Where to stay in Sydney

Mattresses extremely hard and uncomfortable. Felt like cheap mattresses. Laundry facilities fine, but you have to pay for a wash and for a dryer. Front desk is only staffed from 8-7. Given 1 towel/person and you have to pay for more. Freezer of refrigerator awful because it accumulates ice (not frost free) so you can't fit anything in. Cheap/small ice tray to make ice. Toilet paper is not great quality...

Checked in and 1st room aircon did not work. Eventually changed to different room. Much bigger than original room which had a very tiny bathroom. At first it being part of a church felt a little odd, but that feeling was quickly forgotten. The room was a great size and was very comfortable and clean. The breakfast was perfect. A wonderfully serene stay in the heart of North Sydney. Only a short stroll to the trains, beaches, shopping etc. My room was very clean with modern amenities. I also appreciate the friendly staff and complimentary brekky. Loved visiting the beautiful chapel for prayers and mass as well. All in all, top notch!

Beds and linen were great and comfy. Bathroom was absolutely filthy and there was absolutely no water pressure in the shower so was pointless having one. Sometimes used soap cake was sitting ontop of the shampoo bottle holder, toothpaste on the shower wall as well as hair and the floor was putrid. If the bathroom was clean, our stay would have been near perfect.

Great stay for a night. Had everything I needed and was clean. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the noise coming from behind the hotel in the park. But that soon died down around 11-11:30pm and I had a restful sleep.

Service was excellent. Unfortunately, the room was close to the screen door that would slam shut every time someone went through it, so I was unable to sleep well.

This place is affordable and its location makes it convenient to get around. The podbeds are interesting and impressive similar to capsule hotels I lived before. The improvement that should be made is the air-con which needs to be quieter when turned on.

This was the perfect place to stay. Great location and the appartment was fantastic. It had a kitchen and 2 bedrooms. It was nice a big. We loved being able to walk into the city or catch a ferry. I highly recommend this pace. We didn't have any issues with noise either. Its not far from the casino and there are lots or restaurants around including hurricanes.

The only thing I can say might bother a lot of people is that the walls are pretty thin. You’ll be able to hear anything louder than a whisper outside. This quiet hotel is perfectly located just 200m from King's Cross train station and walking distance to Circular Quay. For the price it is a good place to stay especially if you’re solo travelling and close to the station. There was a few insects in my room however it’s Australia so I understand these things happen and they did come to spray my room after then had no issues. The bed and bathrooms were always clean, good WiFi and friendly staff.

Very basic room with a shared bathroom above the Shakespeare hotel pub. Beds were comfy and the room was clean, the shared bathrooms need a renovation and deep clean. The location is the main draw card and the pub downstairs is quite nice.

Good venue however the sunday roast was really tough (beef roast). There was quite a bit of gristle ? maybe we got a poor cut but it was meant to be sirloin and cost $29. Vibe of the pub was good and has some heritage charm. Maybe we will skip the food next time and just go for a drink and live music.

An absolute gem in Surry Hills. Wonderfully cosy and comfortable with a good drink selection and food menu. A place I love to sit and spend an afternoon or evening, as at ease as if I was in my own living room. The upstairs area is especially pleasant. The apartments are beautifully renovated and feel brand new. The location is top notch, but unfortunately you do hear the busy street at night, even at a higher floor. However, that is the price you pay of staying in the city. The staff was super kind and I would definitely come back!
