It's right in the heart of town just beside St Joseph's cathedral. The soothing bells of the cathedral chimes every 15 mins. It is a basic place, with a working air con and working heater. Value for money. They provide minimal - bathing towels, hair dryer, toilet rolls, tooth brush, drinking water and they pack the room daily. The blanket is a thin bedsheet.

TERRIBLE AND HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE PLEASE DO NOT BOOK HERE. FILTHY BATHROOM AND IT WASNT EVEN WHITE AND THE BLANKET WAS A THIN LAYER OF CLOTH. UNWELCOMING FEMALE STAFF WHO SIDE EYED ME QUITE A FEW TIMES WHEN I SAID ILL CHECK OUT OF THIS FILTHY HOTEL. BUGS AND ROACHES EVERYWHERE AND THE MINI FRIDGE WASNT EVEN WORKIG WELL. FILTHY AND DISGUSTING AND VERY LOUD WITH KIDS RUNNING AROUND AND I LITERALLY STILL HAVE BUGS BITES FROM THIS HOTEL. I WANTED A REFUND SO BAD BECAUSE IT WAS TOTALLY NOT WORTH THE MONEY.

The facilities are very poor. The room I stayed in for one night smelled so bad that I couldn't sleep, so I asked to change rooms the next day and went to the 5th floor. There was no smell, but the bathroom facilities were very poor. It was really the worst except for the location.

Great location but be aware you are 20 meters from a church, Bells will go off at all kinds of hours. for some reason a massive bell ringing at 5am! Advertised as free breakfast, but they don't serve breakfast. I asked about breakfast and they just kind of laughed

Very close to the church, we can hear the bell several times in a day. We can also see the church from our room. We can hear some noise from street but it's very quiet after 12. The furniture and equipment is old but ok.

Not only is this charming boutique hotel in Hanoi’s Old Quarter perfectly located, it also delivers impeccable service. The manager, Tom, and his entire staff are incredibly polite, welcoming, responsive, and helpful. When I arrived via the hotel’s convenient airport transfer on a rainy afternoon, someone from reception immediately rushed out to shield me with an umbrella and bring me inside. Such hospitality extended to every imaginable aspect of my stay, and the staff interacted seamlessly with the many tour operators who arrived at various times to pick up my friend and me. Church Legend also functions as a travel agency, and while my friend and I made most of our arrangements with an outside travel agency, we did seek advice from Tom for our last day in Hanoi. The motorbike tour he recommended and booked for us was absolutely amazing. Finally, as other reviewers have noted, the hotel’s breakfast is delightful, consisting of a mix of Vietnamese and Western selections served up fresh each morning by a charming cook.

The location is excellent and convenient, near to many eateries & POIs. Although situated in a quiet lane, that's another positive... Away from the traffic noise. The room and toilet are clean, with a boutique touch of Chinese aesthetics.

The breakfast has a good spread, served on the top floor. The staff is friendly, helpful and accommodating. On our last day, we went touring after checking out but left our bags at the hotel for safe keeping. We came back early before departing for the railway station. We stayed in the lounge to rest. One of the staff served us lime juice, while another gave us some sliced water melons. It's a wonderful gesture of their hospitality even though we'd checked out.

Staff members were very nice and helpful. We booked through the hotel a two day, one night boat tour to Halong Bay. It was great. The rooms were clean and the breakfast good. The location is perfect. A few minutes to go to old quarter and best street food location around the hotel.
