Reviews
We stayed at the garden bungalow and could do with a lick of paint but that's nothing major.
The beds are hard as a rock compared to where weve all been traveling around Veitnam.
We reported the shower was leaking into the bedroom 3 times and they denied it including the woman I spoke to - I had to show them the video and photo of my notes and who I spoke to. The fixed it the night before we checked out.
The pool is not safe for toddlers - if in the UK or Canada would be shut down due to all the broken tiles, sharp edges and faulty stairs. Just not very safe for young ones.
Drilling security cameras in and banging at 6.30am was not ideal either...
The restaurant staff are lovely and always great service. The vegetarian is not always vegetarian as broth often has fish/beef etc in it.
The cleaners ruined a towel from our room stating it was died pink...and they tried to charge us for it. We spoke to other guests at the bar and apparently it is quite common for this to happen.
This resort could be great but the priorities on repairs and upgrades just don't make sense. You also have to walk through a grotty side street to get to the resort that often has rotten rubbish and fish boxes from the MANY Russian hotels around the area.
Check the water pressure and shower temp before accepting the room also.
Considering the cost there are better resorts for your money unfortunately. We always support independents but in this case it was the wrong decision.
- The photos online were misleading as the reality was far more dated
- there was a strong sewerage smell from the bathroom that spread into the room
- The bathroom itself was poorly maintained: mold on the tiles, and a shower screen with missing doors
- Mattresses were uncomfortably hard, and the in-room safe wasn’t even secured in the wardrobe which was also broken
- The layout felt odd, with newer buildings positioned in front of older, run-down ones
- Several staircases seemed unsafe, with one featuring a “foot wash” at the base that looked like a step
- Overall, the property appeared run down and neglected
- outlet / waste pipes from the hotel and others along this beach flow directly onto the beach
- The beach itself was almost unusable, littered with rubbish that made walking unpleasant. As a result, we never swam at this beach
- Staff rarely smiled and gave off an air of indifference toward guests
- The general atmosphere was unwelcoming, which added to the disappointment
- We were never greeted upon arrival at breakfast
- Staff seemed unapproachable, more focused on scraping dishes next to diners rather than offering any service
- Much of the food was cold, chewy, or dry, with no rotation or freshness
- The teapot was empty and stained, bowls and cups were missing, and milk was unavailable
- The only cereal option was a stale mix of cornflakes and Coco Pops - no other choices
- The restaurant itself felt shabby, though the downstairs dining area did have a nice view and more friendlier staff — still, the overall impression was rough
We had originally booked for seven nights, but from the moment we arrived, something felt off. After two nights, we chose to move elsewhere for the remaining five nights. While reception staff were polite about this, they were not willing to come to an arrangement for a partial refund despite us forfeiting most of our stay. We didn't expect this but it would have been courteous.
This resort mighy suffice for travelers on a strict budget with minimal expectations, but for international visitors, it falls far short of the advertised three-star standard. We did not find it relaxating or comfortable. For us, it was a long way to travel only to end up with such a disappointing experience.
The reason we moved to Orange resort was, it was clean, the staff very friendly and even after 1 day knew our names. Great beach bar which also served an excellent meal and cocktails. The bungalow room was a good size, with coffee and tea facilities, a good size safe, umbrella and flip flops and all have a table and chairs on the veranda plus a drying rack for your wet beach gear. The breakfast was big with a choice of local or western.
This resort was cheaper that the one we were staying in but hands down worth a lot more. We will return and be tell everyone!
Suggest to have somewhere to hang wet swim clothes on veranda/room. Bridge into pool area bit spiky for bare feet.
But the staff of this resort by far were the friendliest and the most supportive.
- The gardens around the bungalows were exceptionally beautiful with flowers everywhere, such amazing scenery to see every morning.
- The swimming pool was always clean, same as the beach.
- A highly recommended resort.
