Where to stay in Winterberg

Lovely week in a nice park. Swimming pool and whirlpool are amazing. And they have a lovely room for kids to play. Be prepared to take your luggace skyhigh before you can enjoyed the rest of a holiday ^^.

Nice location, apartment was ok. The pull out sofa bed was horrible and the “normal” beds were also not that great (very hard mattresses and short for a tall guy) Chairs, especially on the balcony were really hard and uncomfortable.

The location is brilliant if you come to ski as the lifts and rental places are a 5 minute drive, otherwise there's not a lot of indoor activities, were you with children. The rooms are modern, new, well-equipped and very comfortable with great heating (coming from the UK it's a blessing). The pool and the outdoor hot tubs are nice but cold, not quite for a pleasant swim or splash with friends/kids...

We stayed at the Hapimag resort last weekend and enjoyed the upgraded/renewed appartments. Perfect location in Winterberg with close proximity to the city center and sportanlage. The renewed appartments are very cleean, solid and excellent beds. The houses could use some new paint on the outside

Good room with enough facilities, but the cleaning service is not good as 4 stars hotel. Also the pool area is not so clean and the pool has not really good filters as well. The breakfast is good and serves in a cozy place.

The guy on the reception desk when we arrived, was excellent, a very friendly and welcoming face ***** He gave us a complete run down of the resort and made us very welcome.

Staff is friendly, especially at the bar. The rooms are adequate for what you pay. At one point there was a malfunction with our shower water, and staff was very nice about immediately helping us change rooms. The work out room is unfortunately equipped pretty bare-bones, and the spa area has been called somewhat outdated.

I had a very nice and relaxed stay at "Der Schöne Asten". The room was comfortable and clean and the service very friendly (if a little inexperienced at times). Very beautiful hotel, with spacious and comfortable rooms. My kids were very pleased by the little details reserved for them such as kids slippers and kids personal care kit with special shower gel, shampoo, body lotion and a wet cleaning paper just for them. Great place to stay for skiing in the Sauerland. The Big Egg building is iconic, the views from the rooms are great, the huge jacuzzi is fantastic after skiing or hiking, and the indoor pool has a diving board and a slide. Great hotel just at the end of downtown Winterberg. Beautiful views of the area. The spa area is huge and very nice. I did not care for the strange ergonomic pillows but that's just a personal preference. We got stuck for a short time in the elevator so be aware. The breakfast buffet is really nice.

I was there for a one-day yoga workshop from the online yoga course. The resort is impressive! The food was excellent. The service was outstanding and very friendly. I would also like to check out the rooms and other amenities.

For us, two people with a dog, the hotel was a true oasis of relaxation over Christmas. It's wonderfully quiet up here, and many beautiful hikes are accessible directly from the hotel. The hotel's location is perfect for a nice walk to attractions in Winterberg (Shopping area, Ski Lifts, Rodelbahn, Hiking Trails, etc.), and a short drive to surrounding towns with other attractions (swimming, mini-golf, boating, etc.). The staff is very kind and the rooms are very clean and and with 8 beds you can accommodate many people. The one bad thing is the wifi as there is a poor signal throughout the entire hotel. Edit: I should've complained about the wifi so that was on me and it wasn't really bad outside of the room.

Location top, dinners great. Kids friendly, however the kids club they could improve a bit, very small and outdated in my view. Went during winter. Nice hotel, breakfast and diner were also good. Sauna is very beautiful and nice. We booked a 2 person room and also used the ski/snowboarddepot that was included. However, when you have a snowboard and skis, 1 pair of shoes will NOT fit in the locker. The depot is really small when you have a 2 person room. Very friendly staff, and they have their private parking. No need to reserve. They are situated near a tunnel under the centre of Winterberg, so if you walk up the side of the tunnel you are right in the centre! And the hotel is really near the main road. Very convenient.

Perfect place for a ski vacation, you have all the amenities needed for this and more. The hotel is close to the city center and to the ski slopes. The atmosphere is great, the staff is super nice, and the food is tasty. Would definitely come back here again.

Good beds, food and friendly helpfull staff. Came here for biking, excellent base for doing rides of mtb routes, bikepark. They even have a place to clean your bike afterwards.

The hotel is very nice and has a good restaurant. After initially moving into a not-so-nice room (which, according to the nice owner, is now being changed), upon request we were offered another, really great room at no extra cost. Great stay - great thing!

Very good option in the city center My experience at Nuhnental was very good. The staff is very attentive. Rooms are cozy and the fact there’s sauna and a swimming pool is a real bonus. All the facilities appeared to be recently renovated. Location is unbeatable.

Very limited parking and in noisy area

Thank you for some wonderful days at your hotel. The friendly and cozy vibe made our stay a nice and relaxing experience. The Staff was at all time to our servic. The hotel was clean and the wellness area with the pool and saunas was also great. The food was good, and the winery had a fine selection of wine from different areas.

The rooms are nice and clean but the mattresses were far too soft. We didn't sleep well at all. Friendly lady at the breakfast buffet. The lady of the house is quite brisk and not very helpful. The small pool was cold, not 29 degrees as advertised (20 max). Unfortunately on both days the bar closed at 8pm so we couldn't grab a drink after dinner. The service was amazing, we went on Xmas and the staffs had arranged a special breakfast menu with a pretty looking decoration of the dining room. Ambiance of hotel itself felt a bit old but the rooms were alright. We paid 9 euros for Sauna which was great and during our stay we also made use of the pool. Centrally located, 10 minutes walk to the ski resort, there is another MONKEYLAND also 15 minutes walk. The on-site restaurants and bars have a variety of styles and tastes good. There is parking on site.

You can read my tips and opinions in the reviews. Definitely recommended, the Sauerland and the hotel are worth a trip, especially on a motorbike.

Room was big and clean enough. Breakfast was basic but fine. The bar and restaurant were good.

After having visited and stayed at several accommodations in and around Winterberg, the Central-Hotel stands out; thanks to their food, service and the 10/10 location.

The location is excellent (but be aware that parking space is limited), rooms are a little bit outdated, but OK. The service is really bad, especially the owners are very unfriendly when you have an extra wish (e.g., fried eggs for breakfast) or small complaints (e.g., toilet flush is not working correctly). I suggest to find another alternative if possible.

Hotel room comes with free access to the indoor swimmingpool, turkish steambath, infrared sauna and regular swedish sauna. Very relaxing. Situated right in the center of Winterberg.

The room was spacious, nice breakfast, lovely pool.

All together it wasn't very bad. However the waitress was not very pleasant and simple refused to speak English, she also had no patients what so ever and made the whole experience Al lot less pleasant. The food tasted pretty good, presentation was ok, but not as good as it used to be. The old school German taste wasn't very much there. Not the classic German vinegar salad that we used to love here...

Great place to stay in summer, when prices are literally half compared with wintertime. Great spacious room and a comfortable swimming pool.

One big problem was the lack of a dedicated ski boot room ( there was only an improvised solution). Also, the glutenfree bread in the morning was served only sparingly.

Together with our dog a guest at Gilsbach. Great rooms. Park your car next to the building. Breakfast was fine but not or hardly replenished. If you are a little later that is not useful. We spend a long weekend here at the end of May, it was delightful! The owners were incredibly welcoming, they serve great breakfast with fresh produce. The location is perfect for staying in Winterberg: there are shops, cafes and restaurants around, the train station is 15 mins walking. Overall highly recommend!

We liked the room and the breakfast. We had a nice place for breakfast with a view of the garden. The hosts are friendly and accommodating. The location is ideal: close to the city center, but still quietly located on a side street. A supermarket is around the corner.

Accommodation is in a quiet side street, but still only a few steps away from the “town center”. Very nice owners. Great garden with terrace.
