Guests frequently highlight the stunning panoramic views of Lake Eibsee and Zugspitze from rooms and the restaurant with large windows. The hotel’s extensive amenities, including an indoor pool, fitness centre, sauna, massage, and a private beach with free kayaks and paddle boards, are well received. Many reviewers praise the friendly and helpful staff, particularly mentioning the attentive bar service and spa facilities. The variety and quality of breakfast and buffet meals, especially the egg station, receive positive comments. Location proximity to outdoor activities such as hiking trails, cycling paths, and the Zugspitze cable car station is considered excellent. Some guests report inconsistent service quality, especially at check-in and in the restaurant during high season when buffet-style dining replaces table service. A few reviews mention the need to reserve dinner in advance and confusion around restaurant access and meal policies. There are complaints about the lack of variety and quality in dinner options, and that beverages, including water, are charged separately. A minority of guests experienced unfriendly or dismissive behavior from some reception and security staff. The hotel rooms, while clean and equipped, show signs of aging and could benefit from renovation.

I stayed at the Eibsee Hotel for three days and had a truly wonderful experience. The view was absolutely breathtaking, and everything was very clean and well-maintained. My room was close to many great amenities, including an indoor pool and a gym, which made my stay even more enjoyable.

There are plenty of activities to do in and around the hotel, and the food was unique and delicious definitely a highlight of the trip! The overall atmosphere was peaceful and welcoming.

I would highly recommend staying at Eibsee Hotel and I’m already looking forward to visiting again soon.

Please, do not ruin other people On the day of our arrival, we arrived at this hotel around 8 p.m. when the restaurant was about to close. They are open from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. to serve dinner to hotel guests. Thankfully, before arriving, we called them first at around 5 p.m. The lady who answered the phone made the Reservation for us, because we would arrive 15 minutes before 8 p.m., so we decided to reserve for 7:45 p.m. The lady said it was fine and that she would arrange it with the staff at the tavern restaurant (that's what she called the hotel restaurant). The short-haired lady and the young man who helped us check in were both very kind and quite informative. Unfortunately, one of them didn't tell us that we had to make a reservation before eating at the restaurant. They also knew that we wanted to get to the restaurant as soon as possible for dinner because we had a long journey to get here. When we arrived at the restaurant, the staff searched their laptops several times to see if we had made a reservation or not. We waited quite a while, and finally this woman said, “Follow me.” I thought she would take us straight to a table, but unfortunately we had to wait again. She spoke in German, “What's going on? I can't find any guests from this room.” The blonde-haired woman helped her and said, “Take them to the back table we made for other guests. You can make a new table for them later, it's okay.” Thankfully, she gave us a table right away. Not only that, but we also had to wait quite a long time for the main course because she was busy at another station. But what I regret is why they didn't tell us directly on our first day when we are at the Reception or in the restaurant. So we thought they would organize everything for the guests, especially since this is an all-inclusive hotel. Even after the meal was finished, she asked if the food was good or not. Actually, there was something I wanted to say when I took one or two bites, but I was tired from the long trip, so I didn't eat all of the food. And they looked like they were getting ready to closed. The next day, we returned to the restaurant to eat, but unfortunately, the same thing happened again, only this time it was even worse. Every employee who approached us came with dirty plates in their hands and asked for our room number. They typed it into their laptops, then looked confused again, and left us. Another employee came, and then another, three times in total, each with different people and their hands full. We were already annoyed by then; just trying to eat was such a hassle. Finally, we were seated in the same place, the back area, stuffy and isolated. But we just didn't like the vibe. So this kind female employee spontaneously made cutlery for us, then she explained all the rules for eating here and reservations + if there were any extra requests, please tell us. The next day, we took the initiative to go to the reception desk to confirm whether we could eat in the res

The Eibsee Hotel is the most beautiful place, with stunning walks and cycling around the lake. We stayed only two nights but wished we had stayed longer. The staff were soft-spoken and very helpful, making our stay even more special – we can’t wait to return.

🌟 Wonderful stay at the Eibsee Hotel 🌟

The hotel offers an excellent value for money 💶 : the room was comfortable and the included half-board very convenient. The meals were varied and delicious 🍴, definitely up to expectations.

The restaurant has huge panoramic windows overlooking the lake 🌊 – a true highlight, especially at breakfast when I loved starting my day with such a stunning view.

My room had a terrace with an amazing view of both Lake Eibsee and the mountains 🏔️💙 – such a privilege to wake up to that scenery!

The hotel also provides great amenities: direct access to the private beach 🏖️ with kayaks and paddle boards 🚣‍♀️🛶 to explore the lake. A magical and refreshing experience.

I didn’t get the chance to try the spa 💆‍♀️, but it’s available and adds to the already well-rounded offer.

The surroundings are just as exceptional: Lake Eibsee is one of the most beautiful in Germany 🌿, located at the foot of the Zugspitze 🚡. Whether walking around the lake or going up to the summit, there’s plenty to enjoy!

👉 In short: a wonderful hotel in a unique setting, perfect both for relaxing and exploring this stunning region.

The Eibsee Hotel owes its high scores mainly to its idyllic location on the lake of the same name, close to the Zugspitze. The hotel has a beach with free use of canoes, among other things. There is a large sunbathing area with different levels and sun loungers. Here's the first thing to note: early in the morning, guests are already busy claiming sun loungers by placing their towels on them. By 8 a.m., all the chairs are taken, while there is hardly anyone on the beach. We had expected this practice mainly in more southern resorts, but unfortunately we also noticed it here.

Now for the hotel itself. We had stayed at the hotel before, but outside the high season. At that time, we appreciated the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the food. This year (2025), we booked for August. The experience was quite different, starting with a cool reception at check-in (distant and with hardly any information; luckily we already knew the hotel). The rest of the staff, with the exception of the bar, did not have the same customer focus that we had experienced before.

There was also a noticeable difference in the cuisine. In high season, there was no table service (although there was outside high season), but everything was served buffet style. The creativity in the dishes was very limited and even became monotonous after a few days. Again, this was a clear difference from our previous stays.

The rooms themselves are adequate and well equipped, but are starting to look a bit dated.

In summary:
- The hotel's trump card is its location on the Eibsee and the Zugspitze.
- There is a big difference in experience between low and high season (very busy in high season) in terms of both the culinary aspect and customer friendliness.
- There is also a noticeable difference between the two periods in terms of cuisine.
We would not immediately consider staying here again in high season.

We had a big family holiday staying in Eibsee hotel for a week. It was a wonderful experience and we all had an amazing time! There are so many different things to do at Eibsee hotel. My family enjoyed activities like cycling, hiking and jogging around the lake. Also swimming, paddle boarding, pedalos, and canoeing in the lake. My husband and his brother traversed some of the local Vai Ferratas. There is a cable car station right next to the hotel which you can use all year round. We went in summer so there was no snow but you can do skiing in winter. There is a luxury spa with gym, swimming pool, sauna and steam room next to the spa lounge for the guests who likes to just chill out in a quiet relaxing area with a stunning view of the mountain and lake. The food was buffet style and we enjoyed every single day of the luxurious menus. I specifically enjoyed the bar in the evenings. The bartender, Bence, entertained us with stunning cocktails and he also entertained my teenage son showing him how to make mocktails. My son felt very welcomed and enjoyed it very much. Bence's excellent friendly service and stunning cocktails made us come back to the bar every single night! Overall, I really enjoyed our holiday and I would strongly recommend the Eibsee hotel to everyone!

We come back to here every year! The location is perfect with the lake and mountain. The hotel is generous with offering paddle boards and small boats which makes a huge difference. The spa is incredible, and the food is absolutely fantastic.

Above all these things, we always appreciate the staff. They are the real key to bringing all the pieces together and making the experience. Thanks so much!

I ’d absolutely recommend staying at the Eibsee Hotel and will probably find my way back there someday. The location is obviously incredible - right on the lake with gorgeous views in every direction.

I was really pleasantly surprised by the food. Breakfast had a ton of variety, the afternoon snack was more than enough to count as lunch, and both restaurants served truly excellent dinners. Great wine selection, too.

The service was top notch. Everyone was so friendly, helpful, and on top of things. I didn’t have any trouble at all as an English speaker.

The spa was super relaxing and bigger than I expected—I especially loved the quiet room with a view of the lake. There are so many cozy spots around the hotel to just sit, breathe, and enjoy the scenery.

It’s a beautiful, peaceful place that really delivers on both comfort and experience.
