Old Wall Hotel in Tbilisi

Stayed in January 2026.
The hotel is located quite far from the main tourist areas, and there are no attractions within walking distance. The rooms are clean, but the washrooms have an unpleasant smell.

I encountered one of the worst and most rude receptionists I’ve ever seen (a female staff member). We had to wait in the lobby from 12:30 to 14:30 for our room to be ready, even though we had informed them in advance that we needed an early check‑in. It seems that only one receptionist and one cleaner manage the entire hotel.

Breakfast options are very limited and not fresh. If you’re lucky, you might find all the items listed on the dishes, but once something runs out, there is no refill.

Overall, I do not recommend this hotel for a family‑friendly stay. There are many areas in hospitality and service that need significant improvement.

We are family with one kid, took double bed. Single room.

The room was small, no space for kid to play, window was very big and room was full of natural light and air if open window. The bathroom was small, had space to stand and take shower easily. Toilet flush system was different than what we usually have. Toilet was properly clean but had bad order even after multiple flushs 😑😑😑🤢🤮🤮.

This hotel was away from local city attraction and you have to climb up 250m of hill with lots of car traffic around area which not a good idea for a family with kid. I was 30% happy and 70% disappointed because of the hotel location.

*** 💸💸PRECAUTIONS💸💸 ***

■ You have to pay panelty if you break anything by mistake and the panelty is decided by hotel management be very careful if you are traveling with kids. You may end up paying more in panelty than local shopping if not careful. Better ask hotel staff to remove glass items such as cups, tables etc for child safety and prevent unwanted big amount of PANELTY

■ The window don't have any thing protection for kids, they can easily fall out of it, better keep window lock CLOSED.

The tour company and guide was good but hotel experience was disappointment. For Indian family the breakfast options are limited to fruits, cake, cold milk, cheese, butter, bread, boil eggs, green tea and black tea etc, in the day time hotel don't serve any food such as lunch

*** Wolt food delivery ***
I have to order everything from wolt application which is free food delivery app for first 14 days. Have lot of desi food restaurant. This was most viable option for family with kid.

Closest Indian or pakistani halal food vegetarian food is available at 2.5km walking distance at old city Tbilisi. You can find few desi boys there inviting other desi customers.

Food budget you can keep 40 to 60 lari per person. I was buying 110 lari food daily as lunch and 100 lari as dinner.

Better search HOTEL near local city attraction. This hotel is away almost 2.5km from old tbilisi city. I don't recommend this hotel for families. It's good a single or group of boys. At some point i felt this was a hostel converted to hotel. Like pro hostel.

***MUST BUY RECOMMENDATION ***
before Gadauri tour (whole family)
Buy good quality Snow shoes
Good quality hand gloves
Bring good quality body warmer, jackets and thick sturdy pants.
Because in winter gadauri have too much cold wind and very low temprature like -8c.
Better buy all this from your original place wherever you are from, because in georgia it may be little costly.

Rooms was very clean, I was surprised with the small benefits I got, girls were very very nice at the , Reception . And the breakfast was included and it was very tasty.
Also was a lot of noise from the street and I couldn’t sleep well. But that is not the point.
I put one star for service only because when I checked out they stopped me to check my room if I didn’t STEAL anything. Are you OK? How can you treat your guests like criminals? I’ve trusted you to scan my passport and you afraid I will steal your towels or what??
I was never ever humiliated that much anywhere in the world, even in Third World countries.I never expected this in a beautiful Saqartvelo. Shame on you!

I’ve had the worst hotel experience in here. There is no concierge service, so we had to carry our bags all the way to our rooms in checkin and checkout. Rooms are narrow. There is no room service after 6pm, and if we required anything we had to wait until the next day at 10am As a matter of fact, after 6pm there is literally no staff available at the hotel, except for the receptionist. I’m not joking, she said this exactly to me when I required room service at 7pm! So if anything happens to her, the hotel will be unattended. I’m surprised this hotel is even rated 4*; it is a disgrace to the 4 star rated facilities.

I recently stayed at Old Wall Hotel in Georgia to celebrate our wedding anniversary. However, I was disappointed to be charged 60 lari for a stained towel, which already had two black spots. The claim that I needed to clean the room surprised me, as it's the hotel's responsibility. Additionally, the electric kettle provided was very dirty. Despite my request, the manager declined to waive the extra charges, and I feel they are making false allegations. This has been a disappointing experience, and I would not recommend this hotel due to the third-class service.
