C & N Hostel Munich in Munchen

It's quite far away from the centre of Munich and it cost €5.50 on public transport to get here, taking 45 minutes.
The place itself is very basic, but immaculately clean. We hired towels for €2. The showers were hot and powerful and there was a hairdryer in the shower room. There are vending machines for drinks and snacks. For the money, I would recommend.

After booking the wrong hostel and actually booking this one, I was shitting myself after reading the reviews. Probably more the fact that I was in charge of a stag and I had 7 other people to win over after my mistake. Who by the way didn’t let me live this one down.

First impressions definitely led up to the reviews. The outside was scattered with rubbish. The entrance resembled something of that from a building site with dust on the floors and wires hanging down through the centre of the building.

Well I held my breath walking up the stairs hoping for anything better than the entrance.

it’s a good job I held my breathe as the toilets upon walking in smelled like a wrestling match between a skunk and a bag of old nappies.

I should add the toilets are clean as-well as the shower facilities it’s just they have a distinct smell. I can only describe it like Tupperware, you can clean the curry from it but the stains are still there.

The rooms itself are okay, clean basic and just what you need for a good nights sleep. Depending on where your room is depends on how much sleep you get. Room 41 for us was fine, close to the toilets so expect some noise. It’s a hostel full of people that are doing the Same thing as you. Drinking lots of beer at the festival or just looking for a cheap stay.

There is a small balcony where it seems people carry on into the night drinking.
Be careful of the benches as they are about as strong as United’s back five.

Bar is open 24/7 in the hotel part where you check in so if you decide that 20 Steiners aren’t enough you can be sure that there is some beverages and pretzels waiting for you at the nicer part of the building that’s not really the hostel but used to check in at.

The location isn’t the greatest - a 40 minute trip to the centre / festival. My advice is use Ubers at about 40 euros between four people it isn’t that bad. Our get on the voi scooters to the tram and then from there it’s about 25 minutes.

The reason I say location isn’t great is because there’s not much round, shops are 15 minutes walk away and there’s one sports bar maybe 20-25 mins walk away.

Poverty pastries at Lidl are a must the day after.

Strip clubs within a 7 minute walk however they look about as legit as most bbc presenters.

I hope the review helps. I’d stay again but only for the simple reason I’d love to see if it’s a fixer upper or not.

Cleaning lady was very nice and helpful. 20 euros to check in earlier if you need it.

Don’t lose your key as it will set you back 50 euros and I’m sure if you’ve read this review you’d probably not be best pleased paying any extra.

Overall not bad - just here to give it some respect as the actual reviews on here make it seem like faulty towers when in actual fact it’s more like staying at the YMCA. A bit of character never hurt anyone eh?

Have a nice stay.

The shared restroom and shower room was cold and impossible to shower in. The room wasn't cleaned daily, and the bed linen wasn't changed until a week's stay. On my first day, there were other people's hair on the bed. Aside from the front desk's service, I wouldn't recommend it. It's close to the Munich Exhibition Center, one subway stop away, and one kilometer from the main train station.

The hostel is clean, the beds are comfortable. There are enough showers and toilets. There is also a small kitchenette. But it is not enough personnel to maintain the place, the halls are dirty and the check-in was more than 15 minutes in the evening. Overall, good stay for fair money.
