Hotel Alpengasthof Löwen in Bad Hindelang

We arrived in the pouring rain starving and hungry only to be greeted by a very arrogant owner , we asked him if we could eat and told us no as we need to make reservation there was about 5 people in the entire restaurant and basically told to leave please find somewhere else to eat as the owner obviously do not like English people . Hope this place goes bust and it's not very nice being turned away so had to settle for crisps and pretzels for our dinner.

So after being turned away on Monday being told it’s a quite day so no table available despite people being in the half full restaurant by whom I assume to be the bar manager or possibly a waiter couldn’t tell. On Wednesday (tonight) it was the only restaurant open and the rain was pouring down in a monsoon fashion the 3 of us made the walk down to the restaurant hoping for a more friendly welcome. We arrived at 8pm delighted to see the lights on and a few people still enjoying the delightful food and warmth within. Shaking off wet umbrellas we ventured inside to the warm and welcoming delights of the foyer. After a short wait slowly drying with umbrellas packed and empty belly’s we were greeted by the same delightfully miserable manager or waiter or whatever position of lowly power he enjoys who looked at us with a welcoming and knowing smile and simply said NO. All the signage about said open till 10pm for food and drink but the answer was an absolute NO.. I suspect if we were German the answer would have been yes. Absolute disgusting disrespectful display of your not welcome here. I would recommend a complete boycott of this establishment unless you wish to feel totally unwelcome and second rate.. You have been warned
