My husband stayed here with my son almost 2 years ago and now we came and stayed here again for 2 nights with our two children in August 2025. The location is brilliant. The owner is very friendly and he remembered my husband and my son, which was nice. Breakfast is very very tasty, samsa especially. We liked everything about this hotel and highly recomend it to everyone who is planning their trip to a besutiful Samarkand.

I have stayed in many hotels by now, but in terms of hospitality and service, this hotel was by far the best I have ever experienced. They truly took care of everything. We lacked nothing. We were allowed to check into our room well before the official check-in time. A special breakfast table was prepared for us upon arrival. They took care of our train tickets. On the day we traveled by train, an early breakfast table was arranged for us, even though it was before the usual breakfast hours. There was no charge for the hotel transfer. All of this is not something you can take for granted these days. Furthermore, the entire staff was consistently very friendly and helpful. It felt very much like visiting a relative abroad — warm and family-like. The rooms were always very clean. The breakfast was consistently good and varied. The location was excellent. The hotel was right in front of the Gur Emir Mausoleum and not far from the Registan. So, if you’re looking for a hotel in Samarkand, don’t bother looking further — just book this one. Highly reccommend end.

I didn't want to leave..

Superb location – the view from the terrace is absolutely breathtaking, overlooking the Gur-i Amir Complex. It’s a great starting point for exploring the city on foot, with small shops nearby. The hotel is intimate, quiet, and peaceful. The room was very clean, as was the bathroom. The breakfast was wonderful – everything was fresh and diverse. Additionally, we received fresh fruit in our room every day. Guests have access to coffee, water, and tea on every floor.

I haven’t seen such a caring and dedicated host in a long time – even though I don’t speak Russian well, we communicated without any issues. We arrived in Samarkand after a long journey filled with adventures, both suffering from food poisoning after our stay at the previous place. As soon as the host realized we weren't feeling well, he took care of us, checking multiple times to see if we needed anything and if our health was improving. He even prepared very easily digestible dishes for us at breakfast:) We felt very well looked after.

Stayed for 3 nights in Hotel Vazira. It is a small family run hotel right next to the Gur-e-Amir Mausoleum. The thing to remember is that it is a family run small hotel and therefore, it is best to keep expectations in check. The owner is always around and is happy to help when required. The check-in and checkout process was smooth keeping in mind that it is best to use cash either Uzbek Som or USD both of which are accepted as payment modes.

We had booked the family room which had 3 single beds next to each other with 2 small side tables between the beds. The room was on the 2nd floor. There is no elevator and therefore, it is the stairs to go up and down. The owner did help in bringing the suitcases up the flight of stairs.

The room itself was quite tiny in size with no much space around the beds. The bathroom was functional and decently spacious. Hot water was available as well. There was a split AC in the room.

Just outside the rooms, the owner had kept a water cooler which dispensed both hot and cold water. There were coffee and tea bags kept next to the cooler. A nice touch. On the top floor, the view of the Gur-e-Amir is quite good although not so much for photography as the overhead electric cables spoil the view.

The breakfast was quite good with some vegetarian options. The owner was around and was accommodating requests from guests. We asked for yogurt and we got yogurt drink instead which was quite nice. On the last day, we arrived a bit late at 10:30AM from early morning site seeing and the owner was very nice to still have the breakfast around for us.

We had booked a taxi through the hotel from the Samarkand train station and the taxi person was there on time. It was an uneventful ride and of course, paid 2X of the Yandex fare which is expected. We did book a day tour to Shahrisabz through the hotel and the same taxi person took us to and from Shahrisabz. We left at 9:00AM in the morning and were back by 4:00PM in the evening. The taxi drive was quite okay as we told that we wanted a safe journey with careful driving.

The hotel is within walking distance from Registan, about 10-15 minutes by walk. Yandex taxis are available too from outside the Gur-e-Amir mausoleum and the Yandex fares rarely cross 20000 Uzbek Som (1.5 USD) to any of the tourist spots.

During checkout, to go to the train station we booked a Yandex taxi which come to the entrance of Gur-e-Amir mausoleum. It is about 30 steps away from the hotel. The owner helped with the luggage and saw us off.

Keeping in mind that it is a small hotel run by a family, we were quite happy with the stay. As said previously, keep expectations in check and the stay will go fine.
