-oriented, there are no supermarkets and few restaurants, which makes life a bit inconvenient.
I’ve stayed before but never left a review, but that’s not what this is about. What excellent service provided by the valet parkers and its management. Yep you read that correctly this review is for how great the valets are. As a business professional tasked with needing to drive my boss around DC finding parking to pick up is never easy. Never in my life has a valet come to the car. I was parked in...
My room had a great view. The staff was very friendly and warm. I loved all the amenities! My room was cozy and clean. I very much enjoyed my stay here and can’t wait to visit this location again very soon. Thank you Hyatt Regency and Afrouz at the front desk
The staff was friendly, attentive, and professional. The rooms were clean and fresh. The location of the hotel made the value of the fees well worth it.
Walking distance to all things DC. Short walk to union station was nice.
Strongly recommend
This hotel has a good location, and the service throughout the hotel feels a bit like a state-owned unit. The front desk had a poker face and no manners. Called to ask what time breakfast ends and the answer was that there is no free breakfast, you have to pay. I said my order included breakfast, and I was asking you what time it would end. The other person said oh yes, your order includes breakfast...

A fantastic hotel, great location and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly
Very thoughtful service, clean room
Good location, good environment, good hygiene
Total crap! I didn't like the hotel. Queues at the reception. Bad soundproofing. Be careful, the hotel charges an extra $30 upon check-out for free wifi and other nonsense. There was no hot water in my room at this "luxury" hotel, and they charge $30 for additional services.
The environment is very good, the bed is big, but there are compulsory consumption
Big room with reasonable price. The check-in and check-out procedure were all smooth.

Overall a great stay. Everything you come to expect from Marriott. Great beds, excellent service and perks. Unbeatable location. The only negative is the always dirty and severely stained front entrance and carpet. Being that it’s your first impression when you walk in, it definitely takes away from the experience.
Comfort, luxury, and calm all wrapped into one. The service was impeccable. Room was serene, and thoughtfully designed! Exactly what you’d want after a full day in the city. The energy of the hotel itself felt special and undeniably DC. I walked in expecting a great stay… and they delivered seamlessly.
Exceptional Hotel Experience – A Must-Stay in DC!
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
My stay at the JW Marriott Washington, DC was truly exceptional! From the moment I arrived, the service provided by the entire team—including the reception, the concierge/doormen, and the housekeeping staff—was outstanding.
It is absolutely worth it to become an Elite Member; the perks and recognition elevate the entire experience....
I’m surprised that this hotel is rated as well as it is.
The conference I attended was well organized and the staff dedicated to that experience were great. The stay itself? Yikes. No hair dryer to be found, no fan in the bathroom, the walls are paper thin, my digital key took 5-6 swipes each time I wanted to enter my room (validated this with 3 different keys), the wifi is slower than molasses (and...
It's an older hotel, and the facilities are just so-so. The service is good and the staff are very enthusiastic. But the soundproofing is really bad, it's outrageous. You can hear people talking in the corridor
Good hotel, good location, not far from Congress and the White House, normal service, not bad, but unfortunately there is no supermarket around. There are only western restaurants nearby, no Chinese restaurants.

The hotel was absolutely wonderful. Our room was gorgeous. It was located on a corner and we had a wonderful view of DC that kept our 2 young children very occupied. Great Fitness Center, luxurious ambiance, yet not stuffy. A special shout-out to the concierge Nicole. Apart from the friendly staff, there is nothing good about the hotel. The room is old and does not feel particularly clean.
It is conveniently located with a comfortable airport shuttle every 30 minutes.
Great for sightseeing in DC and Alexandria.
The hotel environment is clean and tidy, with a laundry room, a refrigerator, and its own convenience store, which is very convenient. The bed size is large, recommended to stay.

Had a 4-day stay with my husband for an event. Here is a honest review:
Good:
1. Good location with good restaurants nearby
2. Staff are friendly and kind and always try to accommodate your request
3. Clean and the hotel food is not bad
Not so good:

Nice hotel. Rooms were clean and seemed fairly updated. Staff was all nice and helpful. A good option for close to the airport. The shuttle to/from airport is convenient. Only drawback is it's not close the national Mall and Museums or to the Metro. Prepare to take a taxi/Uber.
Nice hotel, we stayed 3 nights. Had a room close to the elevators and ice maker which was loud at times. Waiting for the elevators (they have 6) was lengthy if they were busy with a function. Shuttle from and to airport was great. Food options was good as well.
Stayed at this hotel for a convention and they were awesome! There were two conventions going on at once but they did not miss a beat! Beautiful pool and REALLY nice gym! The sky dome
Cooper and Seth made our stay amazing. Honestly I have stayed in hundreds of hotels and this stay is the best experience ever!

We got our room online through a third party website. We paid 1/2 of what the room cost. The parking garage was tight, cars were packed in like sardines. The labels on the elevator were a little confusing. Lobby and lower level both had "L"s. The lobby was gorgeous with a full bar and as promised fresh cookies. The room was clean and smelled great. We had a mini fridge but no microwave. The view...
Like the Skydome restaurant unfortunately it has been upgraded to very expensive from quite reasonable as I remember it in the past. While it used to be open earlier it only opens for dinner now and the prices are high. Fantastic views on a revolving dome. You are paying for the view and it's a good one. Fabulous views of the Pentagon the Washington Monument, and many other things.
I was in Washington DC as a chaperone with a youth group. The hotel was quiet and clean. The hotel was convenient to many places we wanted to visit. The only complaint is that buses were not allowed on the hotel property so we had to unload around parked cars on the street and then carry our baggage to the hotel.
Pretty nice hotel! Near the airport which my grandson loved seeing the planes. Was hard finding parking in the garage one evening and it was pretty tight. 2 night stay and was only able to get cookies when we checked in....other times they were out.

Hotel room was clean. Place needs to have a continental breakfast after all it is a Marriott. I was very disappointed the room had a coffee maker in there which was fine. The coffee provided was terrible the creamer packets were terrible. Other than that the hotel room was great
A clean, comfortable and very nice place. I like that it is in a good location. The only thing I did not like was that when we got to the hotel wanted to check-in the receptionists did not know how to open our reservation (which we have created it a week before our check-in day) they lasted about half an hour trying to find our room, until they could finally find it.
Great location, walking distance to metro station and Georgetown is just a bridge. Very friendly and helpful staff. The heater in the room didn’t work though I got it checked couple of times. The place is undergoing major renovation too!
Oldest Marriott still operating, and it still looks great! The customer service is excellent and the rooms look like they got a refresh recently.
Recently remodeled and nicely furnished, but it won't be my first choice if I'm ever in the area again... There different are conventions, parties, and tour groups crowding public areas and charging loudly up and down the halls each day.
And charging $22 for breakfast would make a lot more sense if it was something different and better than every other hotel's complimentary continental buffet!
The top floor ballroom/area has a great view. The garage is easy parking. My company has had events there for the past few years. The appetizers are always great. The lunch is usually lacklustre, but that not unexpected. Could also be the price point of my company. Clean and spacious. Staff is very attentive.

This hotel had a lot of nice details, decent rooms and great service except for a few issues.
1. There was a roach next to the mini-fridge.

Not the best Ritz
Odd location. Didn’t feel right for a Ritz to be attached to a mall. Friendly service as always. Weird headboards - seems minor but uncomfortable to sit in the bed.

It's very close to Reagan Airport, and a little further from Dulles Airport, but not too far either; a taxi ride would cost a few tens of dollars…
The rooms are spacious and clean. The lobby entrance is a bit small. Transportation is extremely convenient; the Pentagon City subway station is right outside the lobby, and it's only four stops to Washington, D.C. The Pentagon shopping district is nearby.
I am very satisfied with the hotel facilities and cleanliness.
Although the hotel is a bit old, it still guarantees the quality of a four-star hotel. The location of the hotel is also quite convenient for dining and shopping.
