Leonidas Hotel & Apartments in Rethymno

Location was great, walking distance to beach, town, restaurants, bars and shops. Beautiful clean and spacious room with excellent hosts.

This was our third visit, I wrote ahead asking for our old room, arrived to find we were placed in a double room with a generous balcony on the second floor over the breakfast area. Excellent service all the way. Fantastic experiece.Hope to return soon. By the way, We are American and the mgr spoke exceptional English. Thanks Leonidas!!!

We stayed here last minute as our AirBnB stay didn’t work out as planned. Nothing was too much trouble for the lovely staff. What a find!Lovely clean room which was cleaned daily, lovely balcony overlooking the pool.The pool was a relaxing little oasis in the busy city but very close to the beach and restaurants. All in all, we were very lucky to find this absolute gem and we would definitely stay again if we come back to Rethymno

Excellent hotell with incrediable staff. Perfect situation, just next to Rethymnon city centre. the breakfast consist of many Greece incredients, and is at least enough. (It’s our third stay in this hotell, and we will come back soon again).

+Convenient location., close to the beach and many dining options. Friendly staff. Nice room. - Located some distance from the old town. Room and balcony are somewhat small. Breakfast is ok but it could have been more to choose from. The presentation of the food and the breakfastroom inside could have been more appealing.

We stayed here in the first week in July and received a warm, friendly, family welcome. Our room was perfect with the best shower in Crete. Nothing was too much trouble for them and the cleanliness was exceptional. Mr Leonidas was always smiling - a very special Thank You to Olga, Sophia and Agnesa for making it a special holiday for us. We spent two weeks in May at this hotel, staying in a basement apartment - one of two such accommodations - which was not in the main building but separate, with direct garden and pool access. This was the highlight of our stay. We had a very spacious room, enough for two adults and one child. A small kitchenette with a fridge, and a nice bathroom with a shower and a whirlpool were included. The hotel itself is located one-minute-walk distance to the beach and is situated quietly in a courtyard, so it is also very quiet, especially at night when the seaside road is otherwise quite noisy. The city center is only about one kilometer away, a nice 10-15 minute walk, with stores, restaurants, and many more facilities all around. The hotel is in very good condition, cleaned regularly, and is very friendly-sized, operated by a very warm-hearted and helpful staff; the reception is open 24/7. All services are of 3-star quality; you get exactly what you expect for a very competitive price. The garden and pool area is spacious, with plenty of sunbeds, food service, a pool, a children’s pool, and lots of flowers. The hotel’s cats usually sleep under the sunbeds during the daytime. Altogether, we had a very positive impression and can give a clear recommendation. To you, Olga, and the whole staff, a huge thank you and Efcharistó poli!

A true gem with an outstanding team
We had an amazing 8-day stay!
We were celebrating an anniversary and were welcomed with a beautifully decorated bed, a bottle of wine and home-made cookies.
The team went out of their way to show excellent customer service. The room was clean and comfortable, and the pool area was well maintained, with very comfortable sun loungers.
We tried some things from their pool menu, and it was all fresh and delicious, at a fair price.
The hotel is located just a few steps from the beach, and there is a large number of restaurants. (Overall, the quality of restaurants in Rethymno is high.)
We wanted to rent a car for both our arrival and departure, and the manager, Olga, organized it for us, which saved us a lot of money, and the car was conveniently delivered to the airport and the hotel, respectively.
We are looking forward to coming back soon and we would definitively recommend anyone to stay at the Leonidas - we couldn't have asked for a lovelier or more relaxing, hassle-free holiday! The team really takes good care of you! We have worked and traveled all over the world, and we have rarely come across a gem such as the Leonidas.

The whole hotel itself, but also, each and every room individually are very well equiped and beautifully decorated. We especially liked the lighting and the pillows and matresses. The dining area is very convenient and and the breakfast is always fresh, delicious and of great variety. The hotel is a bit hidden, but it's at a central location, close to the beach, restaurants, mini markets and cafes. The hidden part makes it ideal for a quiet stay at the rooms. The most amazing part though about this hotel is its staff. From the owner to the receptionists and the cleaning staff, every person was incredibly friendly and willing to offer its help any way they could. I have never before had holidays at a hotel that felt so much like staying at a good friend's house. We all thank you for giving us the opportunity to relax and recharge in this beautiful city of Crete.

From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome by all the staff. The hotel was spotlessly clean throughout. The rooms were cleaned every day and the cleaners were so attentive with some lovely finishing touches with how they arranged the bed linen. The breakfast staff were very friendly and welcoming too. Breakfast had an array of things to choose from such as bacon, egg, toast. A continental choice with meats and cheese, cereals, yogurts, cakes etc. The hotel stands one street back from the sea front and a 5/10 minute walk to Rethymnon Town with a vast choice of restaurants and bars. We didn't use the pool as we hired a car and chose different beaches. We would highly recommend Ligres beach about an hours drive south.
