I must say Jannata was by far the best hitel I have ever stayed in! Fantastic views, wonderful garden, amazing restaurant, top of the line service. If you don't love this place, we gonna have to talk :)

We stayed at the hotel for 8 nights and booked a villa with a private pool. It turned out to be an amazing, quiet, and very cozy place. Falling asleep to the sounds of the jungle or tropical rain is something really special - hard to describe, but incredibly relaxing. If you’re tired of noise and busy places, this hotel is perfect. Waking up in the morning, stepping onto the terrace, and seeing the jungle right in front of you is pure joy.

There are only a few villas on the property and they’re quite well separated from each other, so you don’t run into other guests very often. It really feels private and peaceful. Also, unlike many hotels, the photos of the rooms at Jannata actually match reality, which was a nice surprise.

A special mention goes to the staff - truly kind, attentive, and genuinely helpful people. Unfortunately, we got a little sick during our vacation, and the team did everything they could to help and make sure we felt better. We really appreciated that care.

There’s also a great restaurant on the property. If breakfast is included, you can choose up to three dishes, which for me personally felt like a small celebration every morning. The menu is fairly classic, but everything is well prepared and the selection is good - during our 8 days we didn’t even manage to try everything we wanted.

The hotel also has a very nice spa. We tried four different programs and every single one of them was excellent.

The hotel is not far from the center of Ubud. If you enjoy walking, you can reach shops and restaurants in about 30-45 minutes via a very pleasant jungle path.

One thing to keep in mind - not really a downside, just part of the experience: since the villas are in the jungle, insects and small lizards will occasionally visit you. For us it actually added to the atmosphere of staying in the middle of nature.

This is an entirely English-speaking hotel; the menus, language, and all services are in English. So, for those not fluent, communication can be a bit challenging, but we had our secret weapon [presumably a translation app or guide]. The staff were very patient and extremely welcoming, and we absolutely loved the hotel's decor. The hotel's SPA and views are particularly renowned. It's nestled on a hillside, offering truly stunning scenery with lush greenery everywhere. You'll spot snails and geckos all over, making it feel very natural and wild. However, the steps are incredibly steep. We stayed in the last pool villa, which I believe was the furthest away, so if you have mobility issues or are elderly, it's best to communicate this beforehand. The staff carried all our luggage to the room, and I truly admire their stamina! We chose a one-bedroom villa, and the pool was a bit small – I could touch both sides with my arms outstretched. The pool water wasn't perfectly clean; there were some minor impurities, but it didn't really affect our enjoyment. The 1.5m depth was perfect for me. There are lights at night, but I wouldn't recommend swimming then. However, the SPA here was incredibly comfortable and well-executed. Food can be delivered to your room, and it's quite romantic to enjoy it with the view, perfect for photos. Ice cubes are chargeable. The entire hotel has a 10% service charge and an 11% tax. During this season, it often rains in the afternoon or evening, so it's a good idea to check the weather forecast in advance. The rain usually stops quickly though, which adds a unique charm to the experience!

Very good service and nice, cost atmosphere.
The breakfast and tea time really make the difference.

The hotel is surrounded by lush greenery. The service is good, and the breakfast is plentiful. They also offer complimentary afternoon tea. There's a scheduled shuttle service to and from Ubud town center. Because it's nestled in the mountains, you'll encounter a lot of birds and geckos, and you might hear birds chirping at night.

The hotel is beautiful, but there's a catch: the restaurant food is very expensive and portions are tiny. There's nowhere else to eat nearby, so they're clearly banking on guests having no choice but to eat at the hotel restaurant and spend a significant amount. Also, they gave us a free ride to Ubud center and said they could pick us up too, if we called ahead. We called, and they told us the car would arrive in an hour and cost 150k. We ended up taking a taxi for 50k instead.

Ultimately, the hotel's policy seems geared towards extracting as much money as possible from its guests.

Dishonest staff
The staff tried to charge us more by putting the wrong amount of tax. Tax is supposed to be 10% but the staff kept insisting that the wrong amount they charged was correct. Even after the wrong %, the total was still wrong. Basically, they overcharged us.

No WiFi.

Just beautiful at Jungle Fish, the pool area is spot on and the food, drinks and service are fantastic. We stayed in a private villa at the resort and loved every moment of our stay. If you don't mind spending a bit of money on accommodation then it is definitely worth it. The meals at Abing restaurant were quality and moderately priced. Their is also a bar which is stunning and a nice spot to enjoy a drink and play a game of pool.

Spending an entire day here is one of my favorite things to do. Infinity pool. Good but not amazing menu. Portions are small and food is on the pricier side. Entrance fee approx $10 for the day. Even if it rains there is an over hang which makes for a great lounge area on their sofas. So grab a book and fresh coconut juice and reflect on easy it is to be full of gratitude for your life!

I love this place! The environment looks super good too. Ordered the Sesame crusted tuna- not the exact name but something along those lines. Definitely something I would go back for and we travelled from Canggu!
