Reviews
We stayed one night at Hotel Maestro in Prague. Our first room, on 3rd fooor, was right in front of a restaurant’s exhaust fan, and the smell of fried food filled not only the room but the entire floor. It was unbearable, so we asked to change rooms. They said that was the first time they got this complain, mmmmm.
We were moved to room on the 4th floor, on the top floor, which meant repacking all our luggage and taking another elevator up. Unfortunately, that room was also uncomfortable: it had no real windows, only some high openings that let in a bit of light but no view. There was a constant noise from above, probably an air-co motor, and we could clearly hear people talking in the next room, as it was a connecting room with poor soundproofing.
The room was also in poor condition: hair in the shower, swollen bathroom doors, dirty tile grout, and a sagging bed with broken springs. The pillow was too thick and uncomfortable.
There is no real reception, only a luggage room, so no one is available for immediate help.
Overall, a very uncomfortable and disappointing stay, not recommended.
We spent just one night at Hotel Maestro in Prague, and it was more than enough. Our first room (315) was right across from a restaurant’s exhaust fan — the entire place reeked of fried food, not just the room but the whole corridor. The smell was so strong we couldn’t stay there, so we asked to move.
They reassigned us to room 405 on the top floor, which meant packing everything up again and switching elevators. Unfortunately, that room wasn’t any better. It didn’t even have real windows — just a few high openings that let in a bit of daylight but no view at all. There was a constant humming noise, likely from the air conditioning unit above, and we could hear every word from the neighboring room since it was a connecting one with almost no sound insulation.
The condition of the room itself was poor: hair left in the shower, swollen bathroom doors, dirty grout between the tiles, and a sagging mattress with broken springs. The pillow was huge and uncomfortable too.
To make matters worse, there’s no proper reception — just a luggage room — so there’s no one around if you need help.
All in all, the stay was really unpleasant and far from what we expected. Definitely not a place I’d recommend.
I liked my room too although the floor could be renovated. It looked old and dirty (it wasn't). I also hated the bed, did not find it comfortable at all. The mattress was way too soft for my liking, as well as the pillows, but that's just me. Also the water takes an eternity to warm up. Huge amount of water gets wasted for you to wait to get warm.
- No TV! Breakfast was average
