This fantastic place which I've known for many years is now closed. The management said they could not withstand with impact of the pandemic. They have suggested they might reopen someday in a new form, maybe partly condo, but who really knows. The hotel has visited by many A-list people over the years, and I loved the restaurant as a place to impress visitors.

An iconic landmark and very upscale for sure. The suites here are beautifully put together. However, the gym is very lacklustre and the rooms don't let in enough natural light.

The city’s most personality-packed luxury option goes in with all guns blazing. No two rooms are alike, and furnishings come hand-picked by the owner, who brings back tapestries and carvings he likes.

Hotel St James is one of my favorite hotels in Montreal. This hotel is pure luxury, with a beautiful restaurant and SPA. Staff at this hotel are very professional and friendly. I must say the service is impeccable. I came here 10years ago and this hotel service is always the best not to mention its location. Rooms are very charming and tastefully decorated. The hotel is a boutique style and located in the heart of the old Montreal. Thank you very much for making our stay so special and for helping me celebrate my mother’s birthday in style. Looking forward to coming here again and again. Merci!

This is such a beautiful Hotel. We made a last minute reservation because we were accepted to Diner en Blanc in Montreal. The staff was really incredible. From the time we arrived and checked in, to the Concierge's guidance on local caterers, directions and recommendations to a liquor store and directions to the metro. It was a memorable stay and we'll definitely be back.

Very nice hotel in the heart of old Port in Montreal. Very clean and attentive service. Very nice rooms. Reasonable priced. Not extremely quiet inside the rooms . You can hear the cars from outside , especially if the exhaust is a bit loud. I was on the last floor and I could still hear the cars passing by in the middle of the night if I was awake. The bar inside the hotel is ok.

My own personal experience was garbage... I had alot of hair in my food I asked to have it looked over and the chef refused and said I was being rude..

We had a great time. My bavette steak was excellent and everyone else loved their meals as well. Service was perfect and the frites were fantastic (they keep bringing you more for free). Bringing our own wine was a great idea and brought the bill down ridiculously low. We all will be coming back here.

The food was extremely good. Great service as well! The only thing I found off was the atmosphere. There wasn't enough lights except at the table where you have your meal. I would still recommend this place. You will understand about the atmosphere when you go there on an evening.

Daylight Factory is just one of those places that catches your eye. Always crowded, whether it's during lunch time or in the evenings.
I've been interesting in trying it for a while now. What I didn't expect was how disappointed I would be.
First, the menu service makes it hard when you are in a big group as they don't serve anything to nibble on and if you didn't order an entree there is some wait time till the main meal comes. While they have selection of wine and beers, they do not have one for non-alcoholic beverages (juice/soda). I expected the food to at least be amazing but my plate was rather salty, no nuances in taste... seems like something that was prepped, frozen and made by reheating.
I've been told that they are better in summer and with a changing menu it's likely that if I were to repeat I'll have better experience... however I was sorely disappointed on my first visit. I might go back just for the vibe and the friendly staff.
