Where to stay in Sozopol

Just back from our second stay at the Selena, as normal a word for the staff who are a credit to the hotel. The cleaners never stop ,rooms are serviced every day, and public places kept very clean. Just got back from a week stay here and was very impressed with the friendliness of all the staff, and how spotlessly clean every part of the hotel was. Due to flight times we arrived at the Hotel Selena in the early hours of the morning, the taxi transfer taking about 35 minutes. A very well-designed place with a variety of attractions for the whole family. Beautiful gardens and a clean beach. Tons of good-quality food. The downsides were no fan in the bathroom and all the moisture staying within the flat. Also, the walls are very thin and you hear the next-door babies crying all night, as if they were in your room.

We had email communication around a wedding. We got an offer and we booked two nights to see what’s what. Turned out there are some hidden terms and conditions (not part of the offer, only mentioned after you pay for two nights) such as: we MUST use a wedding agency of theirs (including photo/video/everything) and well - that’s not how you make people come back.

I visited the complex only to see the sculptures garden. It is absolutely worth it. Maybe not all sculptures are great, but some are quite impressive. Their arrangement in close proximity to the sea and on top of the rocks is very good. All in all a beautiful site.

The rooms are spacious but a little dirty and the sheets are not completely clean either. The views and landscape are beautiful and they have a great collection of statues that make the place incredible. The restaurant food is terrible and expensive.

Last year we stayed in a self catering apartment. It was clean, had a kitchen and was fairy comfortable if not showing signs of wear. But no restaurant and no breakfast, very self catering by. Great customer service, not a bad breakfast and not a bad location. However, dirty rooms! The floor is dusty, the toilet seat was disgustingly yellow, and the sheets had stains. Also, mad expensive for what they offered. Wouldn’t recommend nor come back.

Hotel was spotless , staff were super friendly and nothing was too much trouble . Rooms were spacious and clean . Breakfast was fresh and filling . Over all a positive stay and we will most definitely be back next year !

Shared room but great for friends and family

The rooms are big, separate bathrooms for each room, balcony overlooking the garden and seaview, the hosts were very friendly, it is close to both Beaches in Sozopol, silend area, the beds were also more comfortable.

When we first came in, we handed the reception the papers from the travel agency with half-board written in them, nevertheless we were given pink bracelets which mean breakfast only. A very good hotel for the price. Good pool. Breakfast choice a bit limited. Cooked eggs is a choice of scrambled and boiled. No fruit juice but squash. Did not use the restaurant so no comment on that. No laundry service. Friendly and helpful staff. Wrist band identification tagging in operation. No noisy bars nearby so a good night's sleep is assured.

Had a perfect three nights here at the end of May. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis, having dinner on our last night. The food was excellent for both breakfast (plenty of choice) and dinner. We would definitely stay here again if we came back to Sozopol. We stayed here from 30 may until 2nd June.

A small family run hotel with a beautiful location. Modern standard rooms with aircon and fridge. A short walk to a nice beach. Beach towel is available at reception. Room cleaning service could be improved. Cleaning lady was 2 min in the room. We enjoyed our stay here.

Amazing folk guitar music show, the artist is very talented and loves playing. The atmosphere was superb, the view was amazing - you can see the sea and the ships passing, the pasta and wine were delicious and the service was also very good. Will definitely come back

Don't be fooled by it being a 3 star hotel you will get a very high level service. We stayed with a group of friends for a couple of days and everything was perfect. The rooms were clean and tidy. The pool was very nicely maintained. The breakfast was very pleasant and just there for the sake of having it we took advantage of it everyday. Very kind and helpfull staff, all request were fulfilled immediately. The rooms are clean and easy to reach even for the disabled persons. All the good restaurants, nightlife and the beach is accessible in 5 min. I would love to visit once again.

It was clean, very friendly staff, it is very close to the beach and also close to old town for evening walks, they have their own restaurant with a disconut for those who stay there. The breakfast is varied and you can ask for several portions if not enough. There is also underground parking at extra charge which is better then leaving the car on the side of the road on public parking.

I stayed there for the second time and would do it again. Perfect location. Acceptable breakfast. Clean rooms. Well organised bathroom where you can take a shower without having the whole bathroom under water. Friendly staff. Nearby paid parking 6BGN per day.

A nice, clean hotel with a close location both to the Sozopol old city and to Kavatsi beach. Both are about 15/20 min. walk from the hotel. The staff was very friendly and the room was clean and modern. It had everything you might need and we also had a small nice balcony with a view of the sea, which was a nice touch.

Wonderful place, 2 minutes from Bambo Beach. The service is at a very high level. In general, I recommend this hotel for your summer vacation, a quiet and peaceful place.

The hotel is cozy with modern interior. The rooms are comfortable with special polarized glass windows. The restaurant is acceptable but not working during the day and the night. Staff is working fine when they had enough sleep, otherwise they are moody. You don't need to purchase parking space because right the corner is plenty of for free.

The buildings and the common grounds are amortized and not well maintained. It’s wet and slippery around the pools. The restaurants are expensive for the quality of the food and the location. The apartment we rented was nice. There are several pools on the property, but if you don’t rent an apartment directly from the reception, you have to pay for the the pool and beach chairs.

We have been going here for 10 years. The only real problem is the food. Chef should be fired, F&b manager as well, long time ago. Not international standard. Cold food. Location is top and beautiful with a great beach near by. The base is pretty old though. It's definitely not a 5 star, more like a solid 3-star hotel. The room was excellent and the view too, but the thing that left the biggest impression was the friendly and helpful manager and his wife. They were ready to help with every problem, question and issue I had. I even had an accident outside the hotel and when I came back to the reception the manager helped me tie up my broken finger. They were cheerful and always ready to help!

This is a wonderful family run hotel on the is d of Rhodes. The owners are reallly welcoming and friendly from the moment you enter.
