Hotel Lipa in Postira

Our expectations of the hotel, the resort, and the island were exceeded. The island of Braç and the resort of Postira are ideal for a relaxing holiday. Postira is a small coastal town with about 1,500 inhabitants. It stretches up the hills along the densely forested coast. The crystal-clear sea often shimmers turquoise, like the Caribbean. There are no shops for shopping, nor are there any invitations to coastal cruises advertised elsewhere. Nightlife is virtually nonexistent, and if there is, it only takes place on the ships anchored there. The Hotel Lipa is located directly at the harbor, on a quiet road (closed to through traffic) behind a narrow beach. You can swim there, but it's not ideal due to the fishing boats and yachts. There are (in addition to the beach directly in front of the hotel) several small beaches in and near the town that are suitable for swimming. A beautiful, somewhat larger bay (Trstena) is a 45-minute walk away. These beaches are pebble beaches; water shoes are essential. A little further on, you'll find another large bay (Lovrecina) with a sandy beach, but few sunbathing spots. There are beautiful towns in the area that are reliably and inexpensively accessible by bus; we didn't miss having a car. The bus takes you to Bol on the other side of the island, where there's a much-praised long lagoon beach, in just under an hour. Very beautiful, quite touristy, but we still found it a nice day trip. The hotel is a cube-shaped building typical of the island, with equal-sided roofs. It has very good proportions and is pleasantly modern both inside and out. Although it's larger than the surrounding buildings, it blends well with the town's skyline (unlike other hotels!). Almost all rooms have a sea view with a balcony or loggia. We had a large, tastefully furnished suite, not at all stuffy. The bed is excellent, and the bathroom has a shower and bathtub. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. There also seems to be a good working atmosphere. Some people complained that the breakfast was a bit meager, but we didn't agree. Everything we needed and liked was there. We could have had an omelet or scrambled eggs at any time. As an avid coffee drinker, it was nice that I enjoyed the coffee. The half-board menu includes a handful of starters and desserts and about a dozen main courses; it doesn't change regularly. After a week, we had finished our favorite dishes, but we were happy to order one or two more. We found the food to be very good to excellent, always served quickly and charmingly. The waiters were very attentive and happy to fulfill even small special requests. We had a wonderful hotel holiday and thoroughly enjoyed the hotel, the town, and the island.

We've been to Lipa three times, the last time 10 years ago, and we had correspondingly high expectations this June. Our high expectations were far exceeded during our three-week stay this year! The joy begins with the breakfast buffet. Exquisite and organic. Special requests are fulfilled perfectly and promptly. The outdoor tables would do any 5☆ resort proud. I don't want to hide the fact that the family that owns it has a huge organic farm; all the vegetables and salads, including the eggs and the "award-winning" olive oil, come from their own production. Hippocrates: Let food be thy medicine. Nowhere in Europe has this saying been more true for us than at Lipa! And now the chef Ante from Split! A demigod, a guru, an artist, and... a friendly, humble person! We immediately warmed to him. A lot has happened in Dalmatia in the culinary world in recent decades, but Ante is definitely an outstanding figure! The Lipa clearly has good contacts with the local fishermen, as even the fresh fish leaves nothing to be desired! There's also a fantastic pizza chef who conjures up absolutely perfect pizzas in the brick wood-fired oven. We were particularly pleased with the sensitivity and helpfulness shown to guests with physical disabilities! This made our vacation a complete success. The hotel is a beautiful old building, idyllically located by the beach/fishing harbor, and very tastefully decorated. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and have an alcove balcony on the upper floor, which is perfect for me as a cigar smoker, as cigars don't tolerate drafts. We also spent a lot of time at the beautiful outdoor pool, looked after by the friendly staff. In summary: We're already looking forward to our next stay in the fall!

Hotel Lipa is absolutely a very nice place to stay but, to be honest, that’s like most hotels are. What makes Hotel Lipa stand out from the rest, is their staff….!! They are amazingly friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. From the ladies at the front desk, the book keeping, the cleaning lady and the hotel manager! The men in the restaurant are amazing too, if I may give an advice to you, my fellow travelers, let them surprise you, forget the menu and the wine card, they know….relax and enjoy like I did. For those who wonder: I don’t have any shares in the hotel but I will go back there someday, for sure 👍

We were staying nearby to this hotel in an Airbnb but we choose to eat in Hotel Lipa for 6 of our 14 nights - the food is undoubtable the best in the town and very good value. We sat outside under the shade of the beautiful tress and ate whilst watching spectacular sunsets. The restaurant looks over gorgeous blue water and a small beach. We particularly want to mention the best waiter - his name was Lazzo or maybe spelt Lazza - he was absolutely great, very polite and professional. He was personable and we were thrilled to see him each time we went. He was new to the hotel this season but he is a real asset. The food is fantastic and delivered fresh and very quickly. I recommend everything on the menu. You must try this restaurant it is great.

This is the best hotell we have ever been to. Sush excellent service, so Nice staff. Magnificent food at the hotell restaurant, very fast staff and always available. The pool was very regresjon as well, the rooms are big, with a beautiful view. So happy about are stay and would deifinitly recommend to family and friends.

Feel very lucky to have stayed here, if you go to Brac island, please do visit picture perfect Postira and absolutely stay at the family run Lipa hotel. The team running things at Lipa are lovely and so much careful thought has gone into creating this small and friendly hotel. I would have been happy to go here on honeymoon once upon a time, but our visit included teenagers and they loved the unexpected luxury oo. The rooms are generously sized - we had one with a balcony over looking the bay which was just lovely. The photos when we booked didn’t do justice to all the lovely aspects of this place - gorgeous seating options with views from every part of the place. Location is marvellous - we were travelling around via public transport and the location was a short case-drag from the bus stop and close to lovely bars and restaurants around the harbour and great for exploring Postira from. The sea here is so clear you will want to wade into the shallow waters for a swim and there are a couple of different pebble beaches to enjoy as well as swimming directly opposite the hotel, kayaks and boats to hire. Great for discerning families with children too - lots of clean safe places to play, explore and have ice cream. Enjoy!

A totally charming small hotel in a gorgeous village. You can literally cross the (car-free) road from the property and swim from a small beach. The hotel is run by lovely people. There are loads of little coves and villages nearby to explore. The place actually looks better than the pictures suggest! We were very sorry to leave for part 2 of our Croatian holiday which was on the mainland and nowhere near as lovely as this.

We had a wonderful holiday at Hotel Lipa the last week of May 2023. Spacious room with balcony overlooking Harbour, directly over the water . Excellent breakfast and fresh fish dinners. Helpful staff. Stoney beaches but just over 4 kms magical walk by the sea, with beautiful wild flowers is a sandy beach at Lovrecina which can only be described as a little piece of Paradise. There is a beach bar and restaurant there also owned by the family of Hotel Lipa

Everything about this hotel is fantastic. The breakfast is very good, the room comfortable and clean, and the sea view from the room is spectacular. It's location too is also excellent, with hardly any traffic and noise. The hosts are both friendly, helpful and nothing too much bother, as they make you feel comfortable and welcome. If we were to have any criticism, it would be that the wi-fi is poor, and there is no kettle or tea and coffee facilities in the room, but you can get a hot drink at a charge downstairs. We will definitely return to this hotel again without hesitation Thankyou very much for helping making this holiday superb for us.
