My wife and I returned a few days ago after 2 lovely weeks in the Athena. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful (bar,reception and housekeeping). I could name some but that would be unfair to others. Cleanliness and comfort were top class and breakfast choices were fantastic. Add in pool and great location near beach, shops and restaurants. It amuses me so much that people go to GREECE and then complain about a hotel...

Simple rooms but it's exactly what you pay for. The staff is very nice from house keeping to servers. My wife asked if there was gluten free bread available and the lady working breakfast said no but asked how long we were staying. The next day the lady came with a package of gluten free bread. That made my wife's day. If we ever come back to Rhodes we will be staying again.

The location - right on the beach is great but you know that before you go. I liked it because it was so relaxed….refreshing not to have to hand over passports and fill in forms when you’re tired after a long journey. The welcome (very late evening) was perfunctory rather than warm with very little information given. We also had a noisy a/c unit. However, once we were switched to room 401 (for a small surcharge) we were very happy. The hotel is very well managed, kept clean, the food is good and....particularly we liked the quiet. Change owners and management now called Afandou Mare. Great value well looked after by the small growing team. May they grow from strength to strength each year. Good luck for the renovations planned for the off season. This site should change the hotel and start afresh with the reviews.

I am wondering what people really want. Yes the hotel is old-fashioned and needs renovation,, in a middle of a not attractive place, and selling food items at crazy prices, but apart from that it is fine for Greek prices and standards. Clean pool open from 10 to 18, a breakfast that is decent and a service polite and smiling.

We spent a wonderful 11 days (in July) at this hotel. The service is good, the food as well, varied. Beautiful enviroment , pool, well-kept yard, and greenery. The rooms are clean and tidy. The organized beach is a bit farther away (especially when going with children), but the city of Rhodes is only 5–6 bus stops away (10–15 minutes) from the hotel. I would definitely come back to Amira.

The hotel is located very near to Rhodes center( 13 min by bus). Lots of local shops and 1 km to nearest very nice beach. The hotel is good, family friendly and peacfull. We had a great stay at Hotel Amira. The food was definitely one of the highlights – very good, fresh, and with a lot of variety every day. You could really taste the quality of the ingredients. 2 beaches are located nearby. Bus stop is 5 minutes away. Service is nice, always smiley and helpful. Family rooms are clean. (We were talking to people with basic rooms and would recommend to pay more for the upgraded ones). For night entertainment, it is crucial to travel to the city (Rhodos). There are no parties around the hotel.

Not a bad hotel, the food provided is great but this hotel has shortcomings that you should be aware of. Do not use the rental car service offered in this hotel. Yes, it’s cheap, but for a reason. If you rent a car for 2 days, it won’t be for 48 hours as everywhere else, it will be only 36 hours. When we realized of this condition it was already too late.
