Garden Hotel SUZHOU in Suzhou

This hotel is located right next to Shiquan Street, with its east gate just across from the Master of the Nets Garden. It's also not far from other attractions like the Suzhou Museum and Humble Administrator's Garden. Shiquan Street itself is very lively in the evenings, offering plenty of convenient dining options. The garden hotel has a great atmosphere, excellent facilities, and very good service. The rooms are clean, tidy, spacious, and comfortable. Both the pillows and mattresses provide just the right level of firmness, ensuring a good night's rest after a day of sightseeing. I'm very satisfied! The hotel's breakfast selection is also quite rich and the food tastes good. Overall, I had a very pleasant stay!

Staying in Building 8 was the worst. The new furniture smell in the room on the first night was so strong it made my throat hurt. The air conditioning and shower water were also not great. For over 2,000 RMB a night during the May Day holiday, it felt more like a standard business or four-star hotel, both in terms of room cleanliness and breakfast. This was especially noticeable in stark contrast to the Yangzhou Guesthouse where I stayed afterward! Although the shower gel and shampoo bottles were L'Occitane, I suspect the contents weren't authentic because the scent was different from genuine products I've bought at the mall. My scalp was itchy after washing my hair. I usually don't leave reviews, but this really left me with a very poor impression. It's a shame to see a historic hotel managed this way by the property owners, and that's why I felt compelled to say more.

This hotel boasts a beautiful environment and an excellent location with convenient transportation. There are plenty of dining options on Shiquan Street and Fenghuang Street. It's just a five-minute walk to the Master of the Nets Garden, offering a peaceful retreat in a bustling area. It consistently provides a comfortable stay and is my go-to hotel whenever I visit Suzhou.

The front desk staff provides attentive and detailed service, and the housekeeping team is warm and proactive. The hotel breakfast is quite rich, and I highly recommend the local specialties like Suzhou-style noodles, pan-fried buns, and crab roe soup dumplings.

The hotel's Yanyanglou Noodle Restaurant is also worth recommending; the group purchase voucher offers great value for money! I've stayed in the duplex room multiple times, and it's perfect for family trips – highly recommended!

The only minor disappointment was that during my Chinese New Year stay, L'Occitane toiletries were provided, but for this May Day holiday, they were replaced with an unknown brand. I hope the hotel continues to maintain its high-quality standards!

My trip was incredibly enjoyable, especially staying at the Suzhou Nanyuan Hotel in an Elegant Residence room. The hotel staff were warm and attentive. They even gave us a bamboo fan during the hotel tour and an herbal sachet for guests who booked through Trip.com. I absolutely loved these little gifts and brought them all home – so happy! 🥳 The pine nut crispy candy from Caizhizhai on the front desk was a unique and delicious treat; I couldn't wait to order some on my way home. At checkout, I was surprised with a parting gift – the hotel is so generous, what a pleasant surprise! The room's color scheme and even the disposable slippers were in my favorite shades, showing great attention to detail. The L'Occitane toiletries were a nice touch, reassuring to use. The location is also very convenient; it's an 18-minute drive to Suzhou Station when there's no traffic. The hotel's front entrance is by the Master of the Nets Garden, and the back entrance is on Shiquan Road, making it a top choice for a short getaway in the area.

An unforgettable May Day trip! Front desk staffer Xiao Lu was a great help – when she heard we wanted a twin room, she went out of her way to arrange it for us and even upgraded our room type. We really appreciate it! We also booked a guided tour for 3 PM, and Xiao Guo was incredibly thorough and attentive. We spent a whole hour doing the Hanfu experience with our child, taking lots of photos! Plus, we received a souvenir when we checked out. The hotel's location is excellent. Highly recommend!

Five stars all around! When I'm traveling, besides the hotel environment and facilities, the cultural heritage and charm of a place are super important to me, and Nan Yuan absolutely shines in that aspect with its unique appeal.

Building No. 8 has been newly renovated, while the other buildings maintain an older, classic style, so you can choose based on your preference. The staff provided excellent service, and the garden views were as beautiful as ever. A big thank you for the delicious snacks from the hotel too!

I stayed at the Nanfang Hotel's Building 8, 'Yingjie,' in Suzhou over the weekend. It was just renovated late last year with a new 'Neo-Chinese' decor. As you enter, to your left is a long, open wardrobe and a luggage rack, which were very convenient. Then there's a separate wet and dry vanity area and a bathtub, with a sliding glass door separating the room from the washroom. The room itself was quite spacious, with a round table and a sofa by the window. Outside, lush rockeries and greenery provided a refreshing view, and being able to open the window for ventilation was especially pleasant this time of year.

The toiletries were L'Occitane, and there was even a Pantene hair essence capsule with the hairdryer. As for the bedding, the mattress was on the firmer side, so comfort will vary for different people.

What was hard to understand were some of the renovation details. The grout lines in the tiles were sloppily done, a clear departure from what you'd expect in a five-star hotel. This was even more noticeable under the sink drain. I'd suggest the hotel add a trash can there; it would both hide the flaw and be convenient for women to discard small items when using the sink.

The breakfast overall was good. I recommend the 'red soup noodles with braised pork,' which had an authentic flavor. The fresh pork pan-fried buns were also surprisingly delicious – slightly sweet and very juicy.

The hotel's location truly lives up to its five-star reputation. Situated on Shiquan Street, it's incredibly convenient for getting around. Wangshi Garden is right across from the hotel entrance on Chengqiao Road, so you can visit early to avoid the crowds. Plus, many popular eateries on Shiquan Street don't have queues before noon. The surrounding streets like Fenghuang Street, Wuqueqiao Street, Cuku Alley, Chaiyuan, and the small alleys behind Shiquan Street are also perfect for a city walk.

Shiquan Street is bustling, but as soon as you enter the hotel, it becomes wonderfully quiet. If you're tired from exploring, you can return to the hotel to stroll around Jiang Weiguo's former residence or other ancient buildings and rock gardens, and enjoy the peaceful, serene atmosphere.

If you want to explore the urban area of Suzhou in a short time, Nanfang Hotel is a five-star recommendation.

This garden-style state guesthouse hotel is located right next to the bustling Shiquan Street, a popular spot. Check-in was smooth and quick. The front desk staff were kind, approachable, patient, and thorough in answering all my questions. While the room facilities are a bit dated, the overall service and environment are excellent 👍. We had a pleasant night here while visiting Suzhou for tomb-sweeping. The hotel's buffet breakfast was very generous, and I especially loved the Suzhou-style noodles. I'd definitely go back if I get the chance and would recommend it to friends.
