My travel companion pre-booked one breakfast for the morning of May 4th the night before. After check-out, they deducted the cost of two breakfasts from our deposit. When we inquired with customer service and the hotel, they said the charge was based on the number of people booked in the room. Is this reasonable? It was made very clear at the time that we only wanted one breakfast, so why are they charging based on room occupancy? This is an incredibly predatory policy, just deducting whatever they want – it's ridiculous! They charge you for two even if you only eat one. Everyone, please beware and avoid booking this place; their practices are totally unfair and infuriating 😡. Keep an eye out, they'll find all sorts of excuses to overcharge your deposit!!!!!

We stayed 2 nights and our room after our first night was not made up by the cleaning staff. The beds were left unmade, the dirty towels left on the floor, the clean towels dumped on the unmade bed. I had to request that the room be serviced with reception, even though the 'service my room' light remained ON for the entire day. When I raised with reception at 2pm, the room remained un made for the next 3 hours when I again had to raise this with reception! The last thing anyone wants to have to do when they are away on a holiday is to have to manage the service/cleaning team for the servicing of their own room (not once, but twice).

The hotel and breakfast were lovely,the only thing that disappointed me was the heating in the room didn't function properly I asked reception after we checked on to have a look at it and set the temperature for us coming back later that evening,but the room was still very cold when we returned...

Conveniently located in the CBD, with Chinatown nearby, making shopping and dining very accessible. The breakfast is excellent and caters well to Chinese tastes, offering a good variety. It's also within walking distance to several attractions. Plus, the buses in the CBD are free!

The hotel's location is pretty good. The one-day tour I booked met right outside the Windsor Hotel, which was only a few minutes' walk away. Both Red Apple and Green Apple supermarkets are within walking distance, and Chinatown isn't far either, making evenings very lively. The hotel facilities are admittedly a bit old, but the hygiene is decent. Breakfast is just okay, but it's filling, and surprisingly, they even offered congee. When checking out, since I paid a cash deposit, I had to wait a while for them to inspect the room before I could get my money back and leave. After the room check, I realized I'd left a piece of clothing in the room. The staff brought it down for me, neatly folded and presented it with both hands, which I really appreciated!

The reviews mentioned the hotel was old, but I found it to be very well-maintained. The carpets were spotless, and there was no musty smell. As a family of three, the room size was more than sufficient. The location is also excellent, with a commercial district just a 5-minute walk away, which was incredibly convenient.

The hotel room was a very spacious and comfortable suite, perfect for self-catering. However, there are plenty of restaurants nearby. There's a steakhouse right downstairs that serves delicious food, and it's super convenient to order from there. Getting around from the hotel is also very easy.

Great location, super convenient for the New Year's Eve fireworks on the Yarra River as you can walk there directly. The room was spacious, but the facilities were old. Service was average, and breakfast was nothing special. Overall, good value for money.

Excellent eating experience. Different set meals priced individually and all the food cooked in front of you. Be ready for some ‘party antics’ with the chef!!

we had the last sitting at 9pm. my husband had set 3 and i had set 4, both were amazing and very filling. (although both sets said miso soup, we did not receive it) the environment is really nice, the only thing i found disappointing was our chef was not very interactive with anyone, didnt speak at all until the end when he asked us if we wanted to play a game. i was expecting some tricks whilst cooking, maybe some conversation to make it less awkward at the table as you sit with strangers. but overall a great experience.

Disappointing all round. Hired the private room at the back and their service was terrible. The waitress was looking at her phone all night in the corner and we had ask for everything, which appeared to be a massive effort for her. The manager was rude on arrival and delayed us a half an hour even though the room was clearly empty and ready. Set menu was tiny we all left hungry and the chef did nothing but a couple of games at the end. No atmosphere or entertainment the whole night and nobody seemed to care. Expensive price to pay for a terrible night out. Do not go! the only way they will make an effort is if they start getting quiet in there.

Food is good, but overpriced.
Really small portions, only for people either not hungry or with a petite stomach.

When asked the waitress for bread... she needed to ask the chef??
After five minutes she comes back saying the they do not serve bread during lunch time...

The dessert, chocolate fondant with ice cream, was smaller than a kids size meal.

Come back? no sir, thank you very much.

My brother had his wedding here on the weekend. They have excellent customer service, the set up of the restaurant is beautiful. Unfortunately a couple of dishes were not as nice as the others.

Got there at 6:35 PM and had to be at a show accross the road at 8. Were told we would easily fit 2 courses in by that time so we sat down. We ordered mains AND dessert at 6:45 and didnt get our drinks for 15 minutes and mains arrived at 7:25 the medium steak was below average considering the great reviews. Our table was left cluttered with wine glasses we didnt use and noone came to check on us or clear our table. We ended up paying and walking out before desert came. Only reason its a 3/5 is because the staff were very nice and took dessert off the bill.

Overall wont be returning.

Dined here recently and have experienced the worst customer service of 2017.
Upon presentation of the entertainment book voucher, the head waiter with the glasses had the audacity to laugh at my face loudly. That was completely unprofessional and would explain the other 1 star reviews on the restaurant.

Customer service was strange? The head waiter was incredibly rude and arrogant to customers. When trying to explain dietary requirements he spat at us 'you get what you're given'.

Truly excellent Italian, a table of four couldn't fault a single item. BYO wine which is great for in the city, recommend a later booking if you want a relaxing experience as can get very busy with pre theatre.

Yesterday was the second time I’ve eaten here before a show. We allowed plenty of time. I ordered an entree and a side dish. My husband ordered a pasta main. We enjoyed our meal however my side dish never arrived. When I asked they said well do you still want it. I did. It failed to come quickly and only arrived without time for me to finish it. The first time we went there with 4 people before a show one dish failed to turn up.. I’ll try somewhere else next time
