The environment is fantastic; you can take some really 'Suzhou-style' photos without even leaving your room. The only downside is the soundproofing isn't great, but that's to be expected with an old building.

**Service:** The staff, both male and female, were incredibly attentive, helping us with our luggage up and down – much appreciated!

They also provided a complimentary double-portion sweet soup for bedtime and welcome fruit.

We had a great time exploring the local area. Right in the heart of the old town, perfect location for wondering the streets. The hotel felt like its own cultural experience with its beautiful courtyards and gardens! 100% recommend!

Choosing Tanhuafu was a bit of a personal wish, hoping my child would soak in some of its scholarly ambiance, given it's the former residence of the prominent Pan family of Suzhou.

Although the courtyard is small, it's a miniature Suzhou garden. The house itself is a renovated old mansion, preserving its original architectural layout while incorporating modern conveniences. My child especially enjoyed feeding the koi fish!

Many boutique hotels and B&Bs have subpar breakfast, but while this one doesn't offer a buffet, they've partnered with a famous local breakfast spot in Suzhou. This allowed us to savor authentic Suzhou pan-fried buns, which was a pleasant surprise and another culinary highlight we got to check off our list.

Additionally, there's a daily architectural tour of the hotel at 10 AM, which is a fantastic opportunity to introduce children to Ming and Qing dynasty architecture and garden aesthetics.

Coming to Suzhou for my wedding photos, I really wanted to experience a hotel with a Jiangnan courtyard style, so I chose the Tanhuafu Hotel. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived; stepping into the courtyard felt like I'd entered a true Jiangnan paradise. The front desk staff were also incredibly thoughtful and attentive.

This is my second stay at the Tanhua Mansion. The location is excellent, right at the intersection of Pingjiang Road and Guanqian Street. The room was clean and tidy, with a full set of toiletries, and the service was top-notch. Someone helped with my luggage both when checking in and checking out. The only minor drawback is that breakfast is no longer served in the hotel's own restaurant. You either have to go to a nearby restaurant or have it delivered to your room. There are only two main dishes to choose from, so if you stay for more than three nights, you'll be eating the same thing again. Compared to a few years ago, the hotel premises feel a bit dated. Perhaps that's just a characteristic of Tanhua Mansion. What truly impressed me most was the attitude of the staff – a group of young people who made me feel warm and comfortable.

A gem of a place in a narrow alleyway, walkable to Pingjiang Road and Guanting Road. The room was very big with a separate living area.
Breakfast is at a restaurant very close by and is very generous including dumplings, beef noodles, fish dumplings and soya bean drink.
The service staff are very helpful and obliging.
Would be helpful to have some spoons in the room.

A beautiful guesthouse converted from an old building, full of charm. The magnolias are in full bloom this season, which is lovely. The front desk staff, Xiao Chao and Xiao Liu, were very welcoming and provided excellent service. I'll definitely be back!

The hotel's location is definitely superb, and the interior is also very beautiful. The staff's attitude is exceptionally good, and the service is quite attentive. Since cars can't directly access the hotel entrance, the staff helped with luggage pickup and drop-off. The fried buns we had for breakfast at their partner shop outside were also very delicious.

Clean, quiet, and comfortable, the hotel's overall ambiance, right down to the room details, is thoughtful and meticulous. Every step reveals a new view; whether you're sitting, standing, or just strolling, it's incredibly relaxing and peaceful. They have a scripture copying room and a children's lacquer fan making activity (which adults can also enjoy!). The front desk service was warm and attentive, making for a superb experience.
