Our stay at Villa Kristia was extremely disappointing, particularly given that our group consisted of 13 people, including three infants, and that the visit took place during the winter season.

The most serious issue was the complete lack of adequate heating. The air-conditioning/heating units in the bedrooms were not functioning at all, and there was no hot water available. We contacted the owner to report these problems and requested assistance, but he informed us that there was nothing he could do. The only solution offered was a portable plug-in heater, which emitted a burnt smell, appeared unsafe, and had an exposed flame. With small children present, this was clearly a fire and safety risk, so we could not use it. As a result, there was effectively no safe heating in the villa, making our stay uncomfortable and stressful.

The property was advertised as being suitable for families with infants and mentioned safety features such as baby gates; however, none were provided. In addition, the glass staircase and bannister were damaged, creating a significant safety hazard for both children and adults.

There were also numerous other shortcomings:
• The swimming pool was dirty
• No firewood was provided for the fireplace
• No charcoal was available for the barbecue
• Towels were damp upon arrival
• Wi-Fi was extremely slow and essentially unusable, forcing us to rely on our own mobile hotspots
• Table tennis equipment was unusable, with broken rackets and a torn net
• The iron was faulty and had visible burn marks on the soleplate

Due to the lack of heating and hot water, we asked for a slightly later checkout as a small concession for the inconvenience. Instead, we were required to pay an additional €70 in cash, which felt unreasonable and unfair given the circumstances.

Overall, the poor condition of the villa, combined with the lack of support or willingness to resolve serious issues, completely undermined our holiday. For a group of this size, we would have been far better off booking multiple hotel rooms rather than staying here.

We cannot recommend this property, particularly for families or for stays during the colder months.

As a so-called solution, he gave us a plug-in heater, which smelled burnt, appeared unsafe, and had an open flame. With small children in the house, this was extremely dangerous, so we couldn’t even use it. This left us with no safe heating option at all, making the stay very uncomfortable and stressful.

Other issues included:
• Pool was dirty
• No wood for the fire
• No coal for the BBQ
• Damp towels on arrival
• Very slow WiFi – unusable, we had to rely on our own hotspots
• Table tennis rackets broken and net ripped
• Faulty iron with burn marks on the soleplate

Given the lack of heating and hot water, we requested a delayed checkout as a small gesture due to the inconvenience. Instead, we were charged €70 in cash, which felt completely unfair under the circumstances.

Overall, the condition of the villa and the lack of support from the owner completely ruined our trip. With 13 people, we honestly would have been far better off booking six hotel rooms instead of staying here.

Do not recommend at all, especially for families or winter stays.
