The Urban Newtown, Sydney1 / 30
8.7
Sydney, 52-60 Enmore Road (60 min from centre) 🧭 Map
Considering the prices of accommodations near Sydney's city center, this place in Newtown, just a few subway stops away, offered great value for money. From its impressive exterior to the lobby and the rooms, everything was clean and the housekeeping was decent. The room felt a bit small, but it wasn't a big inconvenience since my trip was more about outdoor activities than a staycation. Plus, having...
Perfect location to go to the Enmore Theatre and walk through Newtown. The hotel suggests places to eat with a discount. The rooms are very comfy with toiletries, mini kitchen, hair dryer and iron board. The hotel decor is amazing! Loved it.
The room was comfortable and nicely presented, with good amenities and a cozy atmosphere. However, if you are staying on Level 1, be aware that there can be some noise from passing cars, especially during busy traffic times. Light sleepers may want to request a higher floor.
Great location and nice rooms - although they would benefit from more lights in the centre of the room as it was a bit dark. Service wasn’t great, we arrived at 10.30pm and nobody was at the front desk in reception. There was a sign saying that someone would be right back. We waited half an hour and nobody showed, so we called the number on the sign. The number didn’t work so we had to find a different...
We stayed here for 5 days and 4 nights in the King Studio. The receptionist was friendly and usually available, and housekeeping kept the room clean and tidy every day 👍🏼 The room itself was quite small, including the bathroom. Once we opened our luggage, there was hardly any space left to walk, but it was equipped with all the basic necessities. Soundproofing could be improved, as we could still...

The room at world square was spotless.. it was close to everything .. I highly recommend APX World Square
The motel is very good, clean and near central station. And it was quiet, so we didn't get any disruption.
Very good clean and convenient
This apartment hotel is very spacious, but check-in took a while, and a deposit was required.
The room was quite spacious and even had a balcony, though it felt like it hadn't been cleaned thoroughly before I arrived. The bathroom was missing toilet paper, and the towels had some dust on them, so I had to go to the front desk to get new ones myself. A pleasant surprise was the in-room washer and dryer, which dried clothes really fast! The kitchen was large and fully equipped, and the air conditioning...
The hotel's location is convenient, and the room is quite spacious. The facilities are a bit old, and they only did a light cleaning once during my three-day stay. I don't understand why they needed to register all credit card details, including the CVV code, during check-in; other hotels don't do that.

The location is fantastic, with all the major attractions within walking distance. Dining and shopping are super convenient, and there are pharmacies and department stores nearby. The room is a bit small with basic facilities, and one of the bedside lamps was broken. The bathroom is also tiny. There was a slight odor in the room, and the air conditioning was quite loud. Soundproofing isn't great, but...
Great for a few days in Sydney. Simple hotel with decent studios, well equipped kitchen and washing machine and dryer. Very close to the center. The check in experience and the team at reception would probably need a bit more training on how to welcome guests.
The hotel reception was friendly, and the rooms were spacious and equipped with a washer and dryer and a kitchen, making them very convenient for a long-term stay. There are also many Chinese restaurants nearby (including Sichuan and Hunan cuisine, ma la tang, and rice noodle rolls), and the Broadway shopping mall is also nearby, making shopping very convenient. UTS is also very close, with all the...
The room was clean and tidy. The internet connection was terrible. Although someone came to fix it, it was still as bad. The hotel couldn't offer to change rooms. I guess it was just bad luck. The internet connection was terrible. Everything else was good.
Convenient location, quiet environment, average hygiene, service needs to be improved. Overall satisfactory.
It was overall a pleasant stay. My only complaints are that they didn’t provide room slippers and that the extra bed was very uncomfortable. The beds that came with the room were amazing though.

It's an old but very well refurbished hotel. The room is clean, microwaves and other basic utensils are also clean. The staff are friendly as well.
It was good stay, staff members were friendly
Excellent service and accommodation
The location is also convenient only 15 minutes from Artarmon And the hotel room is larger and overall clean, most importantly, high value for money 👍🏻 There is a dry and laundry service on the 2nd floor where you can wash all your clothes and take them home.
The front desk service was very good and the location was easy to find. It might be because the price of 160AU/night in the off-season was better than many apartments, so we moved here after staying in the apartment for 4 nights. It should be noted that the check-out time is early, which is 9:00-10:00 local time, and the check-in time needs to be after 14:00
Nice stay in a clean room. It is close to the train and bus which makes transport to the city easy. Only downside was the wifi. Of the 4 nights we only had wifi 1 night.

Extremely convenient, great bars down stairs. Great service.
Incredibly accommodating staff. Fancy & spacious room. Short walk to the harbor and lots of great food options.
We stayed here for one night and would not want to stay for longer due to the noise from surrounding bars/entertainment which went on until 3am. The room was large with a huge en-suite but needs to be renovated due to deteriorating/broken floor tiles. Could not fault the friendly helpful staff.
A hidden Gem in the heart of the city.. Amazing service from all the super friendly team… Rooms were a very good size and extremely clean… Adjoins a number of amazing bars and restaurants - including the famous Mr Wong’s. Definitely recommend a stay for anyone looking to experience Sydney.
Staff were great. room size was good. Noise was very bad with little to no noise insulation between the room and very large very loud bar which kept going to 3am on Friday and Saturday nights. Sunday had a wedding with live band running to midnight and Monday had nearby building works. If the owners could improve noise issues the Hotel would be great. As is we are unlikely to stay there again
the hotel was very good in comfort and location and also the hotel front desk team were most helpful

The location is not bad, a bit far from the city center but near to a bus stoppage. There is a KFC right beside the property.
Budget accommodation, budget price, small rooms, weird shower, quiet place ! Below average staff interraction
Small room but manageable. Convenient if driving with ample free parking available.
Good hotel only for transit near sydney airport and food
The good:- * About a 1 km walk to catch the train, & a bus stop across the road. Airport very handy. We got an Uber but next time we probably would get the train. McDonalds & KFC are next door to hotel. Room was very clean. Beds were very comfortable. · **Cleanliness beyond expectations:** Many older hotels have questionable carpets, but this one has faux wood flooring, so you can walk barefoot without getting dusty. The bathroom was free of mold, and the towels were pristine white and thick, which is better than many four-star hotels. · **24-hour front desk:** This is crucial when traveling internationally. I checked in smoothly at midnight, and...
Great location! It's a 10-minute walk to the State Museum, St. Mary's Church, and the State Art Gallery, and you can reach the Opera House by walking through the Royal Botanic Gardens. The hotel staff are really friendly!
it may be a little difficult to find the main entrance the first especially with luggages and the very different transportation options by google map but once u settled the location is excellent to anywhere. my stay was especially pleasure as all my meetings in downtown near QVB, China Town etc, a fifteen min walk was a great way to start and end the day. not to mention choices of eateries and perhaps...
Loved it , wish I could of stayed longer, so close to everything you would need and clise to transport
The room was really small, but it had a view of the Sydney Opera House. The service was quite responsive; when the door lock broke, they came to fix it right away. Since they couldn't repair it, they moved me to another room and even comped my breakfast.
The room is very tidy, near bus station. Staff is very helpful. Highly recommend for budget stay

The facilities are a bit old, but the service is good and it's convenient.
Very nicely located hotel for local transport, hospital, university, clean, with spacious and airy rooms. Mattress was though softer to my liking.
Very peaceful environment but a bit far from city center. Free parking and easy access to train station. Nice room with that price. Laundry is free. I see more insects during the stay probably due to very close to nature - lakes, tree.
Good location with many eateries within walking distance, although in front of main road room is quiet. Overall very satisfied with our stay.
Best value and best service around the Macquarie area!
Cleanliness of the room was great. Staff were very friendly and the location of the premises to where we were going for a wedding was good. Unfortunately the hotel is undergoing renovations at present and the walk from the hotel parking to the reception was not the best but I'm sure once these renovations are complete, the access door will be re-opened. Overall, I enjoyed our overnight atayhere.

Clean, good servicehad a pleasant stay at Mantra Chatswood. The location is definitely the highlight — right in the heart of Chatswood with easy access to shops, restaurants, cafes, and public transport. It’s very convenient whether you’re visiting for work or leisure. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with good amenities and a practical layout. Staff were friendly and helpful during...
The room was generally very dated, with incredibly old appliances like the oven and washing machine. All the facilities felt quite basic. Cleanliness was also just average, and the 'duvet' was literally just two sheets. On the plus side, the location was excellent, though parking cost 100 RMB per day.
We held our event at Mantra Chatswood for four consecutive days, and the experience was outstanding. The front desk service, especially from Front Office Manager Giji Joseph, was exceptionally swift and attentive—whatever we needed, he resolved it almost instantly, making our event run smoothly from start to finish. During our stay in a spacious 1-bedroom apartment, we were very impressed by how quiet...

The location is really great, with many trendy brunch spots nearby. It was lovely to spend a relaxed time with a park for strolls and museums close by. The hotel staff were friendly, and the room condition was excellent. The room was surprisingly spacious, making it comfortable for two people. It's also convenient to use the cafe on the first floor of the hotel! Highly recommend.
Clean, close to Darling Harbour and Circular Quay. Very friendly staff. Transportation is excellent.
It was a short but good stay. Very fast in the check in. When I went to my room it was clean and spacious! Definitely will recommend it to others and eill comeback to this hotel.
The room was very spacious and close to the museum, within walking distance, which was very convenient. There were also buses to the port, but there weren't many restaurants nearby, so there was no food available after checking in at night.
Coin-operated laundry makes this hotel perfect for my travel this time in the ugly weather in NSW. Thanks.
Very spacious room. The location is right at the heart of CBD. Very near bus stations.. will definitely recommend to others.

Facilities were let down a little by old fittings, old air conditioning units, lights, lamps, power-points etc. Otherwise nothing to mention... Staff did an excellent job in responding to our every request!
I chose this hotel for a short Sydney trip during a transit layover, thinking it would save time if I could see the Opera House from my room. The view was absolutely amazing! An older hotel, the room was clean, except the carpet needed replacing. Our balcony didnt have a very nice view, as we were only on the 2nd floor. The location was brilliant, they had a little sitting area just to the side of the pool which was very handy for us while we waited for late flight.
Location is excellent. The hotel needs some renovation especially for the rooms
This hotel’s location was absolutely perfect, very near to Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge, restaurants, shops and jetty’s terminals. The room itself was a bit musty due to old carpets and poor ventilation but besides that it was great.

Great, right next to a golf course. The view is incredible. Nice.
Lovely window view on the golf club, but just a little too early for maws.
The room was clean and tidy, with a modern bathroom kept to a well cleaned standard. Had an amazing view over the golf course which was a nice surprise and they have a nice little Korean restaurant attached to the building to grab lunch or dinner if you don’t want to travel to far, highly recommended.

The reception is unmanned, walking in to an empty lobby feels unfriendly. The rooms acoustics were very bad, with noisy aircon sound and water / flushing sounds from other units. There was no cabinet at all to store clothes, mattress was so soft, sleeping in it for 7 days caused bad backache! Not a very comfortable hotel to stay in.
Great service Fantastic coffee machine in the lobby. Tastes so good The room was also great
The hotel is very close to George St so that it is very convenient to get to the centre of the city. It is close to the Central Station as well but actually you need to pass through a 600 meters tunnel to the gate. It could be a bit difficult if you are having heavy luggage. The amenities are old but with such a price, it is worth to stay here if you are not expecting too much.
