My husband and I had a fantastic stay at California Apartments. The hosts were excellent — they speak perfect English, were available 24/7, and always helpful and friendly. Our apartment was spotlessly clean and well equipped. The small kitchen had everything we needed: coffee machine, toaster, microwave, pots, cutlery, and nice extras like coffee, oil, salt, and pepper. We also appreciated the option to use the washing machine for free. The shared terrace is large and cleaned daily. The pool was well-maintained and a great spot to relax. We were also welcomed with chilled water and a bottle of wine in the fridge — a very thoughtful gesture. One small drawback: the walls are quite thin, so it can get noisy at night when other guests return late. A simple sign in the hallway to remind guests to keep noise down would help. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thanks to the friendly hosts, clean facilities, and nice atmosphere, we would happily recommend California Apartments and rate our stay 9 out of 10. We would definitely come back!

Very friendly and helpful owner. Within minutes of arriving Ana had WhatsApped me all the info I needed for my mini break. Lovely spacious, clean well kitted out room. Close to bus stops. Of note is that they invested in a proper TV satellite system. I travel the world and it’s rare to have a watchable news channel in English, but not only was there a good connection, it included Prime and Netflix. As a solo traveller who tends to have a snack in the room at night rather than eat out, this was a real bonus - especially as my laptop had been frazzled at the airport. Everything you needed for a holiday apartment. I won’t be back Ana because I go to different places each trip - but I can’t recommend you high enough. Thanks for everything.

I always read reviews before booking places and I really hope this encourages people to stay at California Apartments: - Amazing location between the beach, lovely restaurants and bars and the other direction is the old town. This allows everything to be easily reached but give you some quieter time in the middle if you wish. - Everything accessible by excellent bus system and only 50 yards from the apartments - the apartments are spotlessly clean on arrival and throughout your stay by the owners, their daughter and her amazing friend (trustworthy, friendly and a great job) - Beautiful view from the pool area (sun loungers were always available) - Maria the host is the most amazing person. She gives you the best recommendations during your stay for restaurants and places to visit (please listen to her she knows her stuff and you won’t be disappointed!) She is always available and can’t do enough for you during your stay to make it a relaxing, enjoyable holiday with a family feel. My friend and I have never felt so welcome anywhere. - Small food shops nearby, bakery to the right, wine shop downstairs and restaurant across the road (perfect!) - Only 30mins ish from airport and transfer available if you wish I could say so much about this holiday but most of all stay here and you won’t be disappointed. I am already planning to book direct through Maria (California Apartments) next year. Thank you so much for leaving a special memory for us both Maria, you treat every guest so well and I hope more people can enjoy like we did.

This location is great as you are in between Lapad and the old town so you get the best of both, the rooms are clean and comfortable and have everything you need. The pool was lovely and the views were beautiful but the best part was the host - Marijia was so friendly and caring, she goes the extra mile to ensure her guests have a great time and she had loads of great recommendations for places to visit and restaurants to eat at - if we are ever in Dubrovnik again we would stay here without a second thought. Our holiday started wonderfully by being greeted by lovely Marija who is so warm and friendly. She gave us lots of information about possible places to visit and we picked up on her enthusiasm and love for Dubrovnik and couldn't wait to start exploring it for ourselves. The apartment had everything we needed and although the road was quite busy and noisy at times that was a small price to pay for being so central to everything. We felt that we were part of true Dubrovnik rather than some impersonal resort that could have been in any country. We loved it and highly recommend it.

Good location, easy walk to many restaurants etc. The pool is beautiful, a little cold late september but that's to be expected! Spacious apartment, fully functional kitchen. Maria was very friendly and helpful!

Very friendly owners. Made us feel very welcome and we enjoyed our stay very much. Clean and nice apartment with all amenities needed for us and our baby. Good location with everything close by, within walking distance. Highly recommended!
