Reviews
Beach is great, water is warm but rough. Maybe for younger people is good, they can use the boards/surfs that the hotel offer for free. It is fun!
Variety of food, abundant; but on my second day there I got sick. Si I loose 50% of my vacations feeling horrible.
Beds super comfy, AC working perfectly fine.
Several pillows per bed.
Hot water, no issues.
Filter water all over the hotel, in dispenser similar to the ones offer at the airport, where you can fill up your bottle.
Transfer from airport to the hotel is very short 20 or 25 minutes
Overall a good vacation, but I am not going back to DR, getting sick really cut my holidays in half.
The food was terrible. My husband actually used the word gross. Cold pasta, warm cheese. Empty juice or no glasses. Pizza is ok but for this price I do not want to eat pizza every meal.
Omelet was very good.
Food was excellent but service was not.
If you don't speak French or Spanish, you will be ignored. Staff aggressive for tips and focus on that rather than providing real service. Found this from the Airport to the Resort and the day trips.
Beach was great for walks but incredibly rough and the water was cloudy, which meant snorkelling was poor.
Not a bad experience but there are so many other resorts that are better.
(I never write reviews, but this is my experience and giving you a warning)
This was my birthday weekend -
The only nice part of this hotel is playa coson which is to the left of the hotel up the beach, but it’s still a walk. Beautiful spectacular views, but I had to walk to the nicer area everyday.
This is the worst resort I’ve ever been to. I am a member of viva hotels membership and I can’t emphasize such A HORRIBLE experience.
Hotel staff are very persistent with selling and upselling things ( memberships, spas, souvenirs)
Restaurant food was not impressive. got sick in the fusion oriental restaurant for my birthday dinner.
There is no snack bar. VeryLimited food. Food was horrible. My husband and I got food poisoning from both restaurant and cafeteria. The buffet Lacks so many options, not what you expect at an all inclusive.
We ordered room service everyday and the food did not show up for an hour minimum, sometimes not at all.
Not sure why this is adults only if they don’t have much entertainment and the bar has limited hours. Especially the club viva members small section. It’s a tiny rooftop bar with pool and amazing views, but the Section is only open until 7pm. You can’t enjoy the only thing the hotel has to offer because it closes so early.
Third, we missed our excursion due to food illness and they did not want to refund. They wanted me to get a doctors note for a refund. How can you possibly leave your room to see a doctor when you’re not feeling well ?Luckily, they offered me another day after arguing and going back and fourth with management.
I am an avid traveler to Dominican Republic and visit often multiple times a year. If I stay at viva Wyndham I always stay in La romana at Dominicus Beach palace. Much better, cleaner much more bars, pools and space & entertaining hotel.
I will never return to this hotel ever in my life
The staff were okay just that we felt that unless you were a foreigner (caucasian) they would have treated us with respect and equality.
The food was not as good as Viva Cabarete and the drinks were also watered down.
Worst thing that happened that our 3rd day there I became sick with a stomach bug- was in bed all day with shivers and my whole body hurt. Then my husband got it in the evening.
One thing that could improve is the place settings in the dining area should be replaced immediately so that guests don’t have to look around and ask staff for utensils and napkins or even a glass of wine.
We have been booking resort rooms for over 25 years and I see that the service has not been the same.
Another gentlemen started talking to us about all his family issues and that his child was in the hospital and his parents had just been killed. As sad as his story was, we were looking for a relaxing place.
Food was great but it was always the same every day. I had called room service 5 minutes after 11pm to order a cheeseburger that I had waited to order all day and the person very rudely said they could not make it.
The room, staff and amenities were excellent!!
