Just back from 3 ights in probably the lovellest hotel we've ever stayed in! Ignore any reviews older than May 25, as this has new owners, has had a full rerubishment and it's fabulous. Small (only 9 rooms) but everything is just perfect - the location, the room, the view, the food and best of all the staff are fantastic. Our ocean confort room had floor to ceiling windows which open onto an amazing view of the beach below, over the bar/restaurant terraces. The bed is bliss, the ensuite shower room is roomy, everything works and is spotlessly clean. The bar and restaurant are busy with non-residents who come for the chilled vibe and great food so it doesn't feel like a small hotel, it just feels right. We're not french-speakers but all the staff were so friendly and helpful, whilst completely professioal and never over-familiar. Special mention for manager Fanny, for whom nothing was too much trouble, always ready with a smile and an answer to provide anything needed. We loved it, and would not hesitate to return. Our first time in Biarritz, which we thought was a great place to visit, and we couldn't be happier with our choice of hotel. 10/10!

Great welcome from all staff ,lovely room with great view . Lively terrace beautifully done overlooking beach . We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here ,what a difference good staff make to a place ,all young and running about as was very busy but always so willing to help . Great decor ,great location ,very good beds , fab hairdryers . Would definitely go back .

Thnx for nothing!
I asked for a nice Restaurant, because they didn‘t serve food at 3pm.
The recommendation was the worst Restaurant in my life. Don‘t go to Palmito! It‘s not worth your money!

The hotel is situated in a great location but clearly a lot of improvement is needed. Our (standard) room was very very small and quite basic although the bathroom was a decent size with a good shower. Towels were thin, rough and felt very cheap. The decor in the room made us feel as if we had gone back to the 1990s, very old-fashioned and the room is clearly in need of a complete refurbishment. The bed was large but the pillows were tiny and very cheap fibre-filled ones. The bedroom was carpeted (!!) which we never expected and there was an odour of stale cigarettes about it. The terrace bar was crowded and full of children running around, not the hotels fault but it didn’t help the ambiance at all. There was no table service you had to queue at the bar to get drinks and there were no menus. The bar staff appeared bored and disinterested. We didn’t eat in the restaurant as at 19h30 it was deserted and again the decor made it look more like an Ibis breakfast room than a restaurant for dinner. We read the reviews and decided to skip breakfast as for 14 euros we had been told it wasn’t worth it. There are some great cafés in the town that serve really good breakfasts, they are probably a better option. In short the hotel has clearly been neglected for years, it needs major investment to bring it up to the standard people expect in 2024.

I can see why this place has mixed reviews. We called in here five or six times, in a week. We were on the beach for four days during our trip, so it was the perfect location for cocktails, or a glass of wine. Most of the time, we had good service. We sometimes stayed for another drink, because it was so pleasant to sit and relax. On two occasions, though, towards the end of our week, we strolled in and asked if the terrace bar were open. "NO!" [Well, OK, we only asked..................] I ventured to inquire: will it be open later, this evening? Before I'd finished my question - "NO!" We're the first to understand that a long, busy season can exhaust staff. But we had been very good customers for most of the week - and were made to feel like a nuisance towards the end. Location, and a great view of the sea isn't everything.

Only used bar area, did not provide food so went elsewhere

Worst hotel I’ve had in a long time! The room smells like an ashtray. Although the view is nice, it’s over looking the restaurant terrace, so it’s really noisy, with awful music in the early evening , and loud conversations late at night. The fire doors slam so loudly my room shakes every time someone passes. The floors are so thin I hear all my neighbours moves! There is black mold around the shower. And when you run the tap in the sink for 30 seconds, the sink backs up! The night stand is so big, you can’t open the wardrobe! Just praying I can get a refund !!

Stressed personnel doing their best but keep forgetting things.
Bad food: over-complicated and badly performed dishes mixed with basic pre-fabs.
And the tired house music doesn’t help either.

Superb location, excellent rooftop bar with the best music and a great view of the little beach. Surrounded by the old port town streets.
Be aware, nearsest free car parking is a 20 minute walk away. The lack of personal attention and engagement from staff (although polite) made it feel more like a hostel than an hotel.

Well.... The "one star" is more about a combination of unprofessional service, quite high prices, and poor food quality. And don't "fresh fish from the morning market" me. We were served frozen fish of mediocre quality. There's not really one thing that saves the whole experience... The location maybe?

Hotel: the room is not very big, and it smelled a lot like a cleaning product, the terrace is very good, but if you are in the 1st floor you don't get any view because of the bar's umbrellas. The furniture of the terrace could be painted and renovated.
Restaurant/bar: VERY GOOD!! The food is great, the staff is super nice and friendly and the sunset is amazing! Do a reservation in advance.
