Mare Blue & Suites in Georgioupolis

Check in took about 40 minutes with a receptionist who didn't have any idea what she was doing, very unhelpful and stressed. She eventually took me to my room once she found out where it was. The room was beautiful and clean but the soft furnishings felt damp but reception claimed not to understand and closed me down saying nothing can be done. The swimming pool is tiny and quite dirty and the tables and chairs around it are your dining area for all your meals, there is no inside dining! The all inclusive is a complete joke, open for three meals but otherwise nothing on offer in the way of snacks at all! Only a tiny selection of dishes and much the same most days. Food was always cold and if it rains you’re getting wet! Bar staff were ok but reception not. There were a couple of thefts from rooms while we were there from housekeeping staff and again nothing was done! Location is fab if you want beach and a small town on your doorstep! No entertainment in the evenings either!

First impressions were bad. Arrived at 10.30pm no food options .. even a vending machine would have done. Receptionist was less than helpful just brought us to our room . Never said anything just showed us a picture of food times etc ( we went all inclusive ) We had 1 drink and then it closed. Room was lovely plenty of space and clean but absolutely freezing. From then on our experience picked up but really only because of the wonderful staff on service. Drinks were very limited no ice, fruit. Didn’t feel like a 4 star hotel at very best a 3. The food was very basic. The salad and deserts were nice. Location is perfect .. you are on the beach and it’s stunning. There’s a few beach bars close by. I’d highly recommend La Palma. Fantastic Cocktails, great food and again wonderful staff. There is a little square nearby the hotel with some bars, restaurants and shops. Back to the hotel experience. It wasn’t until the day before we left we were told we can use their other hotel’s facilities. Which was such a shame as the pool in the Boutique hotel is tiny and there’s just that one area for everything. All meals , the bar everything is in the little area at the front. Sadly we had 2 days of rain and it was so cold but they only had 1 heater and the overhead covers were leaking everywhere. We were all crammed together at the one table. We were also only giving one room key and when I asked for another as I wanted to sleep my friend was staying out. The 2 people on reception refused me. They did eventually give us a second one later but only because I did say I work in the same industry and it was ridiculous. So negative review for reception all round. Over all would I stay here again .. maybe but not all inclusive. But truly for the exceptional staff they made our holiday. I cannot praise them enough. Artemis and Marianna were great fun and so helpful. They deserve a raise they just wanted everything to be right for us and it wasn’t their fault the drinks menu was not impressive. But I’d have drank water just to have them smiling 🥰. I’d go anywhere just to see them again.💙🩵🇬🇷🥰 Kostas and Tzanestos were so lovely and great help with the food choices. Alona was the most attentive young girl I’ve seen she was always checking are we ok for drinks etc. So all in all a massive thumbs up for the team especially my girls. Mare Blue maybe a few little tweaks and you could have a proper 4 star hotel. But the staff I’ve mentioned are 💯 5 star all the way. Also lovely Joanne on housekeeping was a sweetheart. Hotel average , Location fantastic. Very much a chill vibe in the area not a party destination. Thankfully ☺️ Beautiful unspoiled Crete. The dream is to live there .. because of how lovely the Greek people are and those beaches. My first time in the sea in 20 years .. I never wanted to leave.

Booked an executive King room and it was fabulous. Bed was great and room not huge but fabulous. Clean well kept rooms, friendly and helpful staff...
