Interhotel Central in Karlovy Vary

Hotel is old and food is average. Main problem are bugs in bedroom. It was terrible. Forced to change rooms. Staff is not helpful. If you don’t speak Russian or Ukrainian they will take advantage of you. Highly not recommended. Not coming back

I've travelled to over 60 countries in the world and I've never been treated as poorly as I was when I walked into this hotel. There's no way Interhotel Central is a four-star hotel because the front desk receptionist, Aleksandr, is so rude that he should never work in tourism. I was looking to switch from another hotel and I wanted to check out Hotel Central. I walked in and I asked Aleksander in Russian if he knew of any cosmetics salons that were open on Saturday. He could have said “No, sorry, I don’t have that information” and ended the interaction there and that would have been a normal answer. But he preferred to say: "No. You're asking the wrong question. Why should I know this kind of information? It's not like we have deals with all the stores and salons in town. You could look this up on the internet." How can a four-star hotel train its staff to be so incredibly rude to a potential customer? I have gone into hotels, hostels, other tourist businesses and asked similar questions and people answered me politely because they knew their job was to orient and serve people who were not locals. I told him that it's a typical question for tourists to ask which businesses are open on a weekend. Not all of these small cosmetic salons even have websites or have all of their information on the net. He said that I was asking an impossible question and that it was not his job to know this information. He was mean and angry. If the Interhotel Central wants to maintain its reputation as a four-star hotel, it needs to make sure it doesn't hire vicious people who are evil to tourists. People come to Karlovy Vary to escape from the evils of the world and to heal themselves, not to have a hotel worker spew anger at them.

This was an absolutely horrible experience, they gave us a room for people with disabilities, the bathroom didn't correspond with what we supposed to get. They didn't provide us with shower gel, only with shampoos, and when we approached them, they told us the shower gel is only for superior rooms. After it, they gave them to us. Every shampoo was barely enough to wash your hair. The receptionist was extremely rude. Avoid your stay here at all costs. I'm not even mentioning the bathroom was at 2-star level! The hotel is stucked at '90s!!!
