Reviews
Our room was spotless and clean, with a small refrigerator (drinks available for a fee) and a few snacks on the table (also for a fee). The reception was very friendly, as was the entire service staff. On our last day, we had breakfast at the hotel (buffet, €16 per person) – it was delicious and offered a wide selection. We would gladly stay again if the opportunity arises.
I highly recommend this hotel and would gladly stay here again.
The hotel itself is immaculate, room cleaned each day which was spotless. The flooring in our room felt loose under foot, not dangerously so but felt like it may have been making a noise for the people below as we walked over it. The room was plenty of room, there is a mini bar and snacks available if you wished. We bought our own. The bathroom was big and towels replaced each day if you so wish. The shower in our room was loose at the top so we had to wash holding shower head in our hand. Not a problem for us but I did mean to report on check out but was pre-occupied with a lovely event happening in reception (see below). The room was nice and warm throughout our stay, very comfortable.
The hotel is in walking distance from the train station and most attractions in the area. We used the AE bus on arrival to Prague which took us to the train station. Then we walked to the hotel, roughly 20 min walk. The rest of our stay we walked in the snow/ice everywhere, to see as much as we could. Safe to say blisters on each foot, aching legs but worthwhile.
On our day of departure we wanted to visit the National museum, we only had a couple of hours to spare to then get to the airport. So we checked out early and took advantage of the luggage store room. On getting down to reception, it was clear there was a celebration of some kind going on for the lovely receptionist behind the desk. My initial thought was it was her birthday but then one of the members presenting a gift came to apologise that we had been held up and was explaining it was 'colleague of the month'. It was such a heartwarming experience that I was happy to witness and there was really no need for an apology from the manager. The fact that this company was acknowledging good work to a staff member speaks volumes, well done to the happy, friendly, helpful receptionist (didn't quite get her name, it begins with A), truly well deserved and restores my faith in humanity.
Would happily stay here again, next time we come I will pick a warmer month. Thanks to all who made our stay pleasant.
We booked this hotel expecting the quality of a 4-star property with a rating above 9 on Booking. Unfortunately, the room did not meet these expectations. The furniture and beds felt very cheap, the floor was creaking, the curtains were old and worn (ours even had a hole), and overall the room looked outdated and poorly maintained. It felt closer to a 1-star standard rather than a 4-star hotel.
The staff were attentive and kept bringing generous complimentary gifts, including bottles of wine and champagne. While we appreciate the gesture, it was quite clear that these gifts were meant to encourage guests to leave a 10/10 rating. This creates a misleading impression and does not reflect the real condition of the rooms.
Breakfast was actually very good — tasty, varied and sufficient every morning. This was one of the better parts of our stay.
Regarding free parking: the hotel does not have parking on-site and the nearest option is about an 8–10 minute walk away. This was fine for us as we knew this in advance, but other guests might want to be aware.
In summary, although the staff were kind and the breakfast was good, the hotel itself does not match its advertised category or high rating. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend it as a true 4-star property.
The room was cute with a wooden feel, and there was a minibar (charges apply). It also had a bathtub, so being able to relax in the tub was a big plus!
I also booked a plan that included breakfast, which was a great choice!
There was lots of cheese, salami, ham, and more, and it was all delicious.
When I checked out, I was given a bottle of water and a Prague Castle magnet as a gift!
