Santun Luxury Private Villa in Ubud

It was absolutely fantastic stay! Private pool with warm water, friendly staff, great views and decor… I will surely come back!

Villa Santun was incredible! The staff were so kind and helpful — they even accommodated our last-minute extension and handled every question with a smile. The villa was spotless, beautifully designed, and perfectly private. Truly a hidden gem and a peaceful slice of paradise in Bali. Highly recommend!

The main highlights of this hotel are definitely the pool and the surrounding environment; it looks just as beautiful as in the pictures. The food was also surprisingly good. However, the bathroom had a strange odor that really bothered my sensitive nose, to the point where I had to hold my breath.

My biggest complaint, though, is that despite two days of heavy rain, there was no hot water. The staff came to check but said there was probably nothing they could do, and there was no compensation or apology upon checkout. I honestly don't know how this place has so many good reviews online. If you can avoid it, I'd suggest you do.

Absolutely stunning villa. We stayed in the 3 bedroom Royal Villa and when the door was opened for us on arrival it literally took our breath away. The layout, the pool! Everything was even better in real life than it looks in the photos. The staff were amazing - so hospitable, kind and willing to help in any way. Breakfast and afternoon tea were included and the food was amazing. Wonderful walks to rice fields and village nearby. We really didn’t want to leave. 4 nights was not long enough. Thank you to all the wonderful staff for a magical stay.

Villa Santun is our home in Ubud. This is our Third trip here and we are glad they're still as excellent. We came here first in 2012 and now third time in 2025 and their service, warmth, food, spa everything is just impeccable. They epitomizes Asian hospitality. We always book through them directly and they offer us the best prices too. They have the best staff, literally. They make you feel at home and infact the staff always greets you "welcome back to your home!" They're one whatsapp away from anything. They never say no for anything in their power and do everything with a smile on their face. The owner and the management deserves a round of applause for maintaining such high standards over 13 years. We are 100% sure we'll repeat this nice classy boutique property we call our Ubud Home now.

This is my third time in this amazing Villa Santun: discrete luxury, immaculate service and serene rice paddy surroundings. The villas are spotless clean, beds very comfortable with a choice of two pillows (I always use the soft, small one) and the best of all now they offer heated pools, something unheard of in Bali and yet longed for by so many travellers, who, like myself, hardly ever used the villa pool because the water seems rather chilly. Now, I love having my floating breakfast in my pool where the water has 32 degrees! At night it’s quiet, if you hear something, it will be perhaps frogs or some soft gamelan music coming from a village far away. Food is excellent, with all meals served at the terrace of your villa, right by your private pool. After spending here one relaxing week, I’m already thinks about when I can come again!

Wonderful place. Very quiet and peaceful. With 4 kids our stay was wonderful. Staff is on top of everything. Location is away from the main Ubud centre but we loved it. Nice walk to rice fields just nearby. Easy to walk to main road where you can get a taxi to take you to other places.

This is a fantastic villa with comfy beds. It was expensive compared to other places we stayed but worth it. The pool is heated and they offer floating breakfast in your villa pool for an extra 150k which was fabulous. It is situated away from the main street in the paddy fields and a golf buggy will pick you up from the main road, plus drop you off whenever you need to go get a taxi from the main road. I booked a massage which was amazing and she came to my room. This was a great location,it took about 15 mins to get into central Ubud.

What a Villa! Really lovely staff. Shuttle to and from Ubud. We had different options for breakfast each morning which was delivered to the villa. On our first night we decided on massages which was very much needed after 24 hours of travelling! Was really special. Thank you Villa Santun!

My family of 4 stayed at Villa Santun for 5 days upon arriving in Bali. It is located off the main streets and accessible only by walking path. This allows for a little distance and quiet from the busy streets of Ubud and makes you feel tucked away even though the town is close by and within walking distance. Villa Santun has a golf cart and offers pickup/drop-off at a nearby location if you arrive by taxi and need transportation to the hotel itself, perhaps with luggage or if you’re tired, but walking affords the opportunity to see the bordering rice paddies and some lovely Bali scenery around the hotel. They arranged seamless airport pickup for us, which was a welcome relief after 24 hrs of travel. Our driver was courteous and his vehicle clean, with plenty of room for 4 people and luggage. When we arrived, we were greeted by friendly and attentive staff. Our two-bedroom villa was lovely. Large open-air patio encircled by lush foliage and a private pool, as well as a dining table and bar area. The bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious, clean and well-appointed. While our villa provided our own private, quiet space, staff were always nearby and available to provide information. We had daily breakfast in our villa (included in room costs), which was convenient and offered good variety. Other than a snack on the day of our arrival, we did not take advantage of any other in-villa meals, but they are offered. We also made use of the laundry amenity, which was quite convenient and efficient. Staff also helped us arrange a driver for a tour one day, and this too was seamless. And last but not least, we enjoyed in-villa Balinese massages from the on-site spa facility, which was a lovely and special opportunity. Altogether, we had an excellent experience at Villa Santun and highly recommend. Beautiful setting and friendly, attentive staff. Uniquely quiet and surprisingly serene being so close to Ubud center. Our only constructive suggestions are these: fans in bedrooms would be a nice addition for the muggier nights. There is A/C, but leaving the patio doors open allows you to hear the fountain in the pool and early morning rooster crows. And finally, beware of the extremely slippery patio tile. When wet or slick with sunscreen/bug spray, it is treacherous, and this reviewer took a fall in the first 5 minutes of our stay. While a warning about this is noted deep in the welcome letter, more obvious signage and/or some anti-slip mats would be useful. Otherwise, only the highest praise for Villa Santun!
