Hangzhou Xixi Hotel in Hangzhou

I’ve been holding some exceptional affection for Hangzhou. Upon my second visit to the city my friend arranged me to stay in the hotel and it really has something special, possibly unique. It’s built inside the national famous wetland preserve, and I was able to enjoy a view of a pond in it from the balcony of my room. They also offer boat and fishing equipment leasing services to patrons who would like to further explore the wetland.

Just as the wetland itself, the property is located in a quieter area of the city, though Alibaba’s new corporate headquarter as well as many startup offices are located nearby. One of Zhengjiang University’s newer campuses is also pretty close. However if you would like to stay closer to the train station or the airport this definitely would be a less desirable choice, and don’t even dream of taking public transportation there cause it’s just not designed for that.

In terms of tourism, it is closer to the west and more mountainous side of the West Lake where the Lingyin Temple sits, and a cab would take you there in a reasonable amount of time. Go have a walk, enjoy some zen and Longjing tea. If you get hungry they do have a couple of restaurant options, but I remember they only offered Chinese cuisine. Or just order some food online, those diligent motorists will bring it to you.

My room was spacious, well equipped and clean (at least it seemed to be). The bed in my room was the widest I had ever seen. I guess three well shaped persons could easily feet. Such a shame I enjoyed it alone. Every time in the city I stayed alone, despite that the city is famous for its lovely ladies. Real shame.

The hotel is super quiet; perfect for a holiday.

The environment is nice, but there's nothing nearby, and the restaurants close very early.

The scenery was nice, the service and restaurant were so-so, but they did have L'Occitane bath products.
