Kiev Hotel in Kutaisi

Worst hotel I have ever stayed at in my entire life!!!!!! This place is like a horror movie!!! Don't be fooled. This is no home-style family place. The owner Lasha is violent and actually punched my husband for simply complaining about his children running up and down the hallways screaming in the morning waking is up. Do yourself and your family a favor and stay away. The owner was arrested and put in jail for 5 days due to his violence, only because we had a video to prove his violence.

I don’t usually write reviews, especially negative ones, but this time I can’t stay silent.

This is the worst hotel I have stayed in while visiting Georgia. And honestly, I have visited many…

I will explain step by step:

1 — First, they gave me a room. The entrance door was very unsafe, like the kind of door people in Georgian villages use for a shower.

2 — The same room had a strong smell of damp and mold, and it was hard to breathe.

3 — The bed was broken and sinking in the middle. It also made a loud noise, and I woke up every time I moved during the night.

4 — I asked to change the room and even pay extra. They moved me to another room. It was bigger and nicer, and without the smell, but the shower was broken and there was no hot water. This was the last straw, because I ended up in the shower covered in soap with only ice-cold water — the hot water completely stopped.

5 — The towels were very old and as hard as a wooden fence.

6 — The toilet seat in the room was broken.

7 — The shower cabin had broken glass, held together with electrical tape.

8 — The handles of the wardrobe doors were broken, so I couldn’t open it.

9 — (final) THEY REFUSED TO GIVE ME A REFUND, even a small one. And they talked to me in a very rude and impolite way.

If you don’t want to ruin your vacation or weekend, stay away from this hotel.

It was a nightmare!!! I walked into one room — it smelled terrible and the mattress looked like a frying pan from hell. I asked to be moved to another room and even paid extra for it, but the new room wasn’t any better… The hot water turned off after 5 minutes. I had to run to the reception, and of course, no one was there. After performing a “shamanic dance with a drum,” first one person came, then another, and they told me: “Well, it happens, human factor, you know… you think Tbilisi is any better?”

They literally told me to stand there with shampoo on my head and wait 20–30 minutes, saying the water would get hot again — but of course it never did.

Just know that if you decide to leave immediately, they won’t refund your money. And everything else — like the closet, the morning noise, etc. — isn’t even worth mentioning.

The hotel is pretty close to the centre. But we received different rooms than promised. The additional bed was a disaster (not possible to sleep on). The owner wasn't too nice and the breakfast was quite late (from 9). The rules were pretty strickt (no eating in the rooms, no washing, etc). They offered transport to the airport.
