Where to stay with kids in Finland

There are many places, there is a slide, children's pools and various options for water procedures!

The family room was great, with a large bedroom and a separate bunk bed. It's a five-minute walk back to the hotel after skiing, and a three-minute walk to the shopping street. A perfect choice for Levi Ski Resort

We spent the day in the water park and it was great. Our two young kids always enjoy it. There's a great variety of pool depths and temperatures. There's even a slide that they love.

Refreshing break Above expectations nice stay. Spacious room, separate bed room, own sauna. Even a wet bar. Excellent breakfast and very good spa included.

We stayed as a family of four in one of the blocks away from the main hotel. A few mins walk across the car park from the reception area and the restaurant for meals. Rooms/blocks are designed for ski holidays

Lot of activities nearby. Excellent service from the personell. We enjoyed!

The service was amazing! The staff were so nice and the food was really good. Pricey yes, but so is everything around the hotel area.

The glass elevator at the hotel offers great views, and the rooftop pool, sauna, lounge area, and bar are all fantastic. They even provide an early breakfast an hour before regular breakfast service.

We had the best stay at this hotel. We were supposed to stay 2 nights and we stayed 4. Sauna and pool really are great. The hotel is super clean and the staff is super sweet

Great value for money with very clean and modern rooms. It was appreciated that the room had an empty fridge available for use. However, I was disappointed by the lack of coffee/tea amenities in the room.

If weekend, the pool is opened for morning too but opening hours are very short too (7am to 11am). The changing room door could not be closed

The heating wasn't working, but after I complained, they offered an extra heater that worked really well. The location is great.

Everything was absolutely perfect. It's close to the city center, and the breakfast was very good – there's something for everyone. The service was also lovely.

When I asked staff at the desk, they just said the check-in is at 16 and they don’t know about the availabilities and that I should try the self-service again in half an hour intervals

The room could’ve had something to place shoes on, especially during winter all the snow just melted directly onto the floorboards

Breakfast was good, was hoping to find more fresh fruit and common breakfast drinks like orange juice and hot chocolate

Would definitely come back! The wellness area was a bit pricey for an add on but really nice and chill when quiet! I just would have liked a staff member there to manage noise and groups as I wanted to go on my last night but it was very overcrowded with loud intimidating groups

Spent a few days here due to attending a conference in the city. Absolutely loved the place - now part of the Hilton chain but with real underlying character. My room was reasonably large and very comfortable

The breakfast was outstanding, and the rooms were immaculate, tidy, and extremely comfortable. The surrounding environment is beautiful and tranquil, making it perfect for relaxation and a vacation

Finally, a word about the staff, who were without exception friendly, courteous, professional and helpful. Not sure if /when I'll be back in Helsinki, but I'd be delighted to stay here again

As others have said, some parts of this hotel do show their age a little, but for me that absolutely adds to its character. The design-forward approach extends to the restaurant

Such a serene experience. The hotel is located in a quiet, peaceful and greenery neighbourhood. It has a big park close to it where you could take long quiet walks!

I ate here a few times and all of the dishes I tried were excellent and not especially pricey by Helsinki standards. A pleasant spot for dinner as a solo traveller

Nice hotel inside a shopping mall. A hotel situated inside a shopping mall is a first for me. Once I had found my way around I enjoyed the convenience of being able to walk to various shops and cafes

We booked a room one day in advance for one night only and found ourselves in a room properly designed for wheelchair persons, got plenty of space but looked like a hospital

Parking on first floor is limited but plenty of space on the upper floor. Room was bigger than expected with kettle and tea/coffee

The location of the hotel is just the best. Closest to the train station and the city center is just a walk away. Had an amazing time there and the cleanliness of the rooms made my stay more comfortable

The fact that the toiletries were changed just one night into our stay made it more enticing. I will highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning to travel to Joensuu. The breakfast had different varieties of items too

Pleasant stay for one night in Joensuu. The staff was very friendly (as you'd expect in Northern Carelia overall) and the hotel was clean and overall very pleasant

Right middle of the town. Good location! Drinking water from the tap in the bedroom so cold and fresh. Best drinking water in the world as they say and it’s true. I would recommend this hotel and will go back.

Nice hotel in the city centre, just a few kilometres from the zoo. Everything was really good, including the service and facilities such as the sauna and small pool, which guests can use without limits

This was really disappointing as there was a good selection, but cold bacon and eggs isn’t really that tasty! The sauna and pool area were nice! 👌 A previous review mentions the pool is cold, it is but I think that’s the point with a super hot sauna!!! 😂

The hotel is centrally located near a beautiful park/playground. It was a very busy weekend and the hotel was very full. There was no onsite parking so we had to park in the city lot about a block away

This is a good hotel in the center of Turku. It is a modern hotel with decent rooms. The room was large, clean and quiet with a view of the main city square. Breakfast was tasty with a good range of things to eat

I stay at this hotel every time I go to Turku. The location is convenient, the service is excellent, the rooms are relatively spacious compared to other hotels, and the breakfast is also good.

The forest scenery suites that we stayed in were in good condition and we found nothing bad in them (except they were on top of a steep hill but that tells more about my physical condition :) ) There is also another resort nearby called Kuru and they have a superb fine dining restaurant called Solitary

Due to Scandinavian regulations, the water temperature is limited to a maximum of 30 degrees Celsius, which may not feel particularly warm when the outside temperature is cold

Far but worth it, this is my second time visiting the resort and it looks like they are always upgrading and growing now they have small villas that you can choose to stay in they are fitted with glass in the main bedroom that offers Panasonic view while still in bed Perfect for stargazing The saunas is so cool and one of the oldest saunas that you can enjoy still using wood to heat up

The cottages are around a 10-minute walk to the main hotel, although this can easily turn into 20–30 minutes if you have children who want to stop for snowball fights along the way

Each time I emailed the hotel, they responded VERY promptly with the information I needed - The location is excellent, right on the town's main square and easy walking distance to an array of restaurants, shopping and ten minutes from the train station

The other was that on each morning, there was no service to straighten up the rooms. Fortunately we were able to grab towels and toilet paper from the cart and it wasn't the worst problem to have but still surprising

Yes, it does lack this, but be honest - this is not what you are visiting Joensuu! NEGATIVES - the are only two negatives. The first was that the bathroom was VERY small and in need of updating

We stayed here while in Joensuu for the Biathlon World Cup in nearby Kontiolahti. On some of the other reviews, there were comments about the lack of character

And for those going to the World Cup in Kontiolahti, the motor coach shuttle to the arena picks up and drops off in the main square, next to the hotel

The breakfast is rich and varied, the service is warm and moderate, the bakery downstairs is very popular, and the hotel is in a great location and you can reach everything on foot

The location and environment are good, but children are not allowed in the swimming pool. The hotel art exhibition is also good

The room was very good! There were two large beds and a single bed for children! Toothbrushes, slippers and other equipment were also provided! There was also a soda making machine. Overall, I was very satisfied

Great, the front desk will greet you when you pass by. There is also a big park at the door. It is very convenient to go anywhere. Shopping malls are also around

Warm water at spa, does need some renovation. Almost all the rooms are not at main hotel spa building. Long and cold walk to spa if you do not have room at main building. Breakfast nice and all did taste nice.

There was autumn holidays the week we were at the hotel which ment that the kylpylä was very, very crowded. The showering and dressing rooms would have needed some extra cleaning during the day because of the rush

When we got our room keys there was said in the small envelope for our keys that we could sleep as long as we wanted and have breakfast any time we liked

(The staff kindly brought me a new pot to use, tho she almost put the glutenfull knive in it, so maybe just a little bit of education to the staff about gluten free and cross contamination would be good) If maybe like those small individual packages of hazelnut spreads and jams can be added it would be absolutely perfect!

However it would be nice to have maybe small individual packages of hazelnutspread/nutella, because the pots that stand on the counter to be used are shared with people who use their knives to spread it on glutenfull bread, and this unfortunately gives cross contamination and makes me ill

Even though I booked again the same day I checked out, they would not let me into the room until 1pm (unless I paid an early fee) despite the person behind the desk knowing my situation

We visited the spa complex. Four types of saunas, a salt room, a relaxation area, a large pool, a jacuzzi, and a bar. There is a summer terrace with a lake view. I recommend this place.

UPD from 2025: I gave it 5 stars because of amazing view and swimming experience in July. When it is hot, this is really a gem. But the breakfast is still very modest:) 2024: Overall it was a good experience

We visited the hotel in April 2024. The rooms are a bit old fashioned, but it is OK. The greatest advantage is the view and the fact that the balcony is very close to the water

We are srayd at their village house. Very big plase, 2 floors and big terrase. You will have: own sauna, 2 bathrooms, dryer shelf, full equipment kitchen, fireplace and many opportunites.

Got taken by some software engineers from turku when they came past Lappeenranta on an excursion. This is the first place we went to and I've got to admit quite a weird fun chill place to visit

It feels very 2008 in a nostalgic way for me. I'd recommend visiting but the only downside I can think of is that you need to mortgage your house and sell a kidney to buy more than 3 drinks
