Where to stay with kids in Finland

The location of this hotel is excellent, only few hundred meters from ski lifts and Levi village

Worst hotel experience in Finland so far. The room was old, poorly maintained, and not properly cleaned. The key card system was a constant issue; they were unable to provide us with two functioning room cards

The family room was great, with a large bedroom and a separate bunk bed. It's a five-minute walk back to the hotel after skiing, and a three-minute walk to the shopping street. A perfect choice for Levi Ski Resort

Lovely hotel invite heart of town but lacks an indoor children's area when socialising in the lounge

Really nice rooms, very clean. The kids play room is a huge pluse if you are with kids.

The spa has 9 Saunas in total and several pools, love the tiny hot pool at 2 floor. Nice massage jets in the bigger pools

There is also a possibility to play pool

The service was amazing! The staff were so nice and the food was really good. Pricey yes, but so is everything around the hotel area.

Located in the Holiday club Saimaa. Sports bar with fast food type menu: burgers, nachos, fish&chips etc. Menu is fairly priced compared to the quality. Lots of pictures hanging from a wall

O'Leary's, the same as pretty much expected. Some servers very attentive, some not so much. Our dinner went well overall, however.

One of the best hotel we stayed in the Scandic region. The only hotel out of 10 that has a bathtub and a swimming pool too. Has both heater and air conditioning. No idea why essential such as a kettle is not provided.

Walking to the hotel takes 16 min. Swimming Pool is good but opening hours are very short (limited to afternoon from 3pm to 7pm)

If weekend, the pool is opened for morning too but opening hours are very short too (7am to 11am). The changing room door could not be closed

Great value for money with very clean and modern rooms. It was appreciated that the room had an empty fridge available for use. However, I was disappointed by the lack of coffee/tea amenities in the room.

Good for a family stay but their breakfast is a mess, at least during summer months. Good variety of food but it’s crowded and service personnel don’t really make effort to clean tables

The glass elevator at the hotel offers great views, and the rooftop pool, sauna, lounge area, and bar are all fantastic. They even provide an early breakfast an hour before regular breakfast service.

If you want to have a real swimming pool, the pool in the hotel is far too small. But you can have a good view from the pool. Everything else is fine, we had a pleasant stay.

The room was very big and spacious, and the TV was huge. The hygiene was excellent and very clean, and the room had good natural light. The service was great, and the transportation was convenient

This is my always hotel when I come to Helsinki since they were opened like 7-8 years ago. Good location, and I like the breakfast spread. Looking forward to stay here in my next trip

This hotel is excellent, easily meeting five-star standards. The 7T tram stop is right at its doorstep, and on the other side, there's a picturesque harbor view

I loved it so much but got sad because another customer lady yelled at me because my partner wanted to take a photo of me in the pool even though she didn’t appear on the frame nor did anyone else

My 1st visit to Helsinki was impressive by Valo Hotel with their friendliness and helpful staff. The daily buffet breakfast are also very good spread. Nice juices and with good coffee.

Would definitely come back! The wellness area was a bit pricey for an add on but really nice and chill when quiet! I just would have liked a staff member there to manage noise and groups as I wanted to go on my last night but it was very overcrowded with loud intimidating groups

The wellness centre on the top floor is cool - two saunas, steam room, pool, jacuzzi and plunge pool. Staff on the front desk were friendly and quickly helped us with a cot and change of sheets

I took my partner here for a long weekend so we could visit Helsinki. Breakfast and wellness facilities were included which both were very nice. Easy transport to the city and airport

i had a great stay in this hotel. i experienced a refreshing atmosphere. quite impressive architecture. but the only problem is the location. far from city center / tourist area

This would’ve been wonderful in the  summer but in the  cold weather……. The hotel is close to transport routes accessing all parts of city. I would definitely stay there again next time…… maybe in the summer

(minor gripe: only the scrambled eggs are made from instant eggs/powder, which is in stark contrast with the quality of everything else. Pro tip: ask for an omelette instead;) )

The location is good, near lake and 15 mins walking distance to the center of city. The hotel is old

Amazing hotel, in a good area of Helsinki. Not too far from the beach. Decor is very modern. The gym is huge for a hotel gym. Also allowed me to use the gym/spa area after I checked out before my evening flight.

It's close to Aalto's villa, and the city center is easily accessible by tram. However, arriving from the airport by public transportation (train and bus) was inconvenient, so I recommend taking a taxi

Spent a few days here due to attending a conference in the city. Absolutely loved the place - now part of the Hilton chain but with real underlying character. My room was reasonably large and very comfortable

Finally, a word about the staff, who were without exception friendly, courteous, professional and helpful. Not sure if /when I'll be back in Helsinki, but I'd be delighted to stay here again

As others have said, some parts of this hotel do show their age a little, but for me that absolutely adds to its character. The design-forward approach extends to the restaurant

Such a serene experience. The hotel is located in a quiet, peaceful and greenery neighbourhood. It has a big park close to it where you could take long quiet walks!

The location of the hotel is just the best. Closest to the train station and the city center is just a walk away. Had an amazing time there and the cleanliness of the rooms made my stay more comfortable

The fact that the toiletries were changed just one night into our stay made it more enticing. I will highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning to travel to Joensuu. The breakfast had different varieties of items too

Pleasant stay for one night in Joensuu. The staff was very friendly (as you'd expect in Northern Carelia overall) and the hotel was clean and overall very pleasant

Junior sviit has two big separate rooms and two bathrooms. Good breakfast. Swimming pool bit cold. One sauna in womens and one in mens sauna.

Location is wondeful! You're away from city center in peaceful and quiet place but also you're there in 15 minutes if needed. Breakfast was good, hotel staff very nice and polite, room a bit small but it was OK

Excellent and varied breakfast included. Rooms were very comfortable. We had a nice view with autumn leaves (so brilliant) and the bay. Close to an important bird area, lots of interesting species.

The best night's sleep! Such friendly and helpful staff welcomed us. Our two dogs were welcome at a more reasonable cost than many other hotels in the area - charged per stay, not night. I highly recommend this hotel.

Hotel ideally located to where I needed to go for business meetings. Also very close to the airport. Hotel has shuttle bus service to and from the hotel or Uber will cost about €6. Cabs from hotel may cost more

The breakfast was delicious!!! Breakfast was served from 3:30 to 10:00 in the morning! I was so happy because I had an early morning flight. They were also happy to store my luggage for me. ☺️☺️🔅🔅

Friendly staff and close to the city with a 30-40 min bus ride to city centre. More importantly, the breakfast and shuttle bus to airport are available in early hours of the day, saving our cost

Easily one of the best stays I've had at a hotel. Even before arrival, I was contacted by staff who wanted to check ETA. Once I got there, staff were welcoming and lovely. The hotel room was nice and spacious

Had a TV and even a bidet in the bathroom. Because you couldn't even enter each floor without the key provided. Each floor has a communal area and kitchen. And there's even a sauna on the top floor

What's even more impressive is that they share a building with university accommodation. You wouldn't even realise because the service was that brilliant. please ignore the negative reviews

Each time I emailed the hotel, they responded VERY promptly with the information I needed - The location is excellent, right on the town's main square and easy walking distance to an array of restaurants, shopping and ten minutes from the train station

The other was that on each morning, there was no service to straighten up the rooms. Fortunately we were able to grab towels and toilet paper from the cart and it wasn't the worst problem to have but still surprising

Yes, it does lack this, but be honest - this is not what you are visiting Joensuu! NEGATIVES - the are only two negatives. The first was that the bathroom was VERY small and in need of updating

We stayed here while in Joensuu for the Biathlon World Cup in nearby Kontiolahti. On some of the other reviews, there were comments about the lack of character

And for those going to the World Cup in Kontiolahti, the motor coach shuttle to the arena picks up and drops off in the main square, next to the hotel

The surrounding is amazing - forest and lakes behind the hotel. A lot of activities available - tracking, swimming, sauna etc.

I think it is also kid friendly place, the friends who recommend us this hotel has been going back, we love our stay 🥰

We booked a room one day in advance for one night only and found ourselves in a room properly designed for wheelchair persons, got plenty of space but looked like a hospital

Central location, 10 min walk from train station, and embedded in the IsoKristina mall, so plenty of restaurants and bars walkable without winter attire

We stopped overnight at the Radisson Blu in Oulu during our road trip. We got a parking place for our car in front of the main door, there were also parking spaces for hotel guests in the hotel's backyard

Took me days to decide if we should go visit since I checked many reviews. Eventually decided to check it myself: the dinner buffet was out of expectation, we enjoyed most of the food

Got taken by some software engineers from turku when they came past Lappeenranta on an excursion. This is the first place we went to and I've got to admit quite a weird fun chill place to visit

The spa was fun but really really cold, if the temperature would be slightly higher, I will for sure give 5 stars!

There was also a pretty long water slide, but its signalling system was constantly misbehaving and people just stood there minutes waiting even when the previous person had long since cleared the slide

The pool section also showed its age in a lot places, with stuff looking worn down, rusty or broken

Beautiful rooms, you can connect a computer to the TV. A very good sauna for women, there is a relaxation area, face and body masks, tea. Delicious breakfasts with smoked fish and other delicacies

It is so accessible from the train station and close to downtown. The walk to university campus through downtown was good, too. We had a great stay!
