Alam Shanti Ubud in Ubud

I don’t even know where to begin about how lovely Alam Shanti is… call outs are the rooms and staff!
My friend and I were having a bali friend trip and booked the honeymoon package and we totally had a honeymoon! The decorations were extravagant and we loved the rooms and attention to detail. First night Dewi (amazing balcony) and next we moved to one bedroom Ganngga and had the private pool (which was huge like a hotel size pool not a small villa pool) to ourselves as no guests in the other room. The staff were all very kind and helpful and it was paradise. Loved the Nyuh Kuning village which had a walkway to city behind the forest. I enjoyed walking the village - so much more chill than Ubud town. I would love to stay again with my family!

Only thing is with this room must watch for monkeys and keep things off balcony and bathroom

Alam Shanti is magical / a beautiful family owned traditional Balinese estate with mutiple homes made into villas. Nestled in the jungle and surrounded by beautiful statues looks and water features . Staff are just lovely and so attentive. We got to know Ketak and Putu who were so helpful and gracious . Such a serene place I didn’t want to leave . Situated 15 mins from downtown and at at foot of monkey forest . Loved it

It was truly a paradise on earth! We stayed here for five days. Surrounded by a beautiful garden and the sounds of birds and insects, we enjoyed breakfast, afternoon tea, and dinner on the garden terrace. The staff’s service and the quality of the food were outstanding, and Alam Shanti is without a doubt the best hotel we have ever stayed at.
If I could, I would turn back time to the first day of our stay. I already miss the fresh juice and pancakes at breakfast!

Also, since my husband’s birthday fell during our stay, I asked about it in advance, and they arranged a wonderful surprise for him. Thank you so much, Alam Shanti staff!

My Fiancé and I spent 9 days at Alam Shanti, and we had a wonderful time. The accommodations were comfortable with a huge bathroom in the room with plenty of space in the bedroom. We remembered to bring our adapters for the 220 outlets, so we had no problem charging our phones. The property is about 100 yards off of the main road so is very quiet and tranquil. The staff was magnificent and the friendliest I have experienced at any hotel I've stayed at. Truly the Balinese people have grace and friendship in their DNA. There are many great restaurants a short walking distance away, so food is never a problem. You can get anything from pizza, French, Vietnamese and of course, Indonesian food and it was all very good. The prices are very reasonable, and our service experience was top notch anywhere we went. The pool was secluded and adequately large. Breakfast was included in our stay and was very good. It was a simple menu, but service was prompt. There are great breakfast options 5 minutes away as well if you want to change up. The only problem with the stay was the traffic. Traffic on Bali, including Ubud is quite bad. The roads are not good and there are not many sidewalks to walk around on. Town is close but it is an adventure to walk there. Often walking is faster than driving or shuttle though. You have to account for an extra hour to hour and a half to get anywhere that is aways away especially the airport. Despite this, everyone seems to go with the flow. Overall, the property was a great value and the staff was magnificent. They arranged a few excursions for us and none of them disappointed. Also, the prices were outstandingly inexpensive. We loved this place and hope to return to Bali in the future.

If you are looking to stay at a hotel with traditional Indonesian architecture and very close to the nature, this is the place to do so. The peace and nature sounds will be your companions, as each room (which is actually a spacious house) is sorrounded by ponds and trees and plants. We had the pleasure of staying in the Shanti room, which has a bathroom opened to a back mini garden with an outside shower (besides the spacious bathtub), and a little pond with fish. There are no city noises here. The staff was amazing, making our stay a pleasure!

If you want to feel like you live in the jungle, this is for you. We had a second floor room with an excellent view of the local wildlife. We saw monkeys, birds, squirrels, cats and much more from our terrace. It was awesome!

Food and drinks can be delivered to your room for free. Breakfast had a variety of options and it was pretty good.

We had a close encounter with thieving monkeys at the pool. We stayed calm and it went fine but beware of leaving food and drinks outside, especially around the pool.

Other than that, no complaints. Room was good and service was excellent! Highly recommend if you want to experience the local wildlife from your terrace. Good selection of restaurants nearby.

Like some of the reviews, this place has such an old world charm. Although there is no visible wall or fence, each villa and room is strategically laid out that I rarely saw any other guest other than us when lounging in the balcony or the front yard. The staff are amazing and attentive, the breakfast was delicious and big in portion (US portion wise). I loved lounging around and seeing all the animals such as birds, monkeys, and frogs strolling around. It’s already hard to make a reservation here, but I am willing to move my entire travel dates around just to ensure I can stay at this place again next time.

Stayed here for three nights and is a cute boutique property with Balinese architecture , the rooms and living spaces are very large overlooking beautiful lawns. They give you coffee and cake in the afternoon and the service is spot on. It is located at a very good location in Ubud away from the madness of the town and you can get to the town also in 10-15 minutes…. Above all a flawless stay
