Reviews
Our stay from October 2nd to 7th was meant to be a healing trip for our family after a very difficult year, following the passing of my mother. We specifically chose this hotel for its location, promised view, and most importantly, a room with a balcony so we could have a shared space. Unfortunately, the reality was a complete disaster.
Wrong Room & Terrible Service: We were given a room without the balcony we booked. The night staff, a new employee, couldn't help and told us to wait for a manager. When we returned the next day, we were blamed for not being at the hotel and told it was "too late." After a lengthy argument, the manager's final offer was to either split our family into two separate rooms (defeating the purpose of our trip) or simply check out. I was shocked by this unprofessional ultimatum.
Subpar Breakfast: The breakfast was below basic standards. The vegetables were old and badly chopped, and they refused a simple request for an omelet, only offering fried eggs.
Inaccessible Location: The hotel is located on an extremely steep hill, making it impossible to walk to. Be prepared to take a taxi for every trip.
While this hotel may be cheap, the abysmal service is not worth it. I rarely write reviews, but I feel compelled to warn others. Please, spend a little extra for a different hotel and save yourself from a terrible experience.
This was supposed to be our family's first vacation after losing my mother—a trip to reconnect and heal. We (my father, my sister, and I) carefully selected this hotel for our stay (Oct 2-7), looking for a place in the Old City with a nice view, a decent breakfast, and one critical feature: a balcony where we could all be together. What we received instead was a lesson in shockingly poor hospitality.
The problems started at check-in. We were given a room without the balcony we had specifically booked. The receptionist was new and powerless, telling us to wait until the next day. We spent the next day exploring the city, only to return in the evening to a different receptionist who dismissively told us, "You weren't here, and now it's too late to fix." I was stunned. Was I expected to spend my vacation waiting in the lobby for a mistake they made?
The "solutions" they offered were insulting. First, a room with a child's bed for three adults. Then, they suggested splitting our family into two separate rooms—the very opposite of the togetherness this trip was all about. When I tried to explain this, they called the manager. His response over the phone was the final blow: "This is your only option, or you can check out."
To add insult to injury, the location is on an impossibly steep hill, requiring a taxi for every exit and entry. The breakfast was just as disappointing, with tired, coarsely cut vegetables and a refusal to make a simple omelet.
I am not one to write reviews, but this experience was beyond unacceptable. The hotel might be inexpensive, but no amount of savings can justify such callous and unprofessional service. Please, listen to my warning: do not stay here.
