An excellent hotel with a wonderful swimming pool area and spa section. It would be appropriate to forbid children to jump into the pool, which was unpleasant. We had a very quiet and cosy room at the back, and the dining rooms are well furnished and pleasant. Breakfast was excellent in choice and quality, dinner was good, well presented but often too salty, including some of the salads on the starter buffet. You can always add salt, but once it's inside it impossible to take it out, and we had to leave some of the food on the plate. The hotel is in a great landscape, near the lake, with its own parking.

Lovely hotel close to Neuschwanstein Castle and nearby lake. Service was excellent and half board was a great option to relax after a busy day site seeing. My teenage girls loved the pool too.

This hotel is gorgeous. The location is amazing. So much to do and see. The staff was friendly and helpful and professional.

The hotel is super nice, the service is outstanding, and all the staff are very kind and accommodating. The restaurant breakfast is of the best quality ( echtes Deutsches qualität). The room is very comfortable and big.
We stayed with a toddler, which can be challenging, but everything was perfect.

We stayed for 4 nights but we were treated like family by the staff from day 1. I really wish I had wrote more people's names down because we did not have a bad encounter with anyone and every staff member wanted us to feel welcomed and important. For instance, a tall male staff member stood at attention as our family came through the corridor for breakfast, saluted us with a trumpet sound, and said, "Mr. President". He had me cracking up, it was a fun way to start the day. We ended one of our nights with live music in at the bar. The entertainer was good and engaged with us - even let my friend get on the mic and sing a little. The star of the show was really the bartender, Mohammed. He treated us well for three nights straight. He understood our unique tastes and ensured everyone kept a smile on their faces. The bar service was top-notch throughout our 4 nights.

Breakfast was pretty good. The omelet station cooks were very accommodating and fast. We had our own table reserved because we stayed more than 3 nights, which was nice. Someone forgot to mention that to us on the first day, but we got it worked out without a problem. They have as much prosecco/sekt as you need to get your day started. And, a juicer for the people that like to make their own fruit juice.

The spa was nice and we took our kids to the pool there. It wasn't very large but it was good for what we needed and wasn't crowded. My wife and I enjoyed the sauna rooms.

Near the property we found a public beach by the lake and enjoyed the cool water. You could drop your SUP in here. We didn't rent the bikes that were available, but I could see that being a great addition to a vacation in the area.

Two of the nights we went to dinner downtown. We were not able to catch a bus because of the schedule and they just didn't show up, so we walked. The walk was not bad. Maybe 20 minutes. Dinner recommendations came from the staff - many thanks to those gentlemen!

A few notes for things that could've made our stay a little better:

For anyone planning to visit in the near future, our room had construction directly outside that hindered our view of the mountain landscape (a large crane and frontend loader) and was a bit noisy in the mornings. Maybe ask for a lakeside view or a room that doesn't have this particular issue.

Also, please figure out something with the fruit flies around the wine dispenser. We were very disappointed we couldn't try the wines due to the small flies around the nozzles. We ended up going to the store and buying our own wines to enjoy on the balcony.

A return visit as the last one was so good. The staff are friendly, food superb (breakfast and 5-course dinner) and the facilities (pools, sauna, etc) excellent. The location right next to the lake is beautiful.

A lovely hotel with great facilities. The staff were welcoming and a special mention for Mohammed behind the bar who was very kind to us when we needed assistance. Breakfast fantastic although there isn’t a toaster (this caused distress to my travel partner!!!!). Reception didn’t always speak good English but that was our problem not theirs. The hotel is about a 25 minute walk to Fussen and taxis are €10 one way - often taking a while to arrive. Also you can’t seem to pre order a taxi - we walked to the train station on our departure rather than risk it with a taxi. Hotel is great for bike hire and boat trips. We received the Fussen card which gives you free bus transport and money off certain attractions, and money off bike hire and boating when booked with the hotel. All in all we would definitely recommend this hotel.

Spent 3 nights at Hotel Sommer. The location is beautiful, and we enjoyed an afternoon sunbathing by the pool and were impressed that the outdoor pool is heated. The hotel was good, the staff friendly and welcoming and our room was spacious. The restaurant staff were friendly and helpful. On arrival day, we arrived too late for dinner, but we were able to choose from the salad buffet and given complementary drinks and desserts. Breakfast was great with a wide choice of options. Great cocktail menu too.
