Hotel Garni Post in Grainau

I spend 4 nights on Grainau, with outdoor temperature high positive, but always at one digit, as is usualy up in the mountain in late september. Due to putin action heating is not coming as before inside the hotel in Europe, but quilt at Garni Post was so amazing, light and worm. With a Garni Post Hotel quilt you do not need natural gas from russia.

We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of services provided by the accommodation. It was a last minute booking and with the resort almost at capacity I thought for sure the place had something available due to the fact that it doesn’t live up to the customer’s expectations. The building is old and the outside doesn’t match with what you’ll find inside .
The room was simple and very clean. The bathroom is completely renovated I assume everything in the rooms except for the doors were recently updated.
We had a room on the last floor, accommodated a family of 4. The small lobby area when entering the room has a futon type of couch where two kids can easily fit.
The view ….of course breathtaking.
The breakfast was simple and delicious: fresh different type of buns, cereals, oatmeal, cold cuts and cheeses, eggs and yogurt. They have a fancy coffee machine that makes great lattes and you name it.
It took us 10 minutes by car to get to the slopes.
Within 20 minutes you can reach the Austrian side of the mountain where they have fun night time sledding a few times a month.
Definitely coming back and recommending it.

Tip: do bring your own toiletries as you’ll only find TP and hand soap in the room, no shampoo or shower gel. Also no hairdryer (maybe available at reception if you ask?)

Old building with its old problems in some places but a really nice place to stay. Rooms nicely renowated and clean. Good breakfast. Nice family running the place. Great location for skiing and hiking vacations.

We had in the Hotel zur Post is a holiday. Good Price/Performance Ratio. Very nice and everything fashionable Hotelier. Is even in the power range of MTB racing and offers its guests guided MTB-tours.

Excellent price quality, and, most importantly, the narrow gauge railway is close (walking in ski boots), so slopes are not a problem to get

100% recovery. Our room with balcony in the direction of the mountains a dream. The Breakfast buffet is diverse and full of ideas. Willingness to help in every relationship, there was nothing that was not made possible. Recommendations for non-experienced hikers were Perfect. A around successful holiday, we will be happy to repeat. Thank you for Everything.

Our vacation here was 5-star in every way. Verena and Ander were fantastic hosts and very welcoming! Breakfast was delicious, and for dinner, there are excellent Bavarian restaurants right around the corner! The local train stop is a few minutes walk away and goes to Garmisch to the north and Zugspitz/Eibsee to the south within a few minutes. Spectacular views and hiking/biking trails in all directions. Very relaxing and beautiful, we can't wait to come back soon!!

We stayed 1 week at Hotel Post Grainau, end Januar and enjoyed our stay very much!
The owners are guestfriendly and helpful and the hotel is very quiet.
They have a space for storing ski equipment and you easily reach the hotel by Zugspitzbahn-train or bus (included in price of the stay thanks to the Grainau-card they give you at check-in).
The dubble room we booked was liked described in the reservation and breakfast buffet had a small variation every day.
Several restaurants are located on short walking distance (we enjoyed the Jaegerstuerbel and Heiss'n stuben).

Our double-bed had two single-matresses, and his furniture could be renewed, be we slept very good despite of it!
Also note that wifi is only available in the lobby, but you won't need it if you are there for enjoying the beautiful nature! (Views from the rooms are very nice, as the hotel is a bit excentred!)

We felt like home and surely recommend this accomodation!
