Communal Hotel Sololaki is in a quiet neighborhood, yet it's a quick walk to bars, restaurants, old town, and the funicular to Mtatsminda. Breakfast is amazing, and staff create a warm and welcoming environment. We'll for sure be back.

We stayed at 2 of the Communal group of hotels on our recent trip to Georgia: both are quality smaller hotels, decorated with flair, with friendly and obliging staff. Tbilisi is a historic and vibrant city, and Sololaki is a refined and relaxed neighbourhood - the area was integral to our enjoyment of the city. Communal Sololaki occupies part of a converted period townhouse. It has been modernised with flair. Our room was spacious with a small balcony overlooking the quiet street. It was a spacious king - again, decorated with flourish - and was clean and well serviced. The bathroom had a reasonable-sized walk-in shower, but the step up to get into it can be a bit tricky in the middle of the night. There was a small shelf for toilet bags. The staff were great - welcoming, friendly and obliging. Manager George and Anna in the breakfast room were particularly helpful. The breakfast was great - lots of variety and high quality. The hotel organised transfers to/from the airport. We stayed 5 nights in total - start/end of our trip to the Caucuses. On the basis of our stay, I would absolutely recommend this hotel. Note: a bar is under construction at basement level, below this hotel (separate owners). It seems strange given this is a residential section of the street. Hopefully the bar will not detract from the refined and low key character of the hotel or the location.

My stay at Communal Hotel Sololaki was perfect from arrival (including picking up my key and checking in early after an early-morning arrival) to my fond farewell. The hotel, a converted mansion, has great character, and the apartment in which I stayed was spacious and well-appointed, with the convenience of a kitchenette. The location of the hotel is perfect - about a 15-minute walk from Freedom Square, and surrounded by restaurants, shops and wine bars. It is the staff that made my stay even more special, especially George, who shared his great pride of his beautiful country, as well as the food! I heartily recommend a stay at the historic Communal Hotel Sololaki in Tbilisi for the opportunity to experience true Georgian hospitality!

From the moment we arrived, the team at Sololaki made us feel genuinely welcome. The staff were kind, attentive, and always ready to help with directions, taxis, or local recommendations. Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated — a wonderful mix of comfort and character that reflects the charm of Tbilisi itself. The location couldn’t be better — right in the heart of the old town, within walking distance of cafés, restaurants, and key sights, yet still quiet enough for a peaceful night’s sleep. Breakfast was delicious. Overall, a truly memorable stay — we’ll definitely return and recommend Sololaki to anyone visiting Georgia!

We had a truly lovely stay with my parents at this hotel. The location couldn’t be better — situated on a quiet street yet within easy walking distance of all the main attractions. It’s the ideal balance between peaceful and central. The staff were exceptional throughout our stay. A special shoutout to the manager, Georgii, for his outstanding hospitality and care. He went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. One thing I really appreciate about this hotel is how responsive and attentive the team is. If you ever have any concerns or requests, I strongly encourage you to speak with the staff before posting a review — they genuinely want to make things right and will go out of their way to help. Thank you, Georgii, and the entire team, for being so kind and attentive to my family. You made our stay truly memorable, and we’ll be happy to return!

Communal Sololaki is a little gem hidden away in a quiet corner of one of the old neighborhoods of Tbilisi. We stayed in their apartment, which was spacious, clean, and well fitted. It was especially nice to be able to sleep with the window open at night. What makes the hotel truly special, however, are the people. George, the manager, was incredible. I was able to WhatsApp him in advance to arrange an airport pickup and find out about possible tours. We took one tour with him to Mshkheta — he was very knowledgeable but also sensed what our speed was and we enjoyed it a lot. He also recommended a guide, Natalia, to take us around the Sololaki neighborhood where the hotel is. She made every building come alive and along the way we came to understand so much about the history of the region and the powers that have passed through. George really nailed it when he recommended her. The hotel breakfast is also well worth it. Anna is a great cook but she is also exactly the kind of person you want to see each morning when you wake up — a big, beautiful smile. In fact, everyone we interacted with at the hotel made us feel special and welcome.

The hotel is well located, the apartment that we stayed in was very spacious and comfortable. The service was excellent, and George was very helpful with the luggage and other stuff. We had to move to a smaller room for the last day since the apartment was unavailable. This room was adequate except that the shower was defective, and we realized that only the morning we left. Overall, a terrific value and a great location. We will definitely stay again.

This is not a standard hotel, but a lovingly restored slice of Georgian history. From the moment we walked though the large, blue wooden doors of the hotel entrance we were enchanted by the Communal Hotel. The traditional Georgian breakfast on offer should be experienced at least once during a stay. The staff were simply wonderful; welcoming, friendly and always eager to help. I would like to give a special mention for George who gave us the most amazing restaurant recommendations and was always on hand to help in any way he could.

A wonderful place to spend a wonderful time in Tbilisi. Located on a quiet street within walking distance of both the city center and the old town—no more than a 10-15-minute walk.
The hotel itself is small, cozy, and compact. The receptionists are extremely friendly and speak both Russian and English.
I loved the cleanliness and comfort of the room. It was always nice to return home after a long day on the move. Near the hotel is a Spar supermarket and a cafe with amazing pastries, coffee, and breakfasts.
However, I highly recommend the hotel breakfasts. They are especially appreciated. They are served in the basement, in a small, cozy kitchen. A large table is set for several people with a variety of snacks, fruit, and pastries. Everything is very fresh and delicious, and the atmosphere is homey and warm.

Communal Sololaki Hotel I stayed twice during the visit to Georgia. It’s at a side street and very quiet but close access to freedom square. Since I was solo I booked a small room. The patio is enchanting and I spent much time there while three cats were hanging out. The breakfast was greatly prepared and started from 9am! It’s a place to sleep in! When it’s raining I sat in patio to read a book.
