Olympia Hotel By Lodgo in Montreal

I use to stay there years ago. I loved it. Coming back to Montreal again after many years away I booked a room there. This place could not be more different. Gone is the customer service and the room was ridiculous. Small cramped and very expensive. Don't believe the prices they list. That is nothing more than click bait. Will never go back again.

The hotel overall is mid. Location wise is great. The room itself is quite small. During the night I can hear lots of noise from the hallway, people walking and it’s very loud.

Another thing I been trying to resolve with the hotel is my security deposit. They charged me $250 on the day I arrive. I checked out on Oct 20,2025 and the guy at the desk told me it would be 2-3 days for the deposit to return to my credit card. It has been a month I been waiting for them to return my deposit to my credit card.

We booked this hotel well in advance through Expedia (August 28) for a stay on October 3. When we arrived l late at night, tired and expecting a room we were told the hotel was overbooked and they had no room for us. No apology, no help, nothing.

The staff were rude, unprofessional, and could barely communicate in either English or French. They made zero effort to fix the situation, and we were left scrambling to find another hotel at midnight, in a completely unfamiliar city.

This was easily one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place.

It was a horrible stay. When we first entered the room there was a horrible smell of cigarettes. The ac was on when we entered as I assume this was to try to refresh the room and remove the smell of cigarettes.

For the price this is unacceptable. No room service, very few toiletries. It really feels like they want to save money by giving you only 1 shower gel and 1 toilet paper. The room needed refurbishment.

It gives the impression that it’s a nice hotel when you enter and see reception. But it’s a total scam. You can feel that the owner cares about having his or her pocket full of cash by not caring about customers and having a pleasant stay. Therefore, avoid at all cost, this hotel doesn’t even worth 30$ a night. At least try to remove the disgusting smell of cigarettes in the room. Careless.

The only good thing was the location. That’s all. Horrible.

Rent a room for the night. Oct 28 , 2023.mice in my room. Great staff - reception , good room design. Property said they had no other rooms available for the night and they couldn’t find their janitor to remove mice. Had to stay at a friends place for the night. They promised to refund but never did. Don’t trust their word. I feel they have bad management

AC didn’t work in the room - Montreal was under a heat wave which made it extremely uncomfortable. When I asked about if it can be fixed I was told no, I asked for fan, I was told no and they couldn’t put me in another room. I was then advised to speak with the manager in the morning and I might be able to get a refund or discount (who ironically couldn’t be found).
The fridge also didn’t work - and when I went to check if it was plugged in, I wasn’t able to see because the fridge was locked to the inside the cabinet.
I was told there was breakfast in the morning - when I asked what was available I was told there was bread with jam or butter.
“Free tea and coffee” was at least true - although there was no cups and no milk.

To be fair the staff were friendly and polite - I can’t really say anything bad about them.

The bed sheets were covered in hair - 100% they were not cleaned. What makes it funny is the cleaner has the audacity to put an envelope on the desk in your room with a “Merci-Thank you” note written on it. Pure comedy right there. I should have put it on the reception desk for my refund I never got.

In all honesty I would have much rather stayed in a hostel, in a dorm room with bunk beds for a fraction of the cost and no doubt a working AC.

$175 with a $200 “damages deposit” for ONE NIGHT is extremely excessive given the experience I had.

Oh, and be warned of the regular heroin addict that shoots up in the doorway next to the hotel - great for your kids to witness at 5pm on a Sunday.

Location is great and the beds were comfortable… A/C unit in the room was great.

Overall hotel is poorly maintained and the halls look like they haven’t been vacuumed in weeks (especially the 4th floor). Our room was not properly cleaned upon arrival… found hair on the bed spread, hair in the bathroom, the toilet seat was dirty and the shower wasn’t even wiped/cleaned properly.

Staff were pleasant but didn’t even inform us that the elevator was broken (and remained broken the entire 4 night stay) nor did they apologize for this inconvenience.

This hotel was still quite pricey for our trip, so for the money spent- I would have expected much better cleaning of the rooms. I would only stay here again for the convenience of location but even then, I don’t think I’ll be back.

Many of the amenities in the hotel room did not work or worked poorly (ie the shower and lights). The elevator seemed unsafe so while staying we took the stairs. Breakfast was supposedly included, but all we were able to find was those prepackaged bowls of cereal and a couple cups of yogurt. Parking next to the building was extremely overpriced. At least the staff at the front desk were nice.
