Fantastic customer service and a well run hotel. The front office staff are amazing and were super nice to our two girls. Special mention to Ross and Deb for going that little extra mile that separates this place from the rest. The kids loved the pool and Xmas tree. Thank you for everything and we will be back

On arrival, no room ready & no where to wait apart from a chair in foyer. Got to room at last, threadbare, fraying carpet, sink blocked, when I ran the water it flowed up into the sink, grey & full of hair & sludge. Complained to staff, offered to move to another room, did so late at night.
New room was also terrible, threadbare carpet with rolls in carpet that I tripped over. Fridge was a rattler that made loud noise all night, bed had a big dip in it. No pillow cases. No luggage rack. Had a terrible night with no sleep. When I went to desk to check out a day early, I was told that as I had booked through an airline I couldn’t get a refund from the hotel, had to phone the airline. Extremely unhappy, I will never stay in a Rydges again.
Wish there was an option for minus stars 😡☹️

The place is old and really needs some work doing. Walls are paper thin. They had a party down stairs and it was so loud we couldn’t get to sleep til it had finished. Then we were woken by the neighbour showering at 6am on a Sunday. Room is nice and clean and beds were comfortable. Shower has a rainfall head which is annoying and looked to be falling out of the roof. Drainage isn’t great, so the bathroom almost flooded.

On arrival, we were told the lift was out of order. We were given a drinks card for the bar as compensation for the inconvenience and were able to use the service lift to get our luggage to our room but we felt extremely unsafe in that life.

Okay stay for one night, maybe two, but certainly needs some general maintenance work doing.

+ The hotel is very nice very clean and very close to the city which is very good for us
- We were disappointed with the breakfast. Breakfast was cold and it was very difficult to lineup to order certain meals. I think there is a better way to serve the breakfast .

+ Close to my project. That's about all.
- Horrible service from the get go. Plenty of rooms avail but they made me wait until 1115am until 2.15pm to check in. The promised park view was an air-con duct roof view of next door. Then I moved... only to find a conference on level 4 with a PA system to rival the MCG. they would not turn it down. This was to go on for another 7 hours I was told. So I moved again in a bus to get some peace and quiet. Finally on the first floor, away from the noisy conference and metal roof view, I found my peaceful place... almost. Loads of screaming kids up and down the corridor. A big -ve is the lack of tactile odd braille signage on corridors and rooms. The couple in front of me probably spent the better part of their stay finding their room. I helped them ti the reception add no one else was going to... then to find the list as Will on reception simply pointed the direction. Yep. Really helpful when you're blinded. Finally I escorted them into the loft and pressed the desired button. Come on Rydges... make yourself compliment... don't be complacent.

Enjoyed our stay, nice clean room, comfortable bed, quiet. Really need to do something about a door for the shower, bathroom floor gets very wet. Downstairs bar was great, tapas was yum. Breakfast was good. Top floor pool looked like a great place to be on a hot day.

Spent two nights in a spa suite. The staff were friendly and helpful. The buffet was great. The room was a little dated and I hate the little milk servings the provided. I like milky coffee and was going down stairs three times a day to get more milk! However the spa was awesome! Better than anything I have seen in 17 years of hotel stays.

My husband and I have just come back from staying here. The staff are very polite and charming. The rooms were very nice and room service was excellent.

The environment was easily accessible. The availability of having a function was represented by business like environment but yet, the capability for other function types are available as well.

Do not order the seafood platter cause its just not good enough. The 5% service surcharge was not listed on our bill but was included in the total charge. Its the first time we went there and we knew nothing about that 5% service surcharge on top of the total expense. However, the surcharge was not listed on the receipt of the bill and the waitress asked me if I would like to leave tips. Since I already paid the surcharge why asked again? Perhaps Its because we are tourists from sydney so treating us like idiots makes a lot of sense. They should have at least listed the surcharge in that bill so that We would know that We have already tipped them and it would be our call weather we would like to tip them more. Just a very bad dining experience at this lygon street Italian restaurant. One of my friend at the table said that such dishonest behaviour is quite prevalent at tourist destinations in China but she did not expect that to happen here in Australia. I hope this is just an isolated incident in Melbourne’s most well-known restaurant community.

My Fiancee and I have been coming here for around 4 years for our anniversaries , we love the trio of pastas platter which consists of your choice of 3 different homemade pastas which are amazing.
We wholeheartedly reccomend this restaurant to anyone who loves great Italian food combined with a relaxed yet fun atmosphere.

New restaurant opened near where the old one was opened, much better located, better atmosphere, new decore, cheaper shisha i paid just $25 for fresh Apple head. New menu much cheaper than the old place. 292 lygon street was closed and moved to 280 lygon street carlton.
