Muxlisabegim Hotel in Bukhara

The hotel has a beautiful patio, which creates a lovely first impression. However, it’s important to note that you can’t get there directly by taxi. You’ll need to walk about 3–5 minutes from where the taxi drops you off — something to keep in mind if you’re carrying heavy luggage.

Cleanliness was not great. We found two insects in the room and some hair in the bathroom. The fridge had visible mold, so we couldn’t store anything in it. On the positive side, the staff were kind enough to let us use their fridge on the day we checked out.

Breakfast is served individually, but even though I requested a vegetarian option, the processed meat wasn’t replaced with cheese. The fried eggs were cooked in the same oil as the sausage, which was disappointing if you’re vegetarian or sensitive to meat flavors. We also had to wait quite a while for breakfast — on the first day, it took 25 minutes, and on the second day, 40 minutes. So if you have something scheduled, be aware that the service may be slow.

There’s no daily water refill in the room, unlike other places we stayed in Uzbekistan. Also, although guests are told not to throw paper in the toilet (which is common), there was no room cleaning during our 3-day stay, so the bin was left full.

We appreciate the efforts of the owner’s grandson, who really tries to help. But overall, for the price, we had better experiences elsewhere in Uzbekistan.
