It's a mess. I don't know if you'll find a dirtier hotel in the area. The room had a dirty towel, and the view from the window was just like the picture. On 18 floor the water is not running. The breakfast table was covered in dirty, sticky reusable tablecloths. The carpet in the "breakfast room" (forgive me for being so blunt) looked like someone had spilled everything on it for 30 years, and on top of that, vomited here and there. We went to the restaurant for an evening beer (because sitting in that claustrophobic room was a nightmare). We were greeted by some trustworthy Asians in wet T-shirts and after three beers, who came out to the elevator at 9 p.m. We went for a walk—on the corner, a guy with his line tree out was peeing, barely holding on to the gate. It's Wednesday. You should put the reviews about this hotel from 13 or even two years ago to rest. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

The location is fantastic, very close to Gulou Dajie G subway exit, and just about 200 meters into a hutong. It's a charming, independent courtyard property. We were escorted to our room by a friendly staff member from the front desk. The room itself was spacious, bright, and had a delightful antique feel. Our window overlooked the beautiful small courtyard, creating a truly pleasant and relaxing atmosphere.

Nestled in Beijing's Xicheng District, the hotel truly exudes an ancient charm, feeling like a tranquil, secluded oasis. It's no surprise, considering its past as the magnificent residence of Sheng Xuanhuai, Minister of Telecommunications and Posts during the early Republic of China. This place is incredibly photogenic, perfect for capturing stunning travel photos. Its location is also exceptionally convenient; the subway station is just a 300-meter walk away, and you'll find Japanese restaurants and a McDonald's right on the street, making everything super handy!

The hotel has a wonderful old-world charm, and it's so picturesque from the moment you walk in, truly embodying the spirit of grand Beijing. The kids loved snapping photos everywhere. Plus, it's conveniently located not far from the Drum Tower and Shichahai, making it perfect for cycling. It's also just a short walk to the subway station.

Spacious rooms, exquisite breakfast, and an elegant ambiance.

Absolutely beautiful hotel! It's a peaceful retreat right in the heart of the city, within easy walking distance to Gulou and Shichahai Park. Both the subway and bus stations are just a 10-minute walk away. From the moment you check in, it feels like stepping into your own private sanctuary. Loved my stay!

This was my second stay here, and I must say it offers unbeatable value for money, especially for the North 2nd Ring Road area. The room was exceptionally clean, with thoughtful design details, and the bedding was incredibly comfortable. Though officially rated as a 3-star hotel, it truly delivers the quality of an international 4-star establishment.

This historic hotel has a captivating past. The staff were wonderful; they even shared stories about the original owner as they showed us to our room. The atmosphere is incredibly tranquil, and the hotel's facilities have a charming, antique feel. It's also conveniently located for getting around. A small but nice touch was the excellent tea provided in the room.

So I booked this hotel for 3 nights but had to check out after 1 night only. To start with, this is a private property with some residents, and they have an area that is for guests. Property itself is beautiful and traditional, but it's located in a small ally and difficult to access by cars.
My room was spacious and clean, but the AC was not working properly, and we could barely sleep as we were sweating the whole night.

Even the breakfast timings didn't make sense. They closed the breakfast at 9 am.

Staff is really sweet and always there to help.

We book a big table for more than 10 people. We got a semiprivate room open to the cosy courtyard. The environment was really nice. Beautifull hutong style. The night was too hot but the aircon helped despite the room was open. The service really friendly and helpfull.
However the food was just Ok. Wide Malasyan selection of dishes but I didn't felt I was trying anything worth to remember. The pice is too high for the average in Beijing. Around 200 RMB only drinking beers not wine.
