Grimm's Berlin Mitte in Berlin

Stayed here for a few days whist visiting the Chritmas markets. Location was great and central to what we wanted to do and see whist in Berlin.
Apartment was clean, spacious and well kept and had everything we needed.
The staff we met and spoke with were all great and very helpful.
Would stay again if in Berlin.

We loved our stay at Grimm’s. The rooms were very quiet, comfortable and well appointed. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was great. We will definitely recommend Grimm’s to friends travelling to Berlin.

Our room was clean and the perfect size. A lot of storage possibilities and a big bathroom. The employees at the reception were friendly and helped with all questions. Great location and it takes like a 15 minute walk to the Alexanderplatz. Breakfast was also very good with fresh pancakes every day and a variety of cheese, salad etc. You can park in the garage for 20€ per night (on the street it is 3€ per hour).

Loved the openness of the apartment, the location wasn’t too far from attractions and transportation. Also appreciative of the lift to the apartments. Wish the breakfast had more options as I’m pregnant and couldn’t eat most of it.

- Great location with easy access to public transport and underground parking.
- Very good breakfast with a wide selection – just sometimes a short wait for eggs to be refilled.
- Spacious and well-equipped apartment with balcony, comfy beds and everything we needed.
- Friendly staff.
- We were disappointed by the room setup – despite confirming twice that both bedrooms in our apartment had double beds, one had a 120 cm bed and an extra bed was placed in the living room. This was important to us and one of the main reasons we chose this hotel. The hotel offered compensation, which we appreciated, but it still didn’t meet our expectations.
- Overall, great value for money considering the size, equipment, and location.

Stayed here for a week on my first visit to Berlin. Pros: - Very clean - Good location in Mitte, with restaurants, public transport, etc. nearby - Bathroom was nice, shower very strong - Room size was very good (stayed in a Double Deluxe Plus room) - Bed was comfy Cons: - No safe in room - Need (many) more hangers for clothes - No kettle or coffee maker or refridgerator in room - TV only had German language channels - do they only have German guests? - AC was not very cold, and the adjustment dial just spun endlessly (as opposed to have a digital thermostat) Final comment is about the staff - no one was unpleasant or rude, and I get that Germans are not typically emotive or warm and fuzzy people, but at a hotel where you regularly welcome international guests, you need to be trained to at least smile a bit and say "hello and welcome". When I checked in, the person at the front desk just gave me the room key and said "ok"... nothing even about where the lift was. I asked about a nearby laundromat and if it was close enough to walk to, and the response was just "no". I would have expected the concierge of a hotel to say "no, but I could call you a taxi, it will cost about 10 Euro, or an uber, or there is a bus that goes there" or at least offer something helpful. It turns out you could walk there BTW. I don't think anyone was trying to not be helpful, but it's obviously a culture not rooted in customer service, so the management needs to pay attention to this. Fix these things (which could be done easily) and you have a great hotel instead of just a good one.

We stayed over Xmas as a family of 4 (2 adults and daughters 22 & 14). We book 2 rooms and on arrival one of our rooms received a free room upgrade. We booked with breakfast each day and this was decent and self service. Food was good quality with the usual continental options. Staff were very friendly and all spoke fantastic English. Rooms were very spacious and were well kept. The location was great as a base for exploring Berlin. Very close to spittlemarkt metro station and only 3 stops from Alexanderplatz. Easy access to Xmas markets, Brandesburg gate and the museum island.

From the clean and spacious rooms to the hotel staff, this is an awesome place to stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful, especially able to help first time visitors. The restaurant food is wonderful- breakfast buffet includes European and American-style food. Flatbread pizza was a great appetizer or meal and the bar though small was full serve always. The location was easy to access the bus or train or walk or bike. This is a top 2% hotel with everything they have and do. I won’t stay anywhere else in Berlin!

I arrived late but was warmly welcomed and headed off to my comfortable room for some much needed sleep. My room was spacious with a small desk, a good bathroom and good Wi-Fi. Good location for tourism, good location for sleep, very quiet residential area. U2 Spittelmarkt and U8 Moritzplatz are both nearby but I walked to most places as weather was glorious when I was there. I didn't try the breakfast which was extra (perhaps 14 euros?). I did note a lot of places nearby which had cheap breakfast options. It would be nice if there was a room safe. Lower down on my list would be a mini-bar - I'm not into mini-bars but I like having easy access to a fridge. The journey from Brandenburg airport on public transport was hellish when I was there due to long-term, planned work. I'd suggest checking the public transport route finder for details in case this is still ongoing as it can be really confusing and add extra time to the journey. It was easier getting back to the airport as I intentionally chose to go via a REX train route which happened to be unaffected by that work.
