Room to hot, not aircondition or fan

Superb location- five minutes to schloss and Herzog Museum and old town on foot. Park is across the street. Overnight parking on street and a great base to travel to Eisennach or Bad Langersaltz by car. Highly recommend

Such a fantqstic experience staying at this hotel. The staff were very very friendly, well turned out, happy and genuinely happy in their work. My wife and Ibfelt totally at home, and we are already planning our return.

Great location by the castle, the castle park, and within easy walking distance of shopping and dining. The breakfast is excellent. We also really enjoyed the dinner options.

Top hotel with lots of attention to detail and I can only recommend it. From the outside the hotel looks relatively normal, but then... then comes a big "wow". The location, facilities, room size, restaurant, nothing was missing. Even though we only chose one night, it was enough to say: we'll be back.

This hotel is nice overall. The reception staff are very kind and friendly, which makes a great first impression. Breakfast is good, and the restaurant is also quite nice. The only downside is that the rooms on the second floor are too small for two people. They are fine for one person, but for two guests they feel cramped

Well, mostly better then Italians hotels but much lower standard then in UK or in Poland. No fridge in the room, no even kettle to do tea or coffee. Sauna is to expensive for guests. Food average.

Nothing pretentious about this hotel. It gave a very good overnight stop with an excellent evening meal. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bedroom and corridors were rather dated. I would guess it was built in the 1970s but there was absolutely nothing wrong with this hotel. Quite close to the railway station and tram stop. I would certainly stay here again.

Nice hotel, small rooms but it has everything you need. It is clean. The price is a bit high for the size of the rooms. Breakfast is good and you have plenty of options. The restaurant has really tasty food for lunch and dinner. Just a restaurant can be a reason to visit the hotel. I would stay here again.

Very nice and pleasant hotel. The rooms are cosy and quiet. The stuff is nice and kindly. The dinner was great. If you visit the town is really nice place to stay.

I like the hotel, however they have changed some of the things at breakfast: no croissants anymore, no specialty cheeses amongst others, which were two of the highlights for me. and that while pricing is going up the rest was fine

Really good location if arriving to Suhl by train as it is right in front of the station. Breakfast is nice and simple with fruits available. Room was nice and spacious, wish there was AC but those are rare in Germany.

This is a wonderful hotel, but we were very disappointed in the customer service we received. We were called on the phone multiple times in the middle of the night by the front desk, who said another room was accusing us of being loud. We were sleeping! It should have been possible for someone to briefly come and walk by our room to see that we were not making any noise, but instead they woke us up...

Great hotel but when it's 93 outside the AC in rooms don't work. We complained and hotel tried to remedy situation but others staying at hotel also told us their air-conditioning also didn't work in their hotel rooms. Hotel is beautiful and convenient to everything but hot inside lobby and throughout hotel making it very difficult to sleep there.

An okay hotel with a dated 90s vibe. Clean and decent overall, but the room was too hot with no AC. Breakfast was poor: herring and sponge cake are on offer, but if you want something modern or healthy you’ll have to look elsewhere. The photos felt misleading and four stars is definitely a stretch.

Stayed there for a week on a business trip. Didn't like the fact that the staff enters the room In your absence and messes with your personal stuff. For example if you don't put away your toiletries, they will disappear

A very nice older hotel. We weren’t enthused by cleaning staff opening the door and walking in at 8am. The pillows also left a lot to be desired, but that just seems to be the status quo for Germany. Beyond this the hotel facilities were pretty expansive: steak house, sports bar, bowling etc. a short stroll from town. The rooms were a little older but well furnished as were the bathrooms.

The breakfast is very rich and I like it. The room is well heated and very comfortable to stay in during winter. The room layout and bedding are also extremely comfortable. I will come again next time.

Not the best experience. Were part of a group. One couple in the group couldn't get a room after pre-booking as they double booked a room. Only after some negotiation did they offer a place in a sister hotel. Rooms are dirty. Location is good. Has Aircon NO KETTLE! Shower pressure is good, but the toilet is positioned so that it's awkward to sit on. There is a launderette round the corner, if needed

Nice a bit outside Erfurt. I've stayed here many times on business trips; can't complain! They even have a charger for EV cars, which is nice (costs I think €20 per charge, but was nice to have to charge my car overnight).

The hotel appeared to be fully booked. There weren't enough parking spaces, nor were there enough places for breakfast. This resulted in unnecessary waiting times. However, the staff were consistently friendly and tried to resolve the situation.

We had reserved a table at 7:30 p.m. Thirty minutes later, we received drinks and a welcome from the kitchen. The main course arrived around 8:30 p.m. and neither looked nor tasted as expected. The staff were obviously overwhelmed, too. I had aspic with fried potatoes that had been reheated at least five times, and everything was covered in tartar sauce.

Great hotel in historic building with a modern interior make this worth visit. Superbly friendly staff and classic local cuisine in a nice setting make this hotel a truly nice expérience. The historic city center is just a short walk and rewards the visitor with ancient sights.

The quiet location of the hotel is an advantage for people w/ cars. One needs about 10min walk to the nearest train station. Rooms are comfortable. The bath towels could be of better quality. The building is very old in style and Arcitecture the reception feels very welcoming lots of information and things to look at. Receptionist spoke English too and was very friendly. Don’t be put off by the picture We were just passing through Altenburg staying for one night so booked this based on price rather than aesthetic appeal and had no expectations of greatness. One room was at the end of a long corridor and above or below a fitness centre which in the middle of the night was very noisy. It sounded as if someone was throwing weights around the place. And another room had spiders in it, crawling over the person in bed and biting her, red spots on her skin, and she had to visit an Apotheke the next day.

Super nice lady at the reception. For breakfast there is everything you need for breakfast. Unfortunately had to leave earlier, but was cleared without any problems. We will be back. Stay healthy.
